I love my A500s but I would still like to hear the A700s in my listening room....maybe one day.

    Thanks for the video!
It would be nice to see more reviews on your speakers on YT, one from John Darko was great but not many more are out there, which is shame.
I'd Iike to know more what people think about them, how they measure, etc

The speaker seem interesting I just don’t like the integrated equipment inside they can fail where you would have to send your whole speaker out for servicing. I used to have an old one years ago from Sony VSAV a series I had a seven disc cd changer built-in, the CD changer lasted about three years after that I had to buy a CD player and unfortunately could never get the CD changer inside fixed, which was a big chunk in the system. What I learned in this is that separate components are a better option at least in my opinion because it say your receiver earlier an amp fails you have the opportunity of replacing it, or plugging in another piece of backup gear. You may have without sending your speakers, and potentially know, obviously multiple parts of a system can fail at once still having it separate is a much better option in regards to repair if you had a way to remove easily your amp system and send that out as an example that would be something you could send a replacement, and if it was an easy plug-in, very light labor then it may be less of a problem, but from what I’ve seen on multiple videos, it does not look like an easy process at all if there is something I would say, is an extraordinary weakness would be the plastic box. Lack of choice of what you can use one HDMI port is really not enough also another issue is your remote control. I appreciate the metal construction but the screws involved in getting access to the battery compartment is a bit excessive. You should have a manufactured part of that controller where you do not need to have batteries yet you can hold the door on the controller without fear of losing it, example see you’re watching a movie. The lights are off all the sun you controller dies. You may have batteries nearby but because you need a screwdriver you need to be able to turn off the turn the lights on get out of the time of your enjoyment find a screwdriver unscrew two screws and put batteries in then seal it up. Make sure it works and then continue on with what you were enjoying. It’s a big difference in comparing just opening a battery compartment that does not have screws replacing the batteries after they’ve been removed. Seal the compartment right away those screws. Continue what you enjoy. . Other than that your speakers seem really fascinating I can appreciate the idea of master tunings I just find it ironic that people would be more open to that some thing that tweaks the sound field, then say an open receiver type of set up that has program sound modes. Both strategies do change the sound signature. It’s interesting how one is more excepted than the other. They’re both the same to me what is an internal solution what is an external solution?

Hey Mads / @Buchardt Audio - at the same SPL, do the a700 sound 'bigger' than the a500? A youtube reviewer Steve Guttenberg said "size matters".
In response to my question on this Steve, he said "big speakers create a sound that feels closer to life-size than smaller speakers. Not just the sound stage but also in small and large scale dynamics. Power delivery. An ease in presentation that small speakers, even ones supported with subwoofers never get close to."
Link to my full question in comments and Steve's video for context is here ruclips.net/video/qSe6rysGT-E/видео.html
    What are your thoughts?
Perhaps this only applies to passives?

I have seen a reviewer say that the A500's sound like small floorstanders.
Volume really does matter, but with big floorstanders in a small/medium sized living room you quickly get problems like the breathing room that the speakers must have, standing waves etc.
The A700 is just too expensive for me but I am willing to give the A500 a try, even though I do fear they might sound a bit small. (My room is 5 by 5 meter and I often sit by the opposite wall.)
The Polk Audio R700 and the Wharfedale Elysian 2 (with subs) would be alternatives for me, but the Polks just look ugly in my house and the Elysians with stands basically cost the same as the A500 and then still I need to add subs; hopefully with the A500 I don't need subs. Also, even though people love those ELysians, it is built with very cheap components while Buchardts are made with top-class components.

About room size, is hard to find information how they are classified as large, medium or small. I have a 6m x 4m room, would be the A500 enough for listening a medium/high volume? Thanks :)

My room is 14' x 17'. I have the A500s. Plenty of power. If you want more bass or power, you can add their sub probably out first quarter 2022

@Buchardt Audio what about the A500 Signatures vs the A700?

    • @gatobakuniano
      @gatobakuniano 2 года назад

1:10 is not about sound signature, it's about volume, power, headroom... They are designed to sound almost identical, but one is for bigger rooms and play louder without any compromise. At moderate, normal volumes, for the majority of customers, they say that the A500 is more than enough

will there be an a700 passive version in the coming future?

Under another video someone (suggesting he was from Buchardt?) said there already was a passive A700 but I don't see it on the website.
