- Twenty-eight people lost their lives on Nov. 15, 1987. Continental Airlines Flight 1713 was taking off from Stapleton Airport for Boise, Idaho.

I was on another flight flying in just after the crash. Our plane was told to circle in a holding position for about 45 minutes. Next we were re-routed to Colorado Springs where we waited on the runway for over 6 hours. When we finally flew into Stapelton, it was dark outside. We saw the Continental plane lit up by all the emergency lighting as we landed. Man that was a sobering sight to see.
It’s a blessing, and no doubt by a lesson learned, that Denver International was one of the very first airports with a remote “drive-thru” type of de-ice facility close to the ends of the runways.
Back in ‘87 all de-icing was done at the gate or on the nearby ramp before the taxi even began.
Not sure what you’re talking about? Deicing is still done by trucks, close to the runways, but , there’s no car wash style de-ice. De-ice is done on Whiskey Alpha de- ice pad, or whiskey bravo pad. I believe WN does Charlie Whiskey. The concourse coincides with the direction, an proximity to the concourse the aircraft leaves from.
I was on a plane at DIA during a spring storm, and they de-iced the plane on the tarmac. It scared the crap out of me. I watch too many "Air Disasters" shows.
@@zekeonstormpeak4186 It’s been 20 years since I’ve been there. My fault for a bad memory and not knowing the taxi diagram by heart. I do remember it not being done on the ramp and waiting in a short line.
Oh wow! I remember this like it was yesterday. This Joe Petrafesso came into my work @ the Landing Strip and was telling me what a big hero he was and how he was a hair model for some salon on East Colfax.. he was even in the Westword. He was very good-looking back then. He tipped me very well and swept me off my feet then one day out of nowhere he told me not to ever contact him again.. his wife was coming.. that's when he finally decided to tell me that he was married.😂
I remember this newscast very well despite being 11 at the time. It was after a football game and I was glued to the television asking all kinds of questions.

So it's my thing with the fuel think it was the deicer that like froze to the do the wing or something
So that's why they said we had to cut that thing down because I would only be okay calling myself at staying if I was in town because of noun is a person place or thing and I'm a person okay because if because since I won't lie or whatever they were said yeah we're going to call you is saying and I said I'm not a thing I'm a person thank you very much because I didn't want to do what they were trying to tell me to do okay so if they said this is an emergency we need you to do this to save people then I would be okay with whatever the situation is as long as I don't have to lie about it later
And what's really important because they were discussing things and they were told to do certain things and they did not cuz the pilot took over okay because the pilot took over and ignored everything he was told to do and I said someday I will I will survive this plane crash and someday you will be so sorry you ever said that p I said that to the air traffic controllers of this flight
The problem with the crash was,it was almost a carbon copy of the 1982 crash at DCA. An inexperienced crew, attempting a take off, in conditions where the crew, and their ability were above their abilities. They’re bad training, and Continentals pairing of inexperience, pilots caused a lapse in knowledge, and on the job experience flying in these conditions. Air Florida, 5 years earlier, should have prevented this scenario. There’s no room for error when flying in these conditions.
And I don't care what anyone says about this keeping secrets is wrong from anybody
So there's somebody else for the firemen were probably asking me in what instance would it be okay for a it's okay for anyone to lie to save someone else's life as long as you don't lie about it later
They need to invent de icing that will last longer

1988 plane cr hiash Durango crash explains pilot copilot of his crash. And it's because they didn't know about the petrified in fear and that's a very important thing but some did but because this person's name okay they didn't want to be disrespectful to him or you know did anyone else and instead of the fireman and that's why I said I would never be able to be a stewardess because in this plane crash I was crying and laughing and crying and laughing because I was injured and terrified out of my mind and I was just a kid I was 17 years old but I became like a kid because they were discussing hey she's just a kid because everybody thought that my cousin and I were like had a thing and and the pilot said oh my gosh how could you even think such a thing about me she's just a kid

Okay so maybe we were in the air and everybody was still standing up okay I don't think we were in the air I think it exploded the plane exploded because the Dyson guy was there and it or he just the ice the whole thing and there was something messed up with that I think okay and it exploded I heard the poofs that's what makes sense and we were up there and they were trying to tell me they didn't they should have been like I should have stopped moving everything is to let me come on guys when am I going to do that if there's a f****** fire that's the only time alright

E and my mother was living down there without the proper documentation she didn't qualify to live there anymore and I could have helped her qualify legally okay and she got caught and was facing 15 years in a Mexican prison and so she kidnapped my child and Don Schofield is my cousin and he had the watermelon cantaloupe farm and he would bring emigrants up to work on the farm legally they can't do this to us

Nope that's where the mistake is people I hope somebody reads this Monday okay they did that was what happened okay because I was just part of the crew that didn't have clearance to be on there cuz I fly4free okay my uncle or my cousin Leon schofield's pilot I don't know if he was fine that day or not but I was bored and I came up from Arizona and boarding school and so my car was parked at the airport and I got on the plane to Boise and the only reason I would do that as if by a colionne was a pilot okay and so they're probably pilot there's everybody error okay because we had been out on the tarmac it seems like forever it's was longer than however long they said okay because the stewardesses gave everybody around and drinks and everybody was standing up because we've been sitting in the plane for so freaking long that we were worried that they were going to get that thrombosis okay so everybody was standing upso because the deicer guy did not say that where he was or he said we was but it hadn't gotten to the pilot yet and he had been cleared to take off and they fired up the deicer and the stewardess and nobody heard the pilots say we've been cleared to take off everybody sit down. And so he thought cuz the pilot thing was closed and he thought that everything is good to go fired cuz we would shut off everything was shut off and it was so loud he didn't hear cuz the pilot's got his ear things on and I think I was like trying to tell him and he was looking at me and he was trying to tell me don't talk don't talk cuz he's listening I was trying to say no no listen to me listen to flip out because the DIA

The controller said you have been sitting in tarmack couple hours or something ahd you need to refuel ir something need fuel pilot said no we do not need fuel the control tower said yes you do. The pilot said no we do not need fuel. ..... Okay you are cleared for take off. Here we go. I ran up from back to xick out the fuel truck is connected to fire fire fire I was fire only allowed to get up during take off if actually see flames yell while running fire fire fire. Was there a door to cockpit? If so I opened the door that had the copiolet jerk the nose up Leon the piolet my cousin we do not kiss each other on lips maybe on the cheek when joking around. The pilot chair spun around and he went to unconnect his safety harnesses ahd because I opened the door he died or he was frozen in time with his arms outstretched. Andi flew backward and up out through air oh no in so so sorry ohjhhhhh. This is what I remember from today walking up oh no this is not real.
