big time airbus fan here to say, wow! very impressive. 737 max will definitely out preform the a320neo on at least 90% of all things if not more. very awesome
Agreed. flown on the 787 in the last month, no issues in fact didn't cross my mind, main thought was how nice the cabin was and the size of the windows.
Please also radically change the overhead panel and other cockpit hardware items. Maybe the partnership with Embraer will open Boeings eyes on how to create a nice pilot environment.
Guys here's the thing: Both Airbus and Boeing are great manufacturers. I don't any similarities between Boeing and Airbus products. They're both different and do different things. Airbus aims at sustainable development and eco-efficiency in the future, and Boeing aims at efficiency and profit. The 787 is a newer version of the 767, and the A350 is a new version of the A330. I know that this video is about the 737's new winglets which look nice, they both are great planes. So no more hate!!
Brilliant reply.. Even with the recent A350's first flight and the attention it's been receiving because of their faultless launch, Boeing are set to receive orders of up to 10 of the stretched version of the 787 from British Airways, the 787-10. Qatar Airways is also expected to order more 787's at this weeks Paris Airshow. So as I see it the only one in the shadow is Airbus.. The A380 is the only Variant which I love, other than that no Aviation machine can come close to the 777!
Thats like saying a another plane maker is copying because they have planes with 2 engines and so does Boeing it does not matter they both have great engineers.
WE are looking forward to fly 737-800 or newer sometime in the future. Boeing is number one why? They hire deaf/visual impaired people to work there. A couple of my friends works there who is visual impaired and the other is deaf. I would love to work there but I can't touch washington state due to my senstivity of my lungs. I got sick twice when I was in spokane. If I hear that Boeing would set up a plant in another state then I would love to apply! I myself am hearing impaired!
The A340 is technically a good aircraft it just uses too much fuel with it's four engines - where twin-engined aircraft can deliver almost the same perfomance. That's why production of it has also stopped
While the aerodynamics displayed here, I would like to see how Boeing is going to step-up with the 25% better efficiency that Airbus claims with the A350.
he probably means Angle of Attack but while the idea is good, it doesn't quite solve a big enough problem to merit the effort. 90% of a 737's time in flight is in a nominal cruise and the winglet is tailored to be optimal for that period. Therefore, the winglet is effectively operating at maximum efficiency 90% of the time.
Coming from a pilot standpoint, I don't see how a winglet reduces carbon output and saves fuel. I mean it'll affect wingtip vortices or wake turbulence, but I'm pretty sure saving fuel requires more drastic changes to the airframe while carbon emissions will revolve more around the engine itself.
To somebody that doesn't sound like an person who is an aviation enthusiast, I'm just saying that the A350 is over 700 orders already. So hold your nuts and don't go too far with what you're saying ;) Plus United Airlines confirmed a few orders for the A350-1000 XWB
I've been directly involved in many winglet flight test ventures. None did what they advertised. They all require wing modifications to get any benefit, but zero benefit from the winglet itself.

What's with your hate towards Airbus? They didn't do nothing wrong. Boeing and Airbus are both great companies, so relax before somebody proves you wrong.
I love how when airbus steals boeing winglets it's perfectly fine but when boeing feels compelled to do the same you guys completely lose it...hilarious.
if i were boeing of airbus. id be very careful, they may get sued by apple for using some of their avionic touch screens, apple probably think they thought of it first.
Tell me more about how you've made the cabins quieter, walk ways wider, and leg room more spacious and accommodating. Not how you now save more fuel while still packing people like sardines at +$600 a ticket.
Actually airbus copied the 737-800 winglets and just renaming it, boeing is making a new design and remember those new winglets properly cause few years from now you'll see them on airbuses... know yours facts right...
This trend of flashing the pictures by so fast makes these videos unwatchable for me. So much for innovation and new ideas; just follow Hollywood's cheap gimmicks.
Lol. Absolutely love your idea!!! Yea, this winglet is just a gimmick, sure it helps a bit. But they're far behind the curve. There won't be planes to fly when we run out of carbon. They are dumbasses. Lol.

It's a contributing factor

The laws of aerodynamics are the same everywhere, so obviously what works for Airbus will probably also work for Boeing. :)

This is great but for the amateur pilots and aerodynamicists among us, please can you explain how it works? Thanks!

Have you thought about AoA programmable winglets based on in flight profile?

GO BOEING!! I
Great job Boeing! As always indeed!
Boeing's the best!
While the aerodynamics displayed here, I would like to see how Boeing is going to step-up with the 25% better efficiency that Airbus claims with the A350.

