How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RUclips videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

I always take photos of my luggage once packed before I check my bags… so if these go missing you have photos to give the airline. Def recommend lounges for international flights

I once saw two bright pink suit cases rolling out of the plane's hold. One had "RANE" written on it, in huge block letters on both sides, and the other one said "KAITSU". I'm sure Rane and Kaitsu always find their luggage on the belt.

Only discovered your account a few weeks ago as I'm currently planning my first solo backpacking trip to Thailand at the end of next month and your content has been so incredibly helpful! Everyone who I mention it to lately has been giving me random advice but it's so much more reassuring coming from someone I know has been there and done the things that are on my list 😃Thank you for making me feel a lot more confident in my ability to do this 😅

That boots click and collect is GENIUS!!!!! Also, a lot of modern airports have machines now where you put in your car reg and they'll tell you where it is :p

Been travelling for a decade, the boots one is very smart 👏 Art of kindness at airports is ssssooooo true, I've had so much kindness returned just by treating airport staff like humans.

Also make sure you have a decent amount of battery in your phone so it has not run out by the time you get to the gate (for E-boarding pass). I turn my brightness down and turn off any notifications/ roaming that I don’t need. A power bank is also good in case you can’t get on a charging station. I often do the car park pic even just shopping in the U.K.

Many airports (Seoul, Taipei, etc.) have free showers air side, but towels are not always available. On long haul flights with a layover, I always bring a small, lightweight towel in my carry on in case I can have a shower between flights to freshen up. Of course, it helps to have a change of underthings too. Thrift stores/op shops/charity shops are a good place to buy a cheap towel that you can toss when you are done. Cheers.

Omg, I travel so much so I thought I would already know any airport hacks, but getting things delivered to boots after security and stuffing a neck cushion with bikinis are both genious haha I'm definitely going to do these!!
Yess airtags are the best, I've also been using these for my last few trips, its so reassuring to know my bag is around! I love using it to check that my bag is actually still on the bus when I take busses between cities!

Just a heads up if anyone does the hack for click & collect at boots, I had done it for Edinburgh Airport for the first time back in April but there was one problem with it. I ordered the items to collect on my flight day and it wasn't there when I went, the reason was it gets delivered the same day in the afternoon (I had an early morning flight). I was told it's best to order it for delivery to the store a couple days before and it will sit there until you're ready to collect. I then had to rummage through the store to grab the things I wanted but unfortunately most of it was out of stock and it left me little time to chill out before my flight.

tip for parking (if it's a normal parking lot instead of a garage), pin you google maps location in your phone! and share it with whoever you're traveling with! it's pretty precise and you'll be able to find you car back in a sec! :)

And never put medicine into checked luggage.

Great reminders and thank you for the Borooks idea, and neck pillow (brilliant!!) I typically travel pretty light (checked or carry on) with the liquids but all depentant of the locations i suppose. Neck pillow idea is perfect for my return flight from my upcomming trip to Indonesia! I would have never thought of that. Keep up the awesome videos! 🩷

As someone who's flown nearly every summer for 15 years, i would caution the slip-on shoes with: make sure they're comfortable. Please. Nothing worse than trying to haul your luggage to a five minute layover in shoes that are falling off your feet.

#1 find an airport with free motorcycle parking. I.e avoid Manchester & Stansted like a plague of ebola.
#2 avoid ryanair like a similar plague of ebola.
#3 baggage - don't buy the baggage packages wait until the later part of booking a flight to buy what you need.

Always check-in online if you can so that you don't fall victim of your flight being overbooked. Also, if you happen to be a nervy flyer pay for a priority seat in the front of an aircraft (there you won't feel turbulence as much).
