Can't wait till the rain stops and I can try this! Absolutely plagued with white fly on strawberries, broccoli, kale and sprouts. Tried the soapy water treatment without success.
Well, I made this today. VERY pungent indeed! One thing I learned was to check that there are no tiny cracks in your liquidiser before you start because discovering this problem is not good when you have already liquidised the garlic and the benches, wall, mixer, spaghetti jar, utensil pot and scales are all covered with garlic soup. My kitchen will be very safe from vampires tonight...well, for a lot of nights I imagine. Best Wishes, Brendan.
Wow thank you for this. I was looking for this very kind of insecticide. I'm not too keen on using the soap ones due to the chemicals, hope this works out. Would you share on how long a period this is good for until the plants need a second or third spray? Thanks again.
Interesting. We uploaded a video about pesticide labels. Home gardeners should read labels carefully and understand which pest the pesticide is designed for, how to use the pesticide, and how to safely dispose of any pesticide residue and the container. Your organic based treatment is probably very safe to use in the garden.
I just heard about this method of making garlic as pesticide and it really sounds interesting! Did it work according to your experience? Please let me know what are the properties of garlic that they are able to kill insects? I am very much willing to give it a try. Thanks for the idea!
I know! The flea beetles are undoing my garden and short of malathion, I don't know what the heck the solution is. Guess I will try this garlic pesticide...
Did it work? I never tried garlic. I was growing lettuce via an aquaponic farm, 400 heads per week. I couldn't spray because the spray taste was awful, including on OMRI listed, safe up to the day of harvest, sprays. I tried vegetable oil and Dr. Bronner's soap.............worked, but again tasted horrible. At the time, I couldn't get just olive oil to emulsify into water for a just olive oil spray..............then I learned about ultrasonic emulsions. I launched a Kickstarter project to bring these new Edible sprays to market..........ie, they work, AND, they are made with food so they are Edible (no soap) AND, they actually taste good if you can detect any residue at all. The base is just olive oil and apple cider vinegar, and a spicy mix adds in some essential oils, Peppermint, rosemary, garlic etc. and some spices, turmeric, cinnamon, clove. Check out the reasons why and how, and Please, back the Kickstarter so that this entirely new, safe, edible, solution can be made available for all of us growing food without poisons. www.kickstarter.com/projects/1288123367/edible-pesticides-beyond-safetheyre-edible?ref=discovery rt
Ummm not to doubt any of this but garlic doesnt have aphids because garlic is below the soil. The actual garlic plant or part above the soil can get aphids.

You should've rinced the blender with the extra water and poured into the bottle. No waste.
do i need to add a little washing up liquid to make it stick to the plants?
Hi great tip, what about colorado potato beetle?

Very easy and nice spray, but wonder if you are using 1 pint (UK) or US? since 1 pink for UK is 20 ounce and 16 for US. thanks a lot for sharing :)

For how long does the concentrated mixture of only water and garlic last at room temperature? For how long will a diluted amount last?
I can't say for my end, I was using it until I used all of it. It was more than just three months and it was still effective.
the garlic skin repels insect too so i wouldn't bother peeling...
I heard it keeps slugs away
does this work for ants too?
