I've never seen a vertical container used in a container home before. How else could containers be used? Do you think they could be a solution to the housing crisis?
The only ones that do not agree with these being a solution to the housing crisis is the damn government and this crap of them keeping us held back has really got to stop!! They are destroying this country instead of helping us to improve it!!
@@1982MCI EXACTLY. Its illegal to build houses for homeless people and people can't even create the home they want a lot of the time becuse of stupid HOA and government rules.🙄 it's such bullshit.
@@1982MCI do your own research ruclips.net/video/i7yEDz6bCfU/видео.html
Here in Denmark, especially in Copenhagen, we are in desperate need of cheap housing for students. In Copenhagen they have made shipping containers into small apartments for students. It works very well.
@@1982MCI there’s a great - yet infuriating - book by Phillip K Howard called The Death of Common Sense: How Law Is Suffocating America that delves into how many laws are designed to stifle progress.
Some people's creativity amazes me. What a cool building.
Creativity and lots of cash.

Were naturally creative...
Lol this what happens when u don’t know what no is
I love the fact that this guy donates a container home for those in need....and yes I definitely think this would be the solution to the housing crisis x
Ms Barbara I agree however I'm worried and aware that too much exposure will make the price increase. Itll basically turn it from affordable to unaffordable. Which is where we are now.
@@kenyettaready Yes I see your point, Kenyetta and that would be very sad.
@@kenyettaready That depends on the builders and where they can be located. Houses are really expensive for several basic reasons, and you won't like the answers. The American public has bought into the idea that 'bigger is better', 'more is more', 'I deserve more', 'I need more', 'My more needs to be more, more then their more', 'I have to have bigger, better, more...NOW...don't you know who I AM!!!' The human ego has become a self serving tyrant that believes IT should have what ever IT wants.
We have those same said ego's in places of government as well as home builders.
As long as there is an ego to be played another ego will.
And this is true of every sector of our country and government. The American people try to blame the government people - that they put in office either by voting, or more correctly, not voting.
Those same gov't people pull off some shady, selfserving stuff.
But the American Citizenry is still wholly responsible for everything happening. Crying impotence does not mean it's true.
If EVERYONE voted, by ballot & by dollar, made calls everyday to 'public servants', showed up to rallies....and paid attention to what's really going on, we'd have a different country. But most folks would rather complain from their arm chairs in their McMansions.
It sure would make it easier to load them up and ship them to another country.
No it won't.
That metal will rust out over time.
Containers lasts for 25-30 years.
HUGE RESPECT for the work he's done and is still doing. A worthy endeavor and cause. WELL DONE.
Thank you for continuing to bring us such excellent content. LOVE to all.
This home is incredible. This is one of my favorite videos on your channel , I love the message as this pertains to homeless population.

This is the way things need to be built... to last... Impressive work!!
I appreciated how he described what made the home stable and strong. Really that’s part of what sold me on it. I love the originality, the aesthetics, and design, and all the windows and flow. This is one cool place!
But what reassured and sold me was his descriptions of what made the home strong, resilient, and durable! I love this place! Great job.
2--30 years. This will not last.
That TPO roof is its first achilles heel.
I love the house, Dash's philosophy and spirit in addition to the elements of social change...definitely PhD dissertation worthy as well!!!
I hope he's providing a stepladder, too, so people who aren't 6' tall can reach those kitchen shelves.
i love your container home.
thank you and god bless you.
from the Philippines.
I admire how he wants to help other people. He didn't just build this beautiful home for himself.
Veronica: He built the home to live in, and to rent it out to make 💰
It should be criminal for being that talented, that compassionate and looks like a model...
Beautiful home, can't believe there
shipping containers... Looks so good, the colours are really vibrant. I could see myself staying there??? And this great man is giving back, to the homeless..
God bless you...❤
Just amazing to make a house out of a container but this is next level. It's great that he is donating a container home, its the way to go for homeless, bad weather areas. The structure and the bolting down and the water seal it just makes sense.
That truly an amazing house he built. I really love the exterior and interior. Decor is lovely. Great Job done.
It looks absolutely brilliant, well done.
You have a great looking property.
Watching from 🇬🇧
Love how you used the bug kill wood. The only good thing about those blasted bugs is the trails and patterns in the wood! Very effective!
Beautiful and cozy home. Talented man, Labor of love.😊
Cool.Cool.VERY COOL. Actually ... THE COOLEST ONE! And what the owner does for living!!! Awesome. Thank you for sharing.
I've seen alot of Container Home BNB's, but the key to this was the I Beam Engineering! Thats the best way to build this high!
I admire his commitment to finding housing solutions for the homeless. 👏👍
Great work!
The picture alone let me know this tour was going to be amazing. 😍
I am so in love with the design on this house! It must’ve been really nice that this guy had friends and family to help him make it all come together (and being an engineer of course). That work bench turned bar was absolutely genius 🧠💡👏
He’s definitely creative and I really like him home. I’m very impressed, and at awww..
How incredible!! And the selfless homeless Blessings, priceless 🙏🏽👍🏽
Thank you for addressing solutions the homeless problem in the US.
This guy is a genius.
His vision definitely paid off.
It's gorgeous.!!!
Funny because I had the same idea for a kitchen island, by using a tool cabinet.
Love it!
Also doing charity work is just amazing.
I wish him well.
I’ve seen someone use a tool cabinet for a baby changing table. It was GENIUS!

