I wish there were more people that did mobile home renos not even as just flip houses but to be paid to come in to help people reno they need more shows on single and double wide renos love your video great job guys I love it ..❤
Yes! Seeing the process for those types of cabinets would be amazing! Would love to see more DIY’s too. And I absolutely love the transformation on this one!
@@livinghoperenovations9353did you ever get the chance to record a video redoing some? We’re about to buy a 1993 trailer and the cabinets definitely need to be painted.
I like this bc it is what a normal person can do for renovations. Thank you for not showing a ridiculously large house that "normal" people do not have.
I am remodeling my mobile home now. Mine is a 2010, and it's time for an upgrade. Now that all my kids are grown and have moved. I'm so excited and glad I found this video
My mother-in-law lived in a mobile home almost identical to this one. It is amazing what you have done. And I love the white. It makes the home look bigger. Great job!
I just did all of mine. I wanted to replace them, but thanks to lumber costs, I used caulk paint and clear coated them. They have been holding up so far and look really good. Really depends what you have. Mine were paper coated MDF and so I couldn't sand and paint. Use a high adhesion primer, and paint after. It actually looks really good and was all less then $150 including the hardware.
When we remodeled our 1885 cottage we used shiplap for a backsplash and on walls and ceiling. Love it. Happy to see someone did this, I think the contractor thought we were a little crazy!
this is almost exactly the same layout as my 85 singlewide. different size windows, my sink is in the corner where your shelves are. this motivates me in all the right ways and proves i can too have a dishwasher :) thank you guys!!
Thank you for sharing. We are renovating a single wide of our own and the people left holes in the walls and most of the cabinet doors broke. Your wired front cabinets are a GREAT way to fix this problem without having to replace All of the damaged ones we have. Thank you for the idea :)
White is my favorite. Cool, crisp, clean, neutral. Put pops of color with it. You did a nice job. White was not a mistake. I painted my place all white, all doors, windows, trim, ceilings, walls, cupboards.
Loving the cabinet with the mesh. They used to have free standing cabinets like that that were called pie safes. Because you can put baked goods ( pies) in there to cool. It turned out so well.
I love my single wide and trying to upgrade on a VERY tight budget. I'm starting with stripping off the "trailer strips" in all the walls. Looks more like a home. Any tips on doing this for a professional look?
This is GORGEOUS. I would love to see how you put the ceiling up. It's not popcorn..yaay Love that. Also would love the see how you did the shiplap for the backslash. The white is PERFECT!!!
Yes would love to see the cabinet painting. We just bought an 80s trailer & it has the wood paneling closets. Trying to decide whether to & if we can paint them.
Loved this! I’ve lived in my mobile home for about 35 years. It was built in 1970’s. I’ve done very few few updates. My brother who’s done a lot of fixes for me is very handy dyi guy but finds it frustrating working in a mobile home because there are so many construction differences from a house. He’s going to attempt installing new floors. I like the ones you installed! And I’d like him to plaint my ugly cabinets. Very interested in see a video of that. You can’t find a lot a mobile home renovation videos. Appreciate what you’re doing!
I watched the video and am looking for the flooring information you discussed in the beginning of the video. I live in Oregon and am interested in waterproof vinyl flooring. Thanks for any information
Really looks like you just painted it white throughout added a few fixtures in the kitchen and laid new floor .............amazing what a difference such a simple reno can make!
We are in the upper midwest. Buyers would be looking at $150k - $200k for that trailer in our rural area on 1/2 acre which is about the smallest lot one can get not in a park. We are rehabbing a mid 70’s single wide 14 x 70 we bought in 2002 as vacation home. More people should be considering them as they are starting out or downsizing to for single people instead of apartment living. There is so much you can do with them and they are pretty simple to work on. Today the modular homes are crazy expensive.
Wish I could do this . single momma of 4 and I’ve thought about buying a trailer and remodeling it nicely to have our little home and now be $350k in debt I live in Florida . But to find someone who can do all the work would be hard . Absolutely beautiful 😍 came out so nice
Hi there, this is the first video I've watched of yours. I like what you did to the mobile home. I just recently bought a single wide for our son. It is all origanal. My questions are, 1. Please tell me the process to paint the cabinets? 2. Did you paint the window trim black or did they come like that? 3. Is there any helpful hints on painting the paneling? 4. What kind of paint was used on the ceiling? Cabinets? Walls? Thanks fir the video it has inspired me. I think getting your advice can save me money and time. Thanks so much
We've just purchased a mobile home that we will reno. The kitchen is a must. I would love to know what we need to do to the cabinets to paint them. Thanks so much
Being a Baby Boomer, of course we have more knowledge about the older homes. The one thing I love about older homes, is that you would get all the cute little extras like the shelves by the bar, in the living room. Also, you would get front eat in kitchens like this one, and many had curio cabinets and broom closets. I love those cabinets next to the windows, not only do they add charm to the kitchen, but all that storage!! You guys did a great job, plus kept the integrity of the original look and floor plan. So many People today want to start knocking down walls and create one big room.
