- B-side of Another Rainy Night Without You. Also one of the bonus tracks from the 20th Anniversary Edition of Empire.
Lyrics:
Last time in Paris was a little strange,
Had time to myself,
Headed out to see the city sights.
Met a little thing on the Champs-Elysees,
Stole my heart away,
You know I never could pronounce her name.
She didn't mind at all.
We were sitting there,
Seemed like hours
Pass the day away,
Till they said we had to pay,
Or do the dishes or something,
I don't know.
Living at the plaza Athenee,
Got to rest for the show.
Man at the front desk knew my face.
Said he had a room with a view for two.
But he forgot to say,
Renovation next door starts today.
Can't fing another room.
All day long they banged,
14 hours.
Show time on my mind,
And wringing somebody's throat,
Last time in Paris
Last time in Paris
Last time in Paris was strange
Last time in Paris
Last time in Paris
Last time in Paris was strange
Overslept, missed the bus to the show
Had to find my own ride.
Took the metro out to Avingnon.
Man at the backstage, didn't know my name.
Said hey, I'm with the band!
You and everyone today.
What is this guy new?
15 minutes fly,
Someone sees me.
Inside let me go
Hey Geoff, we need photos
Before the show!
Last time in Paris

Man this band was a gamechanger!!!
This is one of the best songs these guys ever put on vinyl.
WOW 😳 takes me back to 1990 hell 👍👍👍 I was 23 year's old that song was in Ford Fairlane Rock & roll detective 1990 awesome song hand's down 🤘🤘🤘🤘miss Chris DeGarmo 🎸🤘🤘🤘👍& Scott Rockenfield 🥁🥁🥁
What a Queensryche classic this is!
This is truly what I would expect from these guys.
killerrrrr song! takes me back to 1990!! good times!
This wasn't on my original Empire cassette, and it has a totally different feel. Love the story telling style, and I just can't stop listening to it! Lots of memories from this band and era!
If this isn't the GREATEST band in the world idk what is
Dont forget this was also on the Ford Fairlaine Soundtrack as well!
I only remember this song from radio airplay back in the summer of 1990? 91? I DO KNOW this song was my favorite of that summer at my vacation cottage in Dayville, Connecticut. Great Band
Don't get me wrong here. Huge Queensryche fan forever. They changed musical styles album to album. This version of Queensryche is my favorite musical wise. 👍
I remember this one from the Ford Fairlane soundtrack. Bought that cassette specifically for this song.
Classic 'Ryche of the era. Love this track.
I was looking for one of the greatest rock tunes of all time, so here I am. Q! Ryche!
This is why we love metal. METAL!
Saw Chris DeGarmo as the second guitarist on a Jerry Cantrell tour. Fantastic player. Queensryche needs him back.....
He's dealt with enough bullshit while in the band and glad that he's enjoying life as a pilot now.
Didn't realize it at the time but saw Metallica with Days of the New and Jerry Cantrell when I was a kid in Vegas at the Cashman field center! Queensryche and Bush were my favorite bands at the time! And I had no idea I was seeing Degarmo!!
This is my favorite Queensryche song ever! The lyric are Awesome
i can never find a way to listen to this song without my speakers blowing out or my windows exploding
theflaminskull 500 amen brother i still remember leaving work close to minight in 1994 in my 79 cobro with a gt 40 crate engine with 150 shot of nos. you can guess the rest
.....quit buying cheap windows and speakers, perhaps...
_......you're _*_welcome!!_*
@@mikegrove4277 Ha! Funny how kicking ass music makes ya foot turn to lead. Id have loved to be on that ride😁
Excellent vintage Queensryche!
My friend, it's about to get even BETTER...lyrics have been added, making it an extra delight! Now everyone karaoke to your heart's content. :)
Scott really really grooves on this. Harmonies kick also. Probably my favorite song from these guys.
It sucks that these guys couldnt keep things together and keep making great music.
+MrDownslider they are still together check ur data
+V.Elena Hiley He probably means this specific line-up.
V.Elena Hiley They are not together. They have an imposter singing for them now. Geoff Tate and Chris DeGarmo kept that band going and then Geoff starting had to start talking shit. That's why they're not together anymore.
anyone remember this song from "the adventures of ford fairlane" lol
The harmonies are what get me.
Such a great song
By far their best rock song. And actually structured like a rock song.
Awesome song!
great song
DAM I MISS THESE GUYS !
My favorite queenseyche song
Love, love, LOVE this song. I was fortunate enough to live about 40 miles east of Paris for a year back in the early 90s. This song always reminds me of some of the wild nights I had in Paris "back in the day".
❤ This is like The Beatles, Queen, and King’s X had a love child & then ate it 😅
thanks for posting this !!! this is actually one of my favorite songs by them
His voice is such a gift. He sounds fa-nominal in Hear 'N' Aid.
Mind crime and Rage for Order are fantastic. Amazing band.
Kick ass track, especially for B side!!
Some know how to stay together.
Others learn the hard way and try to make it right again.
The rest fail and even sometimes vow to never speak to each other again, no matter how good they were or how loved they were by loyal fans.
....Just a dash of Funk
It was Ford Fairlane TLFrank..But you are 100% correct that both tunes kick ass!! Thanks for posting!
Saw Geoff Tate last night(3/6/2020) and this was on the setlist.
*fling goes the crappy old live version*
Thanks man, great sound quality of a song ive been searching for a good copy of forever
Great song. Chris DeGarmo takes care of business on the slide. This shoulda been an A-side, not a throw away B-side
Absolutely. This song is just offbeat enough to be interesting, yet so damn catchy that there's no question in my mind that this should have been included on *Emprire* to begin with, should have been a single, and - at that time - would have gone Top 40, if not Top 10.
