So impressed with this little Audi, VAG stuff has always been close to my heart as they're such solid machines and this one definitely didnt disappoint. Its currently top of the Tower Of Power but maybe not for long if the turbocharged Ford im working on now makes it through to the other side - and im not talking about the Capri. That'll be one of next years ring cars!

I took a 100 degree corner in my 05 TT 3.2 Quattro once at 120 mph. ( it was a bit of a surprise, hidden by a rise ) I took my foot off the brake and turned the wheel and did exactly what the Audi School of Driving taught me- TRUST that Quattro to hold the curve.
It held like it was on rails. It’s not the fastest car- but it’s beautiful in ways most faster cars just aren’t, and it handles better than any RWD car I’ve driven ( but then, I’m not one who likes steering my car thru a turn with the throttle- that’s how cars get wrapped sideways around trees and telephone poles)
And, I’ve carried lumber home in my TT. Can’t say that for any 911.

I'm just doing some maintenance and small restoration works and thinking about selling it every year. But as time goes by it really grows on me and I see a future classic in it. Your work makes me wanna keep it :) And taking this old car on a trip to Germany and pushing it on a track - man, you're a legend :)

I’ve had a 2005 3.2L SLine Quattro for 18 years now. It ended up sitting unused for about 6 months because I bought a little maverick truck and was doing a lot of driving for materials and such. When I checked it out, the battery was dead and the car had been infested with rats. Had to rewire the ignition harness and replace a couple coils, put in new battery, and take the entire nose and underside panels off to clear out all the wood and other debris the rats has stuffed in there. It broke my heart to see it in that condition and I thought about selling it- but I figured I at least had to get it running again. Long as I had the front off I replaced the headlights with a couple in better condition, replaced the AC compressor which was not as cold as it should be, and finding a couple of vacuum leaks that got fixed.
As I drove it on shake down, I remembered just how much I love that car. The handling, the Growl of the 3.2L, the looks.
I got out and saw the paint on the roof was burned a little as was the top of the spoiler. Wheels a bit scuffed. I thought, “ in for a penny…” So I just went ahead and had some of the body panels repainted, the wheels dressed, new tires.
It looks and drives like new, now, and there is just no way I can bring myself to give it up.
I bought it 2 years old off a lease with only 14k miles, for HALF its 2005 sticker price. For the first 17 years I owned it, it never cost me more than scheduled maintenance. If I include the new fuel pump and headliner I installed a year ago, I’ve put about $4,500 into refurbishing it. Most of that was the AC compressor and the paint.
I’ve spent more on repairing an integra I used to own.
A joy to drive and the highest build quality car Audi ever made. They really tried their best to make it a design and engineering tour de force.
      Worth every penny.

9 min laps in a £750 21yr old bog standard 180bhp TT is astonishing. Serious track cars get 8, only supercars do 7, the all time fastest lap is 6:30. Budget motorsports. What would a Audi TT 225 striped for weight, some budget exhaust/head work and a remap manage? Remarkable little car.

I've watched this twice now!!! Superb! When you "hooked it up" and went after the Works Cooper S you could see you were right on the ragged edge...exactly how it should be...I actually had tears in my eyes it was so good!

Epic video Ben, fantastic stuff. Never would have thought that little TT, that cost so little money, would do so well, amazing !. Looks like you and that little motor had a great time together, she’s a keeper.

What an absolute weapon that is! And the car......
That's definitely a sub 9 car, I'd love to see Micha take it round 🤔 could you contact him and sort it out? But, genuinely impressed keeping up with the Cayman and the JCW like you did. Nice man 💪🏻

Simply friggin amazing was gripped with this vid and couldn’t believe the footage better than watching racing on sports channel.fighting that steering, brake squeal and watching the build up from a sorry looking Audi to a race winner…well done❤wouldn’t of had that ruck sack swinging from left to right in passenger footwell..what was in it a emergency Harrison supply😢