Hi Guys, great Reno! Just a couple of ideas, since you kept the original counters, it might have flowed better to have chosen the flooring that would match closest, even though I agree that floor colour is lovely! Also choosing a cupboard pull/knob in a warm metal ie: bronze would marry the flooring to the countertops. Black with white is such a beautiful classic, but you also are integrating the warm brown tones due to the countertops. Overall beautiful Reno on a tight budget. Well Done!!! 👍
Declutter( seriously). Clean everything( seriously). Paint everything a single color( light, white or pale). Replace all floors. Fix all obvious problems( leaks, holes, windows, roof, mechanics, etc). Be prepared for the reno to take longer & cost more than expected & to run into more problems than planned for. Good luck.😊
This was super well done. I've seen the before video and had a pretty good idea of what you accomplished but it would be great to see before pics spliced in with the after video to fully appreciate what has been done here.
Thank you for the video! My husband and I just purchased an older double-wide. The floors need to be redone. I do not see a link or information on the flooring you used in this renovation. Can you please share that with me. Also, appliances, including the stove and dishwasher need to be replaced. Would the floors go in first? Thanks and GREAT job on this project! :)
This turned out beautifully! I love it that you paint it all white; it looks so clean and new, and exactly what I would want to see if I was in the market to purchase. For people who scoffed that you could sell that home for $45k, there is a 1984 single wide in the park I live in that was no where near as nice as this one; it was in ok shape, but it needed some work done. It ended up selling for $55,500. You would be hard pressed to find a mobile home in this park cheaper than that. The market is insane right now! This really turned out good though, I love every bit of it! My mobile home is a 1981, and it has the same butcher block counter tops....I painted them 2 years ago to look like granite, and they turned out so good! They are holding up great, so I’m very glad I did it. I also really like those mesh cupboards you have in there too! I think that was a good call to leave them. I really hope you’ll continue these renovations with the befores and afters like you’re doing. I would love to see some DIY projects too, specific to mobile homes, like how to paint the cabinets like you mentioned. I’m sure you would have a lot of projects you could think of for some how-to videos. That would be really helpful to people like me who have older mobile homes maybe, or whatever you could think of. I need to replace a bathroom window in the master bath, and I can’t afford the $600 I was quoted for the install, so I’m wondering if I could maybe do it myself?? Lol! But I’m clueless, so I don’t know what I’ll do. Anyway, those are just my thoughts. It was great to see you both on here, I’ve really missed you guys doing this!!
I have a 2006 14x80 MH and I hate it! I personally think the older ones are adorable and more functional. I’ve had many structural issues with my home because of how it was just thrown together! Thank God it’s paid for!
Oh my gosh! Was just about to mention the strips on the walls. That's one of the first things I would have done.. nothing says mobile home like those strips , I hate them.
Hey you guys, I just came across your videos. I have acquired a manufactured home on property I bought in TX. I currently live there and want to update my space. My biggest concerns are the walls, cabinets, and one part of the sub floor where my dad and I had to do some other repair work. I would like to see a video on how to effectively get rid of the seems in the walls and redo my cabinets in the best way possible as well.
Great job! I’d love to see a video on how to paint cabinets. My double wide has cabinets with two surfaces. The back side is white and the front has a plastic paper, “wood look” covering that is loose on some cabinet doors & drawers. Where it meets the back side it has “popped up” & is breaking & coming off. I have thought about replacing all the doors & drawers but know how expensive that would be. Any suggestions? Also, what sort of walls are there? I notice there aren’t any strips.
I had these cabinets also. I painted them about 4 years ago. I just made sure they were clean and used kilz primer, think I did two coats right over the brown paper covering and all. Then two coats of kitchen enamel paint. Seems to be wearing well. What a difference it made.
Please do a show on refinishing mobile home cabinets. Technically is what I need to know also. Want to get started on this project. Thank you so much. Fabulous job on the kitchen you both did. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Here in York, Pennsylvania, that home would be a great deal! Of course, desirability also depends on the home's location and how high the lot rent is. I think y'all did a great job renovating this home, and white is the best choice of color for a flip. I know you mentioned the year, but it would be really helpful to folk if you also mentioned the make and model, if you have it. Someone might really like the layout of one of the homes you flip and want to look for one like it in their area (like me!) Thanks much!!