This got a lot of airplay when "Empire" was hot. I had forgotten it was not actually ON Empire...
It was on the Adventures of Ford Fairlane soundtrack.
Without a doubt...their best song EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Jaime D You have got to listen to more Ryche, although this is a good track it is definitely not their best song.
Yeah no, not their best...one of them
JaimeD. Cool down. They made many great songs. Check the albums...😉
Epic
Empire is awesome!
EPIC
this was also in the Last Action Hero soundtrack, btw
Jane's Affliction
That's right..and Real World is a masterpiece.
This was a very 'quirky' song for them. I feel like I'm going to hear Axl Rose say "Cool Ranch Dressing" any second...
It's easily their best song. Silent Lucidity is ok, but the rest of their stuff is junk
That is so funny and I of course got that ref right away!! 😆
Incredible tune, from a lost movie soundtrack. Thank goodness someone had the foresight to place it out here, lyrics and all! Thanks to TLFrank98......
Why else would anyone buy the soundtrack? Ohhh! I love Dice. And Tate and the boys were awesome last Saturday. 3rd row. Got to meet and talk with everyone privately in Geoffs dressing room. Damn he’s still got it. Paris was an encore.
One of their better songs.... that I NEVER heard!
I don’t know how old you are, but this hot a LOT of airplay when it was first released, a lot… it wasn’t on the Empire album, but was released as a single while Empire was hot
@@troynolen6448 I am 54 and was stationed at the USNB in Philadelphia when this album came out... all the stations there are R&B so I never heard it on the radio
Most importantly one of the songs from the "Adventure's of Ford Fairlane" soundtrack.
+V.Elena Hiley I couldn't agree more on how important this fact is!
Got 5 secs in the filem, but I've heard this tune 50 times. 'Cuz it's awesome!
Great song
last time I was in Catlanta was strange, never going back again
The original Ryche still crushes everything. The only other band that can compete with the OG Ryche in songwriting is a post-punk experimental rock band called This Heat. The bands wrote the most mind-expanding thought-provoking musical lyrics.
This probably took a day to produce. Damn good track. On Ford Fairlane soundtrack, yes Dice Clays bomb.
Actually... I believe it did take a day to produce. One day my buddy and I went to go score some... er... erb. He drove to some house in Lakewood, WA. We go in and I discover it's actually a studio. So... we go "into the back"... get our stuff... and as we were leaving we passed the area where all these guys were sitting listening to a song obviously they had just recorded. We stood for a few moments... said hello... listened for a minute... and left.
A few weeks later I heard the tune on KISW FM 100. It was Queensryche. True story.
Jim Shelley Amazing story. And I believe it.
Me Likey!!!
I went through all their albums looking for this song and could never find it
You can find it on this excellent box set. www.amazon.com/Revolution-Calling-Queensryche/dp/B00009MGF7
Rocker's Lullaby for the Notre Dame
Last time in Paris was definitely Strange.....
This is actually a true story
You'd be right... Last Time in Paris was on The adventures of Ford Fairlane soundtrack...
🎶😎🎶
I would've thought Real World was...another tune I gotta upload to my channel. Last Time In Paris was in a movie but I think it was Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Both tunes kick ass. \m/
First time in Paris
♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Inside let me go."
originally appearing on the soundtrack album to the movie The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, starring Andrew Dice Clay. Another group decides to borrow some soundbites of Dice speaking in the movie and incorporate it into a song which goes to #1. How about that? I get this song on a "cassingle" with REAL WORLD which appeared on the soundtrack to the LAST ACTION HERO starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Also from the soundtrack of "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane". Check it out.
XoxoTomy friendtopRaminNoodles
This many views on just this video that I uploaded mere months ago???!! YIKES!! Who knew it was THIS popular....and such an underrated song if u ask me!! :-)
This was originally on the Pretty in Pink soundtrack
Anyone find acurate guitar tab for this song. Oddly enough. Not much out there for this one.
for some reason I'm stuck on PARIS
Last time in Paris Hilton?
..Was strange.
I love this song, but there's no karaoke version of it.
Killer
3:01 *what?*
I have the soundtrack and its not on there.
Does anybody know why this song wasn't on the Empire cd and cassette?
+Project Spacebook also on Ford Fair lane
Yes, the thin line was originally recorded for the Ford fairlane soundtrack but the producers didn't like it. They went through the empire demos and selected this song, swapping the places of the two songs on their respective albums
Yup! The great metal day's still have kicken azzzz metal from Geoff coming out to bad most lost there pallet for the real voice not the clone.
Hell to the freakin' YEAH!! Tate was, is..WILL be Queensryche! \m/
31 people could not make it back to Paris
This song wasn't on Empire
It was on a special boxed set 30th anniversary edition that I got from a local record shop.
this is a grate track for sure but so many other ones as well for anybody wanting to here more from geoff tate look up his new band operation mindcrime is geoff tates new band thay have one album out its called the key it rockes just like his old work
Great song....It got buried on that soundtrack of that ridiculous Ford Fairlane movie...
No, it wasn't. That was "Real World".
geoff tate is god
Should have been on Empire. Better than any song on the album.
Sorry to downvote your comment but empire is classic as is last time in Paris
I'm sorry that was supposed to be pretty woman not Pretty in Pink
For me this just plods along.....doesn't fit well or gels with the songs on Empire
