No, because Threatening Roar still lets them enter the Battle Phase. You have to stop it entirely with Thunder of Ruler.
Yes threatening roar can still be stopped by stuff like dignity....thunder of ruler could be the wave

Meteoragon + Mountain is really funny as a generic side package. Its quick access to a decent main deck beat stick.

War Rock are actually way more good than what people think if played correctly. Since we have now 3x Medium, 3 Mountain (+1 Terraforming), 1 ROTA and the deck can run easily 3x Extravagance you can litterally just play the minimum number of monster and fill the deck of the most annoying trap of the format.
This is my list right now but I'm still trying to perfect it:

(* gactos is, unironically, probably the worst war rock monster for the deck, except you need it if you don't open mountain as every war rock need to give 200 atk to other wr to resolve if they are killed by battle)
It's of course far from being a tier 1 deck ahah but I can regularly beat meta decks with this list (even tearlaments) and it's a thing that a lot of decks that are considered better than war rocks can't really do
I was thinking this could be a really good serialized series, too. Every week you get a budget to buy cards and add to your deck from last week. Basically just actually playing Yu-Gi-Oh and being broke lol
The only downside I see to this is someone inting one week so they can get a key expensive card like Halq and then throw away the rest of the money on a trash deck, and then next week having an advantage because they got a free Halq. It would take fine number tuning to make sure that can only net someone one loss and then one win at best, but then it just wouldn't be that fun to watch.
@@xuspirahopte5549 ehh just don't let the loser get a free card, they can have like an extra dollar or something like that to try and claw back a little extra advantage.

It was cool seeing Farfa win with War Rocks in this episode. War Rocks as an archetype had potential, but they kind of got screwed over by Konami. Being focused around the battle phase isn’t the worst thing, the problem is War Rocks do very little outside of the battle phase. They would need a card that forces the opponent into the battle phase to give the deck a little more bit help. One thing I love to do is look at archetypes that need support and try to figure out what they would need to be meta relevant. I have an idea for a card that could help War Rocks, that I got from a post on Reddit that was talking bout how to salvage the archetype and someone had the idea of giving them a card that made it so the opponent could only activate card effects in the battle phase. I thought it over for a bit and this is what I came up with:
War Rock Siege
Continuous Spell
If you control a face-up “War Rock” monster, pay 1000 Life Points and your opponent cannot activate card effects, except during the Battle Phase. As long as there is a face up “War Rock” monster on your side of the field, this card cannot be destroyed by your opponents card effects. You can only control 1 “War Rock Siege”.
Would this fix “War Rock” or would it just be a band-aid for,the archetype?
That would fix it all right. That would turn it from a cave man throwing a rock, to the fucking death star. That is way over tuned considering most cards can’t be played during the battle phase anyway. 100x more powerful than Mystic Mine. I think literally Pankratops and Cosmic might be the only outs, and they can be negated by Dignity.
If we want to go that route, I think a more powerful version of Medium could work.
Something like, {War Rock Rites of Passage} “All Earth Warrior monsters you control are unaffected by card effects except during Main Phase 2. All non-“War Rock” monsters cannot activate their effects unless they have battled a monster at least once. This card is unaffected by card effects as long as you control the monster with the highest attack on the field.”
I giggled at the statement "force your opponent into the battle phase" implying you'd have a card that read "Your opponent MUST conduct their battle phase."
@@alisethera9349 That works as well. War Rock is kind of tricky to fix.
What they need is a free/extra summon or link 1 that smooths out its initial board play. Or add something leveled up versions of the others kinds like Fortia becomes Meteoragon, which would be thematic. Would be cool to see an Old Man Bashielos Link-X, like his design in War Rock Generations, where he has a beard and is fighting Meteoragon.
Giving war rock stronger mystic mine with no downside would make the deck much more playable

It is. You have to find that fun build that actually works. Its also a deck thats let's you police the damage step and battle phase.

i was gonna play war rocks in master duel once because i saw a video on it and they seemed pretty fun. But they are quite expensive, so i haven't gotten around to it yet
Medium should give you alittle bit more... motivation. It's a funny speed trap card. Then with Terminal World, that eliminates the Phase 2. It just cucks any deck that actually need to monster effects to proc on board.
@@DirtCheapFU card's not in mastef duel though. And when it gets added in a selection pack, i assume it will be at least a super. So another pack you have to go into. Don't wanna spend 90 SR cp on it
