@@pastorburris Yes, but I noticed more the need to point out many different non-Christian resources. It's why I offered what I did. Too many these days seem to want some form of verifiable proof of the truths of the Scriptures, finding the ark of Noah, historical documentation, archeological evidence. Hence my reply. By faith. “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Rom. 1:17)
@@borrowedtruths6955 I think because many God haters such as atheists constantly attack the veracity of the Bible. They try to say we have no proof and it is all a fairytale, but when we can prove them wrong historically, with the writings of even non believers, it exposes their biases. A non believer will accept the secular writings of others that have copies from long after these writings were written, yet they reject the Bible. We must expose these contradictions in their thinking. I agree, ultimately it comes down to faith, because even when you point out these facts to unbelievers, they will reject them, but we must try. I know from experience that I have overcome atheist arguments by citing such sources as Josephus.
Pliny the Younger’s letter is cool (but also dark) in that it refutes the idea a couple of hyper-critical scholars have put forth that maybe early Christian persecutions were overblown by later Christian. Pliny’s letter to Trajan gives a pretty horrific description of torture and murder of Christians. It’s a moving witness to the staunchness of early Christian belief and to their perseverance in extreme suffering. Ditto for Tacitus’ account of Nero’s persecution.
Thank you so much, again. God bless you. I am going to keep this video in my stockpile of sources so that when I come up against atheists, I will have them at the ready.
“We have an embarrassment of riches”….. What a statement! Tremendous upload as always! Thank you for your study + time in preparation of these videos! Keep plowing! Sola Scriptura
Great video, as usual. Some of the same arguments can be found in Peter J. Williams’ Can We Trust the Gospels? It’s only 162 pages and fleshes out some of the points you made but could not fully develop because of time constraints. Of course, the sources you cited in the video are considerably more in-depth and excellent. Thanks so much for the video.
I didn’t make that argument anywhere in my video, did I? Nope. Now if you combine number of witnesses with the six other points I made in the video, you will have provided legitimate reasoning to assert that a statement is true. Please, do better than this if you are going to make it challenging for me.
@@pastorburris Challenging you? WOW, What my cousin's friend's roommate saw, is not a reliable witness, The Mormon church has signed affidavits, The catholic church has 2000 years of witnesses for Mary apparitions and miracles, thousands of witnesses for alien abductions, the Loch Ness Monster, Chupacabra, Yeti, The splitting of the Moon had witness, also Gautama Buddha's miracles. But I guess you don't believe those? Witnesses are people and people manipulate, exaggerate, forget, and misremember all the time. Arguing that the books of the bible are an accurate or reliable record is a disingenuous, misleading, or simply uneducated and dogmatic view. As it is in 2024 we do not know what Jesus really said or what he did.
It was a point about transmission of historical documents. And yes, if you have 6,000 copies that all say the same thing, it suggests that there was no corruption of the original source documents by later copyists. It’s step 1 of an historiographical argument about the reliability of a document. And obviously he goes through several more steps in the process.
Yep. We have a Bible we can trust. Ever heard of Joel Kramer? His channel is Expedition Bible. Archeologist and Talbot grad. Grew up in the middle east. Take a look at the first mention of Israel outside the Bible. Dates back to the period of the judges and confirms it. Just take a look see.

I must blame for myself for subjecting myself to the false-facts of this video. I knew going into it that you'd either knowingly or unknowingly be repeating false and/or grossly misleading data.
I noticed you provided no substance to your claim. Would you like to submit a refutation or were you just complaining because you disagree. Now, if I said something less than factual, by all means, reveal it and refute it. Or, just accept it and move on.
Yeah it's important to know ans understand what Jesus says. Just like he says at Matthew 4:10. Do you believe he's referring to himself there?? No, he isn't, he's referring to his father. And John 13:16, Jesus is actually referring to himself there, and John 5:37 he says, "I DO NOT ACCEPT GLORY FROM MEN." Huh!! I wonder why he'd say that?? Oh, I know because it's his father that gets all the glory. Yehovah. Praise Yehovah.
@@tariqspaulding8034 Are you that much without understanding??? Where else does Jesus's quotes come from?? They are exactly Jesus's teachings that he got from his father. And it would do you good to understand them
@tariqspaulding8034 And you know what. I'm about tired of people like you that has no understanding of the Bible and have little to no faith at all in who God is and who and what Jesus was. You people think you know something but instead you rely in your own understanding and not what Jesus teaches. Go kick rocks and move on because I don't have time to waste on fools that don't believe what the Bible says. Move along
By Faith. A simple and easy truth. By faith.

Thanks for this video. I shared it. 5800 manuscripts are a testimony that God has preserved His Word and not just through one English translation.
So, if I write something and make 6000 copies that makes it extra true?
False equivalence. The Bible isn't authored by one man that made 6000 copies.
