I was in the front row at one of his concerts with the Waboritas . I had a red t-shirt with me that I waved around. He took it from me and put it on his head and walked around the stage with it on. i met Sammy at the Old Homestead restaurant in a casino in Atlantic City, NJ around 2013. Me and a friend were walking out and I happened to look to my left because something bright and sunny caught my eye. It was Sammy's hair. I looked back at my friend and say "hey rich, look who it is..." When I looked back in Sammy direction, who was at a table with his wife and what looked like a couple of executives in suits he had already pushed his chair back from the table, was looking at me and smiling, and waved me over. I said something obligatory like love your music, he just smiled and said thanks and he looked at me like "is that all you got? c'mon lets talk!" but i didnt want to bother him at dinner. Nicest celebrity I ever encountered.

I was sitting in a bar/restaurant in Folsom CA some years ago, and an older couple walked in and sat next to me. We started talking right away about beer choices, and they introduced themselves as Bud and Lou. A while later, the woman (Lou) asked if I knew who the Red Rocker was? I looked at this 75 year old woman and asked "Sammy? Yes, I am a huge Sammy fan!" She then said "Well Sammy married our daughter" as she pulled out her wallet full of family photo's. I couldn't believe it. They then invited me to their Christmas party that was coming up in a few weeks, and said "Sammy and our daughter and the kids will be there. We would love for you to join us!" I was so excited, I started calling all my friends at 11PM about who I met, and was going to meet. Then, I realized the party was the evening that I had plans to take my girls camping 3 hours from Folsom. I couldn't go to the party. About a year ago, I finally told my girls(now in mid 30's) about the party I didn't go to, and they said "Why didn't you come get us and take us to the party too?" Jeeez….why didn't I? Still mad at myself. Its a long story, but the girls biological father was a piece of crap, who went to Canada to NOT pay child support, and wouldn't bother even calling for 6 months at a time. I wasn't about to hurt them with some lame excuse as to why I wouldn't be picking them up. No regrets! LONG LIVE SAMMY AND FAMILY!

I was sitting in a bar/restaurant in Folsom CA some years ago, and an older couple walked in and sat next to me. We started talking right away about beer choices, and they introduced themselves as Bud and Lou. A while later, the woman (Lou) asked if I knew who the Red Rocker was? I looked at this 75 year old woman and asked "Sammy? Yes, I am a huge Sammy fan!" She then said "Well Sammy married our daughter" as she pulled out her wallet full of family photo's. I couldn't believe it. They then invited me to their Christmas party that was coming up in a few weeks, and said "Sammy and our daughter and the kids will be there. We would love for you to join us!"
I was so excited, I started calling all my friends at 11PM about who I met, and was going to meet. Then, I realized the party was the evening that I had plans to take my girls camping 3 hours from Folsom. I couldn't go to the party.
About a year ago, I finally told my girls(now in mid 30's) about the party I didn't go to, and they said "Why didn't you come get us and take us to the party too?" Jeeez….why didn't I? Still mad at myself.
Its a long story, but the girls biological father was a piece of crap, who went to Canada to NOT pay child support, and wouldn't bother even calling for 6 months at a time. I wasn't about to hurt them with some lame excuse as to why I wouldn't be picking them up. No regrets! LONG LIVE SAMMY AND FAMILY!