You can’t go wrong with white! I painted my kitchen and went with white countertops with a high gloss finish. It looks awesome against dark cabinets and mother of pearl backsplash. It reflects light especially with under cabinet lighting. Y’all did a great job with this flip. I live in a single wide as well. You would be surprised at all the hidden storage I’ve created. I usually try to buy or make furniture that allows for hidden storage. Coffee tables, behind the couch roll out cabinets, under bed storage, huge storage bench on the porch, under stairs storage on the porch. Storage benches in between my raised garden beds, and I made lamp post that open to store my garden tools and gloves.
@@SweetserK Sometimes people have tables behind their sofas for lamps or pictures. My sofas are against a wall. I built a slim cabinet the same height as the back of my sofa. It kind of looks like a pullout pantry but you can’t see it when you enter the room 😂. I store my emergency radio, batteries, laptop, chargers etc. in there. No one knows it’s there unless you move the sofa. The lamp post I just built a square column around it that opens like a cabinet.
I received your email about my ‘boring’ comment. I went back and viewed the original video and I was expecting to see the ‘after’, so I was disappointed with all the details. However, I REALLY love the after video and all of the color schemes. The white was the way to go as well as the flooring. Really loved the flooring. You were right in keeping the countertops because after all, you’re not living there and it is all about the profit. I liked the open shelves and the gold wire stuff on the cabinets. Loved the black framed windows - looks very modern. I would have gotten rid of the three light thing in the kitchen with a $30 Home Depot fixture. Overall, great job! The place has probably already been sold and will make a nice home for a family. 👍🏼
This looks TREMENDOUS. I had a question for you. (I think my original text got truncated, so here it is again) We have a single wide at the beach and I will be painting the entire exterior. Ours is a 1978 Buddy and has the original metal exterior, no vinyl siding. My question is, "how did you frame out the exterior of the windows so nicely and can it be done with a metal exterior? I literally thought they were NEW WINDOWS, what an awesome technique. We have the same original horizontal sliding windows and although not thermally efficient, they work just fine (I actually like how they let in so much more air in, than the newer windows we have at our primary residence).
I’m not sure that’s a question. Lol if you are asking if we needed permits for this job, no we didn’t. We didn’t do any moving plumbing or electrical or do anything structural. Don’t need permits for painting and floors 👍🏼🙌🏼
@@livinghoperenovations9353 LOL...I retyped my question. the "permit" text was regarding the HOA Home Improvement Permit I need to obtain first, before I paint (I did not retype that, but that's the context...thx!)
Ahh now I’m following. I haven’t tried adding the framing around the exterior of windows on homes with metal siding. I’m sure it can be done, but you’d likely need to order mobile home specific materials because you probably don’t want wood around the windows if the siding is metal. Just my thought! I have a mobile home store here in Portland up near the airport.
@@livinghoperenovations9353 Thank you for the advice. I was thinking after I paint the home with 2 coats, I could screw in / frame the window with a white paintable moulded high-density urethane foam, like fypon, millwork product. Then seal the perimeter with a silicone paintable caulk? The stuff is super light yet durable. Thoughts?
I’m not familiar with the product but if it’s rated for exterior use and you use your paintable exterior caulk, it could work fine. I would also suggest a Z-metal strip over the top of the window as well, if it’s exposed to weather and not covered.
The house looks great!! I love the shiplap backsplash. I know you said to be nice, but I can’t help but notice how much white paint is on the window borders. If it was up to me, I’d fire the painter. Poor prep job.
Was looking at different decors and came across yours- I chose almost a similar paint by Behr called Dark Storm Cloud and just loved seeing your choice of color, we plan to do the kitchen in all white but the cabinets in the Dark Storm Cloud with rubbed dark Bronze handles, so it's opposite of the living and dining room wall color, awesome job!
Looks amazing. But I have one question. There is a cabinet door over the stove I believe that seems to stay ajar and not close properly why wouldn't you fix that?
Just found this channel and I'm so glad I did!! 😊 Looking to buy a home soon here in WA. prices are ridiculously high but we love it here and wanna make it work for us. We are viewing a few homes this wknd. Trying to get inspo bc I know these trailers would need work. And I don't want to get too far in over my head on a flip. Most vang for buck while still adding value and charm. Also would love ideas for a beach home!? Thanks can't wait to see more videos and ideas. You guys do great!
i am very happy to have come across this video. our home had a lot of damage from hurricane ida, so we are having to redo almost the whole house. we got a new roof so far but we have alot of work to do. this was very inspiring for me and i got some great idea of what to do in our kitchen. i would love to see a video on how to redo the cabinets in a mobile home!!
