Mmmm I feel like I can taste it . I've only grown up on cornmeal , plantain , & peanut porridge . I feel like condensed milk will be a yummy alternative to reg sugar . I gotta ask if my grandad knows how to make this . Is labouyi strictly cream of wheat or is it an umbrella term for all types of porridge ? I don't speak creole 😩 I'm a shame , I know 😫
It’s a term for all porridge’s! I also grow up eating cornmeal, flour and plantain porridge. My mom introduce us to cream of wheat porridge when we got to the U.S. and we loved it! Condensed milk is basically evaporated milk & sugar! I use it sometimes in my porridge but it’s still taste the same.
I ain’t neva seen someone know wat labouyi is except my momma,it’s soo good😳idk if she uses cream of wheat when she makes it,but we Haitian btw,wat are you guys?
Lesson 101, Labouyi translated in English means soft food made by boiling meal of grains or legumes in milk or water until thick. Si’w tap suiv, shanèl mwen-an ; ou tap wè tout lòt resèt labouyi yo!!! Mwen se yon fanm Ayisyèn natif natal!!! Sispan’ avèk mantalite Pam pi bon-an ! I am Not sure if you read creole, so let me counting in English! Read the title it didn’t say cream of Wheat was the authentic Haitian porridge. I said let me show you how to make Haitian style cream of wheat porridge! Don’t only read the title but understand what it is saying! Thanks for commenting!!

What was the star thing you added at :34?
@@charleyyoung262 .. It is called star anise. Its a aromatic, similar to cinnamon sticks but has a unique flavor.
@@dorannette26 O.K. Thank you for getting back. Happy 4th of July to you!
@@charleyyoung262 your so welcome!
How much water do you start off with in the pot.
I did not measure but no much because you will be adding milk.
Can you explain again what you did in the bowl please?
Add water to bowl of cream of wheat and stir until smooth, then pour into hot boiling water while stirring
Just one thing can you please put exact measurements
The amount of extract you use will depend on the amount of porridge your making. You can begin with a little bit and add more if needed.
Exact, Extract, either way you got answer 😂. Sorry you didn’t get a ❤️ because you dared to ask.
Very good ❤
Thank you love!!
