Excellent and informative video... Great job
Good video. A few nits about Stratus. It overheats occasionally. Hard updates are a bit cumbersome. Otherwise it's a very good product and Sporty's does a great job - always buy from Sporty's b/c the support is terrific. This feels a bit pricey for my budget, however.
Will it work with Garmin Pilot? :D
Will it work with air navigation pro?
Question: I had heard the echo tops, icing, etc. were going to be available after June 10, 2018 on the 1090 band. From the video the guys seem to indicate that those features won't be available until later this year. Also, my big question: will I not be able to get these new pieces of information with a Stratus 2S? Especially echo tops.
Those new products have been delayed. They are supposed to go live in western states early next month; full rollout later this year. It is transmitted on 978. Those features will be available on Stratus 2S as well - it will require a ForeFlight software update.
Thanks for the info! I just bought a 2S during Sun & Fun week. The advertisement made it sound like the new features were only available in the Stratus 3 which would have been disappointing. Thanks so much for the reply; and the shirts are fine. Blue is my favorite color!

No it's not that's a supped up 172 the air speed is reading 190, about 37 over red line of 153.

According to the FAA www.faa.gov/nextgen/programs/adsb/pilot/ they are only offering "cloud tops" not echo tops. These are two completely different. Which one are you saying Stratus will have?

$699 is still too expensive IMHO - something under $299 would make technology ubiquitous and really improve access to safer operations.
yep its ridiculous "Foreflight Sentry" takes care of that problem with everything you need at a much more reasonable price.