I want to know how to do those old cabinets. Mine look like they have brown wood looking contact paper on them? And some corners are wearing away and the drawers fall down when you pull them out. Omg. Mine has a corner built in cabinet with the chain link door! Amazing.
This mobile home is almost identical (especially the kitchen and cabinets) to the one we lived in about 28 years ago! The bedroom layout and bathroom are different. Even the laundry area is identical to ours. I wonder how many other mobile homes there are with almost the same layout as this!
Omg I would love for you to come renovate mine!!! I'm a single mom and just bought this after my mom passed and it's alot!! I have no idea what I'm doing lol...
New sub so I haven't watched all your videos but id love to see more videos on specific things (diy/how to)... Like painting the cabinets, fixing a small section of water damaged floors, etc. Thank you for sharing!!

I will love to see more details of how you doing. Material that you use and how you doing, so we really can learn in case we want to try to do it . I like all your videos. Sadly you are in Oregon because I’m in California and I will love if you guys can transform my place.
Nice finish! You should consider refinishing the tub and surround white. Don’t know the cost of that in your area but I’m a refinisher out here in Pittsburgh and I charge $800 to make it white.
You guys done a awesome job, I've got a single wide mobile home and it's falling apart around me literally, I'm wanting to do some work on it to fix it up but don't know where to start do you have any advice?
You can start by painting, that instantly gives it a lift and it's instant gratification. If it has more work, I would definitely advise you to do one room at a time and do lots of research if you are doing it DIY. Best of luck! My first house was like that and we were able to redo it by tackling that way.

Thank you so much for the video. We have an older mobile home and I was curious about what could be done to update it. Thank you again 💖
Great video. I didn’t see a link for the flooring. Do you have it please
Wow Tamara! I never would have thought of storage in lamp posts. Curious what your behind the couch roll out storage cabinets are.

Sometimes people have tables behind their sofas for lamps or pictures.
Can you please tell us how you painted it? Sanding? Just painting? Primer?
Do you have a video on how to paint the siding? If it’s possible.. or any advice?
Nice video! You guys really flowed through the presentation nicely. Thank you!
I would really like to see the cabinet painting process please. In your experience, does it stay nice over the years?
Unfortunately being flippers we rarely get to see the project years later. Not sure how long it holds up.
Do you guys just used plain white paint for celing and walls?? It looks great to me. Do you mind sharing whay type of white paint color u use!
The house looks great!! I love the shiplap backsplash.
I know you said to be nice, but I can’t help but notice how much white paint is on the window borders. If it was up to me, I’d fire the painter. Poor prep job.
I like the kitchen and with white walls it will make it seem bigger rather than a darker color. Good choice.
Dude, I want you to flip my tiny old mobile home! You did an amazing job!!!
Nice work. And you're right - gray is depressing.
I want to see a video of you helping a family in desperate need finish remodeling a single wide mobile home. ❤️❤️
And I know just the family!!!
I think it turned out great! I really like the gold on those cabinets. Nice choice in leaving those on there!
Thank you!
The counter tops I love! Sometimes the old stuff is better.
Turned out great. Yes would love to see how to do the cupboards and what is needed to paint walls and ceilings.
Hey guys, new to your channel. I'm currently working on 2 double wides and would like to see a vid on the kitchen cabinet painting process.
Did a wonderful job I have a double wide and want to paint the walls and get rid of the popcorn ceilings how would I go about it?
Omg I would love for you to come renovate mine!!! I'm a single mom and just bought this after my mom passed and it's alot!! I have no idea what I'm doing lol...
this is so beautiful. i could see like a single mother & daughter living there.
Or son?
New sub so I haven't watched all your videos but id love to see more videos on specific things (diy/how to)... Like painting the cabinets, fixing a small section of water damaged floors, etc. Thank you for sharing!!
I just bought a single wide it has these funny “flower” things on the ceiling… what would you recommend I do? Ceilings are white and in good shape.
What year make model whatever of home is this . I love the kitchen and the windows it's the one I want . And can you put those windows in a different home
They got lucky with the windows and counters being nice. Especially for that era
Love it but I personally would want the laundry cabinets painted to match the rest of the house.
I would love to know how you did the cabinets; because I would love to redo mine thanks. It looks great
Thank you! We’ll be sure to film that DIY next time we get those cabinets
@@livinghoperenovations9353 Okay thanks.
