2:35 anyone know what happened to the 72 tooth ratchets? Those things had raised, easy to press release buttons. The new ones are slim against the head of the ratchet and are a pain in the a$$ to use.
DrEvil I have this same set and had to warranty the 3/8!non-flex ratchet. They replaced it with a newer version. This one is 72 teeth and a quick release. It is also about 1/2 inch longer and does not really fit back into the blow mold case.
I have the 2 flex head ratchets. Been beating the hell out of em' everyday professionally for maybe 8 years.. You're right man, it's not always about tooth count. I own fancier gearwrench, SO, and Mac ratchets. And these old Duralasts are what I always reach for. Read about them being SO clones years ago on Garage Journal. But I thought AZ phased them out years ago in favor of a lame Great Neck design or something.
@@brandonward2619I snatched up 2 sets total as the closest thing they have online is either Part Number: 70-020 at $86.99 or 70-021 at $69.99 and you are totally correct about the SO clone info from Garage Journal.
I could get on board with that type of thing Duralast tool truck. They are again running a similar oil change special where you can double deep with the Pennzoil manufacture and AutoZone!
@@user-ki3dj9pu9y Last i came accross some link i did see APEX listed a tool GIANT along with other European brands.... Not sure if Metabo or Hitachi was listed as a tool giant as well. My question is there tools actually branded APEX to the tool itself because i have not seen any??
Picked up the ultra compact 3/8" ratchet and the 1/4" SAE set last year, good stuff I think why the different drives on the locking pliers is one group of those are the "Made in Taiwan" (with the all metal lock releases) and the others are "Made in China" (with the blue plasti-dip lock releases) It's like the combi-wrenches, if they've got the blue or red "dots" and single stroke "Duralast" logo, they're "Made in Taiwan". If they've got double stroke font and no "dots", they're made in China.
Reyzar !!!! I’ll have to go back again and check what they have left they have been cleaning house with clearance on stuff moving in a different China Duralast product rather then the made in Taiwan stuff. Still the same warranty just different manufacturer.
@@ClientGraphics All gone chain-wide as of today... I bought a whole chest full of the outgoing tools. The new stuff is standard Apex like at the big box hardware stores.
MRI Man They sure would be better in 6pt however they stopped making them about 5yrs ago and god only knows why. Wait till I do my Tool Box Duralast Socket drawer it’s some good stuff.
They don’t have the socket sets in boxes at my local store, wish they did. I’ve been devoted to old Craftsman , some SK which is above Snap On in my opinion, but lately I’ve been racking up on Gear Wrench, and certain duralast products. Got a nice 3/8 drive set, all Standard and Deep sizes, metric & sae from 1/4 to 7/8 ams 6mm to 19 deep was 6 to 23, great set for the price
I have been amazed and very happy with Duralast tools. Not sure if all the quality is still there on certain tools but I bought a lot of their tools almost 20 years ago and still have them. In fact, I use there ratchets, sockets and wrenches professionally all the time. Their newer long pattern wrench sets are very similar to the more expensive USA tool brands and in my opinion for the money/lifetime warranty - every bit as good. I have used all the top brands SK, Proto, Wright, Craftsman, Hazet, MAC, Matco, Snapon etc, etc.
Awesome channel!
Thank you for watching and subscribing
Duralast ratchet are actually really good quality I have had them for nearly ten years as a mechanic

I need some locking pliers.
Duralast 4 in 1 wrenches are crap now
Can you buy me a set I'll send you the money.
The wish I could, all the stores around me have moved out the old Taiwan Duralast and moved in the China version.
@@ClientGraphics Dang, I managed to get a 1/2 and 3/8 ratchet from an AutoZone in Mexico
You better snatch up that 4 ratchet piece set. My local autozone says that they are clearancing them out. Once they are gone that's it.
I wonder how the lifetime warranty will work with these sets if they are getting rid of them.
@@drevil5546 They will probably give you a newer version ratchet that is 72 teeth.

Can't find that 700057 # on their site. Too bad. Ida bought that set for $40.

These sound similar to the new made in USA Williams ratchets which are relatively inexpensive and have the old 36 teeth snap on internals. I love mine
I have a lot of duralast tools,I get them with my points
Love those 15mm 1/4" sockets they have. Hard to find a 15mm 1/4". I use them a lot. Eg: GM transfer case nuts on top.
Duralast should have their own tool truck runnin around.

I wish they still sold these rats they are the best auto parts store rats I've ever owned
Ey this channel is dope. On those duralast sets wouldn't the metric sockets set be better if they were 6pt not 12?

Don’t sleep on duralst tools
I've been buying full synthetic for $2.79/qt. STP oil filter is garbage.
Duralast is definitely the midpoint between cheap Pittsburgh and pricey Snap On.
Do you know of another company makes this 3/8 ratchet. AutoZone discontinued.
The smallest head 1/4" directional levers are exceedingly rough. I took it back to AZ.

When it’s pennzoil is it really worth the savings
Yeah, I love me some duralast
👍👍👍👍
Got that Lil 3/8 on sale for 10$...it’s great for doing stuff in the driveway, to not have to worry about 2 different drive sizes is nice
Andy Opshinsky That’s a great deal as they retail for $20. I would purchase another couple if they were that price.
I got mine for a steal at 5 dollars. Autozone had a 75 percent off deal on some of their hand tools.
Great video!
