They are probably focusing on their citizens first.
Unfortunately Labour doesn’t have 12 months to bring about working plans. You will know this if you follow indigenous Brits channels and their conversations. If they don’t act and plug immigration, improve housing, increase salaries while keeping tax rate and inflation controlled then they will be forced to call an election even before they know it. And I do think I agree with the indigenous people this time. I will ask for the same if I were them.
They can only call an election after 5yrs, the most that will happen is the prime minister will be changed, but Labour Party will be there until after 5yrs.
What about the policy stopping graduate students from bringing their dependent relatives to UK, is there any hope that the new UK government will reverse the policy?
Immigration rules changes from time to time, they opened door because of Brexit and covid, they’ve had enough, they’ve shut the door. When they are in need, they open up again.
The problem is for you the uk yought are very confortable and won't want too much work. Like a Polish or other people from Middle-Europe can work 12 or more hours and 6-7 days and it doesn't matter which qualification they have. Just look at a factory: who works on weekend or who does overtime every day?
