I can't really remember what Kackie said about the formula back then, but I've noticed she's been using it in the last few videos. I hope she will give some updated thoughts! ❤❤❤

Many Tower 28 lines are named after LA places. Bronzers after art museums, skin tint after roads. I actually live in the neighborhood of my concealer shade! lmao. TY for the RMS comparisons. You have to get Mai Tai, it's so beautiful.
@@kimberlymiller7872as another fellow Angeleno, this is the question I want answered. I mean, are we referring to the home of the patriarchy or the place where no one wants to work in because the downtown is impossible to get through? The only time I ever use the initials for places is when I’m texting about them with friends and some coworkers. I do use BH, SaMo, CC (which I use for both Culver and Century, but distinguish with context clues), and some of the others but I still cringe when people refer to Malibu as “the BU”.

Hi! The Tower concealer is gorgeous on you (and in principle!) How would you compare it to the Givenchy? RMS blushes named Sangria and (as you know) the coral are warm. I love them for summer. I’d LOVE your take on the new rms spf & serum too.
No expert but have played with LOTS of cosmetic formulas and guessing the brightened pearlescence could come from the way the titanium dioxide, pigments (iron oxides) and emollients are working together in the formula. I've noticed this effect in "tone up" sunscreens before with this combo of Titanium dioxide, emollients and iron oxides but no mica or mica mimicking synthetics 🤷🏽♂
Stunning!!! I’m obsessed with the Tower 28 concealer! I often just use it as my foundation too 🙈 For the neck: I microneedle at home with a good roller, every few weeks and it does wonders for the neck and face 🙌🏼😍

But there's nothing in it that screams mica or pearl(synthetic or otherwise). The ingredients look really promising though! 👀
I remember watching The Room for the first time in animation school, and it’s a bizarre cringe train wreck. I believe the cost came (partially) from the fact that he bought his own cameras equipment (everyone rents it, even the big studio budget stuff) and he filmed everything in two different formats. Which still seems crazy to me.
"They're owned by the same company" doesn't seem like a good argument in favor of two products being dupes, because, indeed, why would one company release the same formula through two of their brands, at very different prices? Especially when customers are in the habit of dupe hunting? It's like shooting yourself in the foot, because people will opt to pay less for the same thing. My conspiracy theory is that, because most high profile brands are under Estee Lauder, they'll be doing their developing and testing, until they stumble upon a great formula, which they'll sell through one of their more expensive brands, leaving middling formulas for drug store releases. If anyone works or worked at Estee, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm very curious
L'Oréal does own a buttload of brands (among them: their own, Maybelline, NYX, Urban Decay, Armani, YSL, Lancôme, Givenchy, shu uemura), so formula sharing (even with tweaks) wouldn't be surprising. Estée Lauder owns mostly high end and luxury brands (these likely aren't all of them): their own, MAC, Clinique, Smashbox, Tom Ford, Too Faced, and they owned Becca before it shut down. I think they have a stake in The Ordinary, but I don't think they own them outright?
I used to work in the marketing team for a large beauty corporation. A lot of the time when a higher end brand they owned had holy grail or long term loved products, they would try to make a lot more affordably for their drugstore own brand. A lot of the drugstore products are super popular as dupes, so their tactic definitely works
