They need to begin now to build a third island next to the two existing ones that will have new runways and terminal twice as high as it needs to be. It opens about the time they begin loosing the others. Shut one or both of the original islands to begin raising it/them to the level of the new island.
Maybe they could engineer a floating facility of barges, stacked and layered, anchored to huge piers with the complete infrastructure designed to withstand a rogue wave and rough seas.

"Imagine showing up for your flight and the airport's.. sinking! Hats off to Japan for not just throwing in the (beach) towel. Here's hoping their engineering wizards keep it above water-literally! Who knew an airport could be this dramatic?"
japan is great country and japan will fix airport perfectly because japan is very very advanced country in engineering and construction for very very long time.
It works well with HK airport, so it's doable when doing "correctly". Kansai is built without sufficient understanding of all the challengers it's going to face, and valuable lessons for similar projects. More airport is likely to be built at sea due to congestion, noise and particle pollution, space constraint with urban center close sea, and no viable unoccupied suburb area to build on.
If they can save the airports, Japan will fix them and build it a lot better but sometimes airports crash down under the water. There's no way they won't save it in time due to the shrinking water with high level sea gets even worse.
My very first thought was "Why put it that far offshore?" But then I remembered I'm a surfer and Japan is a fishing culture and those to things are very closely related. What's more important? Food? Or an airport?
While I too think this is a good idea. What I am understanding to be the primary issue is the island is sinking due to weight on the island and not from the sea.

It was a smart idea because it solves so many of the problems, but as we’ve almost almost everything in life, your greatest strength is your greatest weakness. Airports like Inchon and Hong Kong did the right thing by building on or near existing islands and using the existing foundation to expand.
Sounds like they need to put a floating device underneath the airport and make it a floating airport and not to rely on the ground to keep it stable only rely on inflatable supports that go underneath the airport
I think one of the topics that deserves to be produced in a film is Saudi Arabia’s completion of projects whose implementation some people doubted and which began to receive tourists, such as the Sindalah Island project, the Sheybarah Resort, the Nujuma Resort, a Ritz-Carlton Resort, the Six Senses Southern Dunes Resort, and the St. Regis Red Sea Resort, and there are projects nearing completion such as Desert Rock Resort, Shura Resort, and AMAALA project. Kansai Airport, built on an artificial island in Japan, is sinking faster than expected. The video explores its construction, challenges, and efforts to save it. Despite ongoing issues, the airport remains operational but faces an uncertain long-term future.
i find it hard to understand why seizing land was less appealing to the japanese government than having to build an airport in the middle of the ocean, especially considering global warming. surely there is some empty unpopulated space in the region

Completely renovate and build up the farthest area first.. Then keep renoing and building up on the way to the mainland..

I have a great idea based on revolutionary scientific method how to save this airport, but....i'm keeping it to myself!
I think its better if the airport was floating above the water and kept in place. This way they even can relocate the airport if necessary.
Yeah, moving airport runway is exactly what you need when you are landing
I think they should build the airport on solid ground, that's was what land is for !! Right ?
just use Samsung 36" 23 cu.ft. Bespoke Counter Depth 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with Family Hub to lift the island
They will probably build a third island and use its capacity to shut down each of the other islands while building it higher.
Who can fight and beat Godzilla can even master this 😊
Why didn't they use pilons on top of bedrock instead of clay?
Yes it can be saved, It's Japan
