  • A new clutch set has a locking device on the cover that allows simple installation. If you are reinstalling a used self adjusting clutch, the procedure is more complicated. In this video, we look at how to reinstall a clutch and what can go wrong.

Did using the compression tool fix your clutch engagement issue?

Yes, it did. It was OK using the procedure I used here, but the bite point was definitely too low.

I might be wrong but I think you have not reset the self adjusting mechanism on the clutch cover

I thought by rotating the adjuster (and compressing the small springs) resets the clutch. Is that not right?

@@PaulOffordRacing I think it was supposed to be rotated the other way, as there is like a little hook, which the spring must go into

I'm pretty certain it's the opposite of that. The spring apply a small amount of pressure so that as the clutch wears the adjustment plate rotates. There is another tool you can buy from Laser that holds the adjuster in the way I hold it with ghe bolt. I've also cross checked with videos by others, and I think what I have done is correct. Thanks for the interest, though - no problem with getting me to double check.
