@@NeilRedfern I think I’ve learned more from your videos in the last few days than I’ve learned from any other BTS video. Thanks for all those how to videos!
Neil, you are a great teacher! Thank you for your videos. They are a great help. I was on the fence about the Godox flash and MagMod products but no longer! Brilliant!
Thanks so much for this video Neil. Excellent demo on controlling the light using grids & a snoot. Very clearly explained w/ settings and image comparisons. You are the best Neil!
Hello, sir. Thank you for reinforcing the need to use modifiers to help shape the light source of OCF. I feel very fortunate to have discovered your videos. A happy new subscriber.
wow..just discovered you today Neil..this was so educational and loved your Q+A vid, especially the answer about not worrying so much about high ISO....great stuff and of course I immediately subbed..thanks !
Neil wonderful video, I have been using Magmod Magsphere now for so much, and I have the gel packs and magbounce, but I want to learn so much more. I also use Godox V860ii and I shoot with Fuji X-T30 and X-T4, I am wanting to step up my game now and learn OCF. You have a new sub and yes I love Magmod. Question, I have the speedlite what do you recommend I add to my inventory I am defiantly getting another Proffesional lite kit and 1 Snoot, But what additional light AD200 or ?? I am a wedding and Portrait Photographer
Magmod is king de best ! Good video brother I started to use Magmod only I dump all my sodtbixes for my wedding business I do have the magbox soft box 📦 I use that for more portrait headshots Magmod is king 🤴 de best
I totally agree Hector! This was the first time I had done an experiment like this and even I was surprised at just what a huge difference the modifiers made! Thank you for watching :)
Thank you very much, that is very kind. God questions - no, I don't use anything like that as I fix white balance in post - plus I rarely like the "correct" white balance, I usually prefer to shooting at a warmer kelvin on purpose
When you were summing up at the end I realised you left the flash zoomed at 200mm and how much brighter/concentrated it looked. Do you always have the flash fully zoomed like that when you’re using grids or snoots?
Hi Allan, good question. Yes, in general I do tend to have the speedlights zoomed in, because as you can see the snoot/grid overrides the 200mm anyway to something much more like 400mm so you may as well have the speedlight zoomed in. I hope that makes sense?
very nice tuto. i have just discovered magmod and have now magbox, magsnoot, magbeam, maggrid and i am fan... However, I am just wondering, is it different using two grids on site than making a good photograph with 105mm zoomed flash and adding several graduated filters and radial filters exposure -0.5 + vignette in post production under lightroom ?
Just received a MagMod starter kit and a V860 11. I must say though, I'm really disappointed with the V860 11, the banding pattern it produces, especially zoomed in is awful. But loving the MagMod and your channel of course. All the best, Andy.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!! Very kind of you!

Brilliant. Magmod should have this sort of info on their website. Really shows the value of their products.
Thank you so much Lee, much appreciated
You are a life saver. I have multiple items and didn’t realize all I needed was the grids. I love Magmod and ad200.

Thanks bro
I love your vídeos. how and when do you use magbounce?
Thank you so much! I haven't really used the MagBounce I'm afraid - I should try and use it more
Amazing 👍
Thank you Manish!
Neil, since you have some of the best videos on OCF, and Gelling, do you ever use an Expodisc for color balance?
Thank you very much, that is very kind. God questions - no, I don't use anything like that as I fix white balance in post - plus I rarely like the "correct" white balance, I usually prefer to shooting at a warmer kelvin on purpose

Thank you very much Marc! It could be but I try to get the image as close to how I want it in camera as I can, rather than doing too much in Lightroom
great Video!
Very kind, thank you Ron!
Interesting vid. Question, would you use grids for the shooting the reception at a wedding?
Thank you! Yes I would, if I am using speedlights indoors I almost always use a grid or a snoot
Tnx NEIL, i want to work with you. THANK YOU.
Thank you very much!

you must have post a sample photos using that gear so we can justify how good your modifier ....ok ....
My whole channel is about that 😊
Zooming the Speedlite is meant to increase the reach, not to narrow the beam 😉
Incorrect - it is there to adjust the spread of the light to suit the focal length you are using ;-)
NO... Neil me ole bud you start your videos with...... "Lets Crack On" .......thats your strapline :-) sorry mate you did say it LOL
Haha! Of course ;-) I don't know how or why I have started to say that though!
