He used to have the same technique on both hands but had to switch to push-pull on his left because of wrist problems, he explained that a while ago. He mastered that technique so fast it makes him look even more insane.
And that is why I adore him. He is a fellow Austrian and he masters every technique that you can actually achieve. Heel-Toe, Push-Pull, Swiveling... This guy does it all!
Btw the reason he keeps his toms in such a flat angle is because it forces him to sit as straight as he can, means not hurting his back somehow (out of a Marthyn Jovanovic - analysis from one of David's playthroughs) Really suggest doing this too, works really fine
Yeeaah. So many drummers understate the importance of sitting back straight. First of all.. it helps with the balance, second.. you'll stay healthy and avoid unwanted muscle & joint pains. Pls fellow drummers, sit back straight and then adjust the kit that you can play like that. It'll be all for the best.
Murat Diril actually is the creator of the Byzance line of cymbals. So they actually are the best Meinl's Samus. You know, cause you play them all the time.
I think he is also the mastermind behind Meinl‘s MB20 Series. In my opinion these are/were the best metal cymbals ever build, loud an aggressive as hell, I really love them.

Yeah Murat Diril is the guy that used to work for Meinl or zildjian or that was his brother or something , I remember back in the day like 15 years ago when he started the Murat Diril brand and drummers from Portugal forums used to contact him and ask for a load of cymbals and share the postage ! They used to work for Istanbul Cymbals before it split to Agop and Mehmet, then worked for Meinl (Byzance series) and Paiste (Twenty series) and now both of them have their own brand - Ibrahim has Diril Cymbals, and Murat has Murat Diril Cymbals.

Bryce is the best boi. Known him for years and he’s always been an absolute beacon of light in the Dallas music scene. He’s so deserving of all of the hype he’s gotten more recently.

My cymbals for playing shows are all Murat Diril and they are the nicest cymbals I've ever played aside from a Soultone ride cymbal I had custom made, nothing tops them in my book.
Shannon really influenced me (Alan is incredible too with regards to this!!) in terms of having relaxed/perfect technique & precision despite playing extremely challenging & fast music. It's like the faster & more intense the playing, the cleaner & more calculated the drummer should be to murder the song without hurting themselves.
That's the producer's dream, placing cymbals higher gets rid of a lot of the bleed coming into the tom and top snare mics, but of course the drummer is the one who has to adapt to this type of set up, although David looks very comfy regardless of cymbal hight...

Davíd has been my top drummer for about 4 years too. Have also had lessons in the DTA. He cannot be touched for sheer perfect chops. There are a handful of drummers that can play nearly as good.
The first video I ever saw from David was his Cryptopsy cover, and he was smiling and not sweating…I thought he was a robot. Lol His time with Czarcie was VERY short. ACD seems to be stealing dudes away from the “big” companies.
Being in the film industry I’m pretty sure he’s using a Ronin! It’s a Camera with a Gib attached to it! It’s amazing! Around 10-12k! Check them out! A lot of indy short ,music vid and feature film guys all use it! The VFX guys have a short saber battle film and the makings of it shows the Ronin at its best!
He isn’t a metal drummer, but could you react to Adam Deich? He’s insane and it may help you reach out to drummers who wouldn’t usually watch your videos (if you care about that) I just think Adam Deich is a monster.