We can say the samething about the A320NEO now that they add winglets to it just like the 737 next gen

That's why you're a pilot and not an engineer
Good point. LOL
I spy a PacMin model. So cool! You can purchase them on the Boeing store since PacMin doesn't sell to the public.
To somebody that doesn't sound like an person who is an aviation enthusiast, I'm just saying that the A350 is over 700 orders already. So hold your nuts and don't go too far with what you're saying ;) Plus United Airlines confirmed a few orders for the A350-1000 XWB
Great stuff
LOVE THAT MODEL! SEE THE BOEING 737 FLYING OVER MY HOUSE EVERY 2 MIN. GO BOEING!
Comments may be held for uploader approval ? So no comments about UFO's then?
I trust Boeing with my life
is it as good as the advanced technology batteries used in 787?
With A350 and all that Boeing is really in the shadow
I've been directly involved in many winglet flight test ventures.
None did what they advertised.
They all require wing modifications to get any benefit, but zero benefit from the winglet itself.
So when do you put winglets on the horizontal tail?
Saw Ansys there!
are all the new Boeing aircraft going to have chevrons like d 787 to reduce noise including d new 777
boeing has managed to convince me too, to buy it.
Good job people I like that.
To somebody that doesn't sound like an person who is an aviation enthusiast, I'm just saying that the A350 is over 700 orders already. So hold your nuts and don't go too far with what you're saying ;)
The 787 is an all new aircraft and it's normal to have teething problems.
This is geat but unfortunately we need 15% savings! Not 1,5%.
MD11 had the double winglet
yep
we need more raked wingtips
The question is, will it blend?
youknow the windows of a plane kind of look like rectangles with round edges, better not tell Apple since they have a patent on that.
What's with your hate towards Airbus? They didn't do nothing wrong. Boeing and Airbus are both great companies, so relax before somebody proves you wrong.
i like the soundtrack, where can i get it from??
any one know the soundtrack name?? thaaaaaaaaaanks
DREAMLINER, THE BEST !
Why do the back wheels not have a door over them but the front do...because they fold diffrent?
They look like Burt Rutan designed Winglets.
The A350 has over already 700 orders already, just letting you know...
Juar like Airbus's sharklet!
I love how when airbus steals boeing winglets it's perfectly fine but when boeing feels compelled to do the same you guys completely lose it...hilarious.
If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going...
Epic
this winglet is bigger and more better than airbus.... :D
0:11 I want that model
Microsoft should learn with Airbus and Boeing how to share! xD
Proud Playstation Player
Not debating .. just don't understand the comment. What is silly about the A340?
So now airplanes are saving the world by saving 1,5% fuel? That is logic!
Don't be disgusting towards Airbus, it's also a great company.
USA!
What's the 777X?
Boeing using Airbus A320 winglets, and Airbus now moving to Boeing 737 NG winglets... LOL
I asked myself why they did not put "winglets" on planes in 1977~ I missed my calling ;)
Other way around. Boeing got the idea first.
you'dbetter if you want TO FLY IN ONE
how? It hardly looks like airbus' sharket winglet. The sharklet wing copied Boeing's original winglets if I'm not mistaken, so how is this copying?
if i were boeing of airbus. id be very careful, they may get sued by apple for using some of their avionic touch screens, apple probably think they thought of it first.
Md-11 winglet
What about a winglet box...an infinite winglet.
looks like sharklets on steroids....
??where are the flying saucers!!
Looks a little bit like MD-11's winglet.
Bravo, Boeing money managers!!! This will often change due to the damage on the ground aerodrome cars :) You can make good money only on this :)))
If its not Boeing I am not Going!!!!
Tell me more about how you've made the cabins quieter, walk ways wider, and leg room more spacious and accommodating.
Not how you now save more fuel while still packing people like sardines at +$600 a ticket.
Ticket prices are up to the airline, not the plane manufacturer.
Never the less...
Airlines have gone down the same drain Cadillac did; quantity over quality.
No, not "nevertheless". You are attacking Boeing for something that's not their fault.
allyourcode And the last time you rode on a plane overseas?
Asking irrelevant questions is not helping your case, but I'm going to answer it anyway: November.
I expect airbus to copy it just like the shark... I mean winglets.
Prove it
first comment and Well done on the winglets
787 killed A330? Really? Since when? Right before it was grounded?
Yeah, reducing carbon will impact... but not as you think it will
??? just search the 777X and 787-10X, the low A350 orders will be cancelled because of the 777X. :)
Actually airbus copied the 737-800 winglets and just renaming it, boeing is making a new design and remember those new winglets properly cause few years from now you'll see them on airbuses... know yours facts right...
Airbus had this for years.
Ya proud mate? NOOOOOooo.
Hey, why not solor powered plane gasoilen
😷
Airbus B777 xD xD xD xD xD xD xD
looks like they copy the A320 winglet
Funny, but the issue has been solved months ago, the joke is overused and their battery fix is old news. Move on.
Haha look at global sales and tell me that Boeing is in a shadow.
This is nothing new, seen this on a project 15 years ago, boeing should be careful with "interlecteral" rights.
Just another version of the already existing Wingtip Fence on the A380.
Boering!!!
A380 winglets
Copying Airbus
This trend of flashing the pictures by so fast makes these videos unwatchable for me. So much for innovation and new ideas; just follow Hollywood's cheap gimmicks.
You mean Airbus technology
Airbus did the same to Boeing on the A350, stop complaining.
Lol. Absolutely love your idea!!! Yea, this winglet is just a gimmick, sure it helps a bit. But they're far behind the curve. There won't be planes to fly when we run out of carbon. They are dumbasses. Lol.
You guys just stole the airbus winglet
this guy is lying about cutting co2 emissions, poor marketing strategy from boeing shame on you!
