Wild Bergamot is a wonderful pollinator plant. When planted in areas with high humidity, powdery mildew can be an issue. However, it can be controlled and shouldn't transfer to other plants in your garden

I just found your utubes, Thank you!!!! 😄
THANKS!
I went on a nature walk this afternoon with my daughter to pick wild black raspberries. While on our walks, we always check out the blooming plants. Today, we noticed wild bergamot. Such a fun looking native wild flower. Thank you for the information about this pollinator-friendly plant!
@kathypetroelje7378 You are welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Very interesting Cathy thank you 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
I wonder if a neem oil spray would help with the powdery mildew? I want to use my wild bergamot for tea, and I don't want any powdery mildew. This will be my first year growing it, so we shall see.
Yes it will. Thanks for commenting.
مسيرة مزفقة🎍🎍🎍🎍💔💔💔💔💔👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍣🍣🍣🍣🎍🎍🎍💔💔
Thank you.
I am in Texas, had it for 2 years from plugs and have not had a flowery yet 🤷🏻♀️ it’s in full sun and good drainage.
Don't give up. I have had that happen with Milkweed. Thanks for commenting.
Try a soil test. pH might be off.
😊 I forgot to ask, what do you use to spray for mildew, please??
3 Tbsp Baking Soda and 1 Tbsp Dawn dish soap in 1 gallon of water.
I have not see this in Florida I've been looking for awhile now, I'm planning on growing some from seeds
It is really easy to grow from seed. Thanks for commenting.
MAYBE FLORIDA IS TOO HUMID FOR IT, getting too bad powdery mildew?
Oddly, my potted bee balm bloomed last year and this year not at all, only leaves. Full sun, self-watering container... Overcrowded, not enough fertilizer? 🤔 I'm a lil' bit disappointed with it honestly.
But at least I finally got my lance-leaved coreopsis and my native field thistle after so many failed years!
Thanks for commenting. What variety of bee balm. My Jacob Cline (red) will occasionally not bloom. Never have a problem with Wild Bergamot though.
Im I'm Oklahoma, comes back every year. Bee's swarm it.
Thanks for commenting.
Excellent. What’s the white flower at 0:36?
That is Pearly Everlasting. I will be doing a video on this plant soon. Thanks for the comment!
@@CEGNatives Thanks. I’m winter sowing Bradbury’s Monarda (monarda bradburiana) this year. It’s supposed to be shorter (2 feet) and less floppy than other monardas. Have you tried it?
No, I have not tried it
thanks for the tips! i love beebalm :)
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment.
