    I just discovered this series and am enjoying it quite a bit. Your videography and narration are excellent. I live in the U.S. (Minnesota) and have traveled in Europe several times, but not yet in western or southern France. Seeing towns like Morlaix and Béziers - neither of which I’d heard of - are real revelations. So much rich history and beauty to explore and appreciate!

    Ah lovely. I think the EuroVelo 1 along that west coast will be on my bucket list.

    Excellent again. We cycled the Coast to Coast in 2017 equally fine weather. 🚲

    Great video, thank you for sharing your adventure. A couple of years ago I cycled down the Groene Weg from Achen and then along the 2 Canals route. I found the 'Midi' had all of the beauty but lacked a decent cycle path infrastructure whereas the 'Garonne' was often pretty damned ugly but the path was very well maintained. I smiled when you described 'the change' you encountered. I read in the French press today that their government has announced a major programme of cycling improvements, I hope they include the Canal du Midi route on their list.

      Thanks. Yes, the two canals are very different. It’s very clear that France has and is continuing to invest. Here in the UK… Mmm…

    Carcassone Castle is superb isn't it! And I see you used the same beachside path to get to Sete that I did (in reverse)

    Brilliant cycling vlog! Thanks so much for all the hard work that goes into preparing these. As an older cyclist with serious health issues, I’ve been able to complete inn-to-inn trips with luggage transfer across France on the Deux Mers and north to south across the Netherlands and down into Bruges. I’ve been searching for what next to put on my bucket list. Your videos are giving me plenty of inspiration. Love your main theme song which I’d love to put on a music playlist for my next cycling trip. Is it available for purchase anywhere?

      Hi Jerry. Thanks for the positive comments about the videos - they are very much appreciated. Sorry to hear about your health issues but they don't sound as though they are preventing you from getting out on the bike - far from it!! Long may that continue. As for the music, it was written and performed by Rob Ainsley. He's a fellow cyclist and he writes about cycle touring for magazines. If you'd like to listen to / download his music, you can do so by visiting the following page of his website - e2e.bike/e2e-bike/writings/ - and scrolling down a bit to the 'music' section. I'll pass on your comments so that he knows you are a fan!! Best wishes and happy cycling, Andrew

    I like your style of vlogging , I intend to tour Brittany in July , I want to vlog my experience having not done anything like this before I was curious to how much b roll you film in a day ?

    • @CyclingEuropeYouTube
      @CyclingEuropeYouTube  Год назад +1

      A lot! I think at the end of the two-month cycle I had recorded around 3,000 videos on the iPhone, the GoPro and the drone combined. If each of those is, on average, 12 seconds long that would make 10 hours of video. The four films combined are around 2 hours so most didn’t get used… But the editing starts before you press record and it’s better to have recorded something and not use it rather than not record something and then later, when editing, wish you had… Good luck with your Brittany trip! :-)

    I plan on doing a bike trip in France next year, what do you recommend as a GPS to follow the Eurovelo?

    What GPS did you use for this trip?

    • @CyclingEuropeYouTube
      @CyclingEuropeYouTube  4 месяца назад

      Hi. I didn't use a GPS to navigate the route: I used maps (physical and online) as well as following the signs on the ground. I did track my route using Cyclemeter, mainly for later reference when I was writing the book.

      Hi. Thanks for the question. The map holder is actually made for holding small tablet computers. It's made by Topeak: www.topeak.com/global/en/product/798-TABLET-DRYBAG As for the maps... I used an overview map of France - IGN map 924 and then a range of maps that I picked up for free in tourist offices. Hope this helps :-)
