Saw Muse live in Wembley some good years back, I remember we'd been standing in the blazing heat for HOURS! Finally got into the stadium, watched the lineup of Biffy Clyro and White Lies, then suddenly Uprising begins to play, people marching on the stage with flags, and as Muse made their entry, the heavens literally opened and it began pouring with rain. It was absolutely exhilarating!!
This track is about that encourages listeners to rise up against oppressive rulers, corporations, and influences in the world. The lyrics portray a call to action to take power back, to reclaim control, and to unite together to fight against oppression. The track speaks of the need to protect freedom and justice, to see truth even in difficult conditions, and to never give up in their fight against those that deny them their individual liberties. The message of the track is that everyone should come together to inspire and motivate each other to create a more equitable world.
If you look at it biggly from all their songs the people who claim to protect you are maybe even worse than the people they claim to protect you from. Especialy when you consider how islam treats lgbt compared to christians who just rant about hellfire stds and broken hearts. And the people who should know bring those people here while promoting lgbt. Leading to increased radical islam recruitment.
Oh and to be clear. I think finding someone who loves you is hard. Even if everyone is not encouraged to F around with everyone. That would make things harder.
I remember when the music video came out and it was the first music video for MUSE I ever saw. At that moment, I was instantly hooked. To this day, they are my favorite band.
I remember when I wanted to sing this for a middle school talent show and they wouldn't let me because it mentioned "drugs".... Then they let a different girl sing Tik Tok by Kesha.
I live in little old Adelaide and MUSE came and it was THE BEST DAMNED SHOW IVE EVER SEEN... Then I saw them in Melburne in a bigger venue... OMG... Now if I can see them in a really big venue like Wembley...😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
This was intro to Muse, and a pretty wierd one at that. Started with getting hooked on Dr. Who -> found a youtube clip with the Dr. Who cast on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks', heard the intro to this song in the program -> got hooked on Muse.
The NZ Trucker protesters are being subjected to the "Baby Shark" song blasted on repeat by their government. It would be awesome if they found a way to blast this song on repeat back!
The synths going into the chorus remind me of a song from the minecraft soundtrack (can't remember the name) but that's one of the reasons that this song is so Nostalgic for me. It reminds of when I would play minecraft with my friends. I also listened to this album on my Muse album marathon when I first discovered them while playing minecraft.
ooh boy this song hits differently in 2020
Especially during these specific days, with the protests and riots in the USA #blm

More like dried aged steak now, better
My favorite part is when the guitar talks! "So Come On!".
+Vicky Pratt Nothing beats Plug in Baby woooaaaaaahhhhhhhhHHHHHHH! :P
Call me, Blondie
2024 this song hits harder

Muse's songs never become OLD
For me, this song is the best of Muse

Make sure to get your booster and never question those in power!

We are living it right now!
A lot of Muse’s songs can be applied to our current situation
Swarm
This entire album is basically the soundtrack to 1984
I'm reading the book right now listening to it!
+Abeer Eghbaria Its a great book!
Realius Yeah its amazing!
1984 didn't exactly end with hugs for everyone. Just tears of love and joy for Big Brother.
Freedom is slavery
2018
and i still don't get why a few people call The Resistance a weak album.
It's one of the best and the exogenesis symphony is magnifecent
Matt Everdeen TWD I think The Resistance is an amazing album, T2L and Drones are worse than it in my opinion...
Agree.
T2L is the weakest one.
Drones is good but no as much as the first five.
I'd die to this song on the real
@@matteverdeentwd4966 drones is a good album. But if we talk about all tours, Drones was the best tour to see.
@@mictlanlopez19 Now it is real

The Anthem for 2020.
The feeling when you find a song that speaks to you. This is that song.
Quels beaux textes...
De vrais artistes talentueux et veritablement engagés comme nous ne trouvons que peu malheuresement!
this is the one that hooked me on muse , about 7 years ago hears on radio- 102.7 weqx, :) still 1 of top 5 fav
+Bill Kane Yeah sadly one of the few songs like madness, starlight that are 'safe' enough to be on the American radio haha
i first heard it on cable on musicchoice channel that I listened to every morning while getting ready
I remember when I wanted to sing this for a middle school talent show and they wouldn't let me because it mentioned "drugs".... Then they let a different girl sing Tik Tok by Kesha.
When does it mention drugs?
+Tocaraca "They'll try to push drugs to keep us all dumbed down."
CometGirl If that's the only place they say the word 'drugs' then your Middle School is absolutely shit.
It was years ago, but yes, it absolutely was.
CometGirl :D
the fact that this song is basically questioning wth is the truth about our future and whats going on in the real world is crazy.
Crazy not to.
An epic Start for a really epic Album! My second favourite Album from muse (after Black Holes and Revelations) never understood why so many hate it...
2020 March : The text becomes reality !
Powerful awakening song.
The anthem of the resistance.
I saw this track performed live as a musician it blew my mind as a person it crumbled my soul
I want them to team up with a professional choir someday and I want to hear the chorus with 100+ voices singing in really really good.
They kind of did work with a professional choir for T2L as seen in songs like Supremacy, Survival, Unsustainable and Isolated System.
HOLY SHIT that would be powerful...
As timely as ever
love this song so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2020 ANTHEM!!!!!