That's great.
Why not, they're sturdy, the many drawers glide out.
Can't beat it for the price.
I have one as a kitchen island for my container home.

That's great. Do you love it?
What a beautiful shipping container home, thanks for sharing 🔔🔔
Very cool living space and I love that he made it and AirB&B. I I’m very glad that he is involved with building homes for the homeless. I know that containers do make great homes being in the military deployed you learn to make where every you are it’s home, there were plenty of soldiers living in these containers while o deployments. Thanks for sharing and I do love the way he did this and how beautiful it is.
Very impressive!
This is such a novel and ingenious way of developing sustainable solutions to homelessness! Amazing! Reuse, restore, and recycle as much as possible for such a good cause. Thank you Scott! Donated and shared to Facebook. I hope this travels to many people who feel it in their hearts to help make a dent into homelessness. You never know, it could be any of us at any time! Give back!! ❤️
I would live the hell out of that house
This is incredible, I would love to live in one since we have hurricanes here in Alabama
The idea is awesome and it has an abundant amount of possibilities. 2 Thumbs up. God Bless You for helping others in time of need. Thank You

Impressive!!!! Very talented man!!!!
The creativity and low cost that went into the birth of this home just blows my mind. Great job! Its lovely!
What an incredible job... I love the design decisions. This is one of the few videos that actually shows the use of the flooring - and does an amazing job with it, too
What an interview with an amazing trailblazer. This is such a brilliant build an such a giving builder. TFS
I’m loving your channel.
This guy is brilliant and his idea of turning shipment containers to affordable housing for homeless is a game changer. Not only are you address an environmental issue of shipment container graveyards but a social issue of dealing with homelessness. But on the bigger picture you can also address the housing crisis for lower income people. People my age cannot afford homes, my mother who is retired cannot afford a home but what this guy is creating and trying to pitch would make that happen. If people want to own larger traditional style housing the market can always be there but for people with lower income or limited income options this can be a major solutions.
Absolutely amazing build. Looks great 😊 This guy really thought things through.
I love this so much! And the fact that he wants to help homelessness is so warming. Is great to have family members who are handy!
First of all, Jenna you look so beautiful in this intro!!! I also love this home . . . it's beautiful!
I just love Dash's solution for the housing crisis!

Some folks are just so talented. Loved the reuse of materials and the overall general creativity of it all.
Trust me Team THGJ, this is the one that I love the most.. Too much of calculations and engineering involved.. But, made perfectly done.. Awesome.. Thank you for the tour.. Felt bad that you had to keep it short.. I understand the rules.. But, surely loved it... Loads of love from India..

When building with shipping containers, you need to be damn sure that the container was never used for hazardous chemical transportation.
Wonderful job young man!!👍 Merry 🎄 Christmas in your very special nest!!

This is amazingly Astounding Dash!!!
Absolutely beautiful air b&b plus home thank you for sharing
Love the combination of wood and steel, the wood really softens the layout. And the hole idea of using a container for temporary housing for people in need is brilliant.
Such a wonderful house and investment. Your education and skills have served you well. Just beautiful with all the windows.
Outstanding build....well done
Beautifully designed and decorated! Great cause too for building shipping containers for the homeless and disaster relief. Jenny
There’s so many beautiful aspects to this home, but the orange exterior is by far my favorite. 👍🏼
You seriously did an amazing job this is absolutely gorgeous.
its awesome...congratulations Dash
Thanks for sharing this!
Absolutely fabulous design, Scott. Love that you're assisting with the homeless issues- so critical these days when sadly, too many people seem so self centered. We need more humans like Scott, willing to help others.
Love the stacked containers & the connecting vertical housing the staircase. I've only seen one or two similar; believe one was in Europe & the other in Panama.
Leaving the industrial look unfinished is fantastic.
I prefer seeing everything in its raw form-conduit for wiring, use of beetle kill pine & the exposed steel beams. Reusing materials is another plus!
My dad's uncles & later at least 6 of his brothers were iron ore miners in NY near the Canadian border until the mines closed in 1967. The phosphorus free iron ore mined from Chateaugay Ore & Iron Mining, later known as Republic Steel Iron, was 79% pure & used in building. The Brooklyn Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge were among many projects that used the iron from this mine. There were others especially during WWII.
I tend to think that's my connection with industrial design appreciation.
I loved seeing your notes left along the staircase- a personal touch.
The open space of the Airbnb rental makes it seem larger. The combination of industrial & contemporary design
& furnishings; toolbox for kitchenware storage- fantastic. Using vast expanses of glass brings the outdoors inside making those stunning views, essentially artwork.
I plan on selling both my current home & a rental property at the NJ shore moving to the PNW next year.
Still debating between building a tiny home or container home. Looking to have maximum energy efficiency & simplicity of design in my forever home. Container homes have a real advantage over tiny homes with regards to the dangers of wildfires although nothing is 100%. Using steel beams/concrete is a great idea amidst the earthquake zone.
Scott- you should be incredibly proud of this artistic, creative, unique build.
Amazing. The vertical use is brilliant! What a sturdy, beautiful home!!!
Amazingly beautiful and what a vision! Bravo!!!
Beautiful and very creative ~! Thank you for sharing
