The main character always has a big red sword because big red swords are cool. I'm actually pretty glad swordfighter gets some arts that don't require specific positions, even though it's basically just an offensively oriented version of Shulk. Shulk could do basically nothing if he ever got aggro.
I feel like something that could be nice for the guides would be to mention requirements and locations for the ascension quests. A couple notes about the spoiler part: Lucky Seven in chain attacks is absolutely monstrous, I think its better than base Lucky Seven/Ouroboros. One funny thing I've discovered is that if you charge up Final Lucky Seven, swap characters, then let the AI use it, you can time activating a chain attack right as the enemy is launched before it's smashed, so you can hold it for the entire chain attack. Then, if you use Lucky Seven's smash art in the final chain attack round, you can hit much, much more insane numbers (my highest so far has been like 8 million just off of the smash hit).
Couldn’t you do all 3. So lucky seven until you have a few seconds. Origin Sword. Then chain attack once that is over and you are in front of the enemy and have launched them.
You can immediately pull the trigger on the Lucky Seven by maxing Flash Fencer and equipping the skill Capable Hands, which gives you full Talent Gauge at the start of every battle.

spoilers: lucky 7 gets different effects when noah is on a healer or tank class like healing the party with tachyion slash or the smash art giving you the invincibility buff from when you activate it
To be fair, the game has only been out for a week, so doing all of the individual classes gives him time to cover all of the earlier classes and save the ones that would be considered heavy spoilers for later on, then cover the party compositions after it's been several weeks from release and people are less worried about spoilers.

Ouroboros form from what I gather adds together the aggro values from both fused characters. Which is why when you fuse with Mio you'll probably out aggro the other tank.

Something I noticed regarding the final part of the video. So spoilers ahead. Thanks for the advice and all the guides ! Side note : i actually really enjoy using Eunie's class. I equipped her and Taion with Fiona's passive ability that lets you cast one more AoE field effect, and it's really busted to keep the A.I. alive. Both use their main class with Eunie having her field effect art equipped + quick recharge. Taion has evasion up and defense up from War Medic for survivability and it gets the job done. My tanks and healers are basically gathered in front of the monster with everyone being buffed all the time with attack up, evasion up, defense up, quick recharge or just a healing circle. It makes it easier for A.I. tanks to take aggro as healers tend to stay close to them and they're very unlikely to die if you set them up properly. The only downside is that there's a limited amount of field effects possible on the ground at any given time, but other than that, it's pretty busted imo
I loved Shadow Eye in the first game but I have never used it in this one and suspected it was not going to be worth it so glad to hear you think the same lol.
7:25 Get rid of Steelcleaver for Empowered Combo. 70 Attack is only 4% of Noah's total attack, a 75% cancel boost would be preferable, even if it does not affect Chain Attacks.
Over all I’ve found that attack up is actually not that valuable most of the time. It’s such a small increase in damage even at rank 10 that getting utility from other gems like reduced aggro or getting health would be preferable. Especially for characters you don’t intend to control.
Some spoilers below regarding the end of this video, after having too much fun blasting through the game spamming a certain arte. The end of the video didn't even explain how it makes the entire game flip on its head. Going around proccing Doom on everything that's not a unique monster? Thank you Noah for turning into Vergil from DMC5 after about a hundred hours of gameplay. Where I'm feeling absolutely MOTIVATED, given how Tachyon Slash is just like Judgment Cut in how it's usefulness is only as good as many times it can be spammed. That being said I love this guide. Absolutely points out how busted Noah is. :]
@@EnelXC True! My pov on it was simply out of a grinding perspective. The rank ten gems in particular. Ending fights in one hit potentially instead of several when looking for particular drops. ^^;
Btw I don’t know how many ppl know but about the spoiler part lucky seven has a chance to apply the doom effect insta killing everything except from unique enemies and doesn’t matter what lv the enemies are either
I think it’d be nice if you mentioned when things are spoilers for in spoiler warnings, but other than that this is a great guide! Thank you for making these and I can’t wait to see my favorite classes covered 👀
Excited to see how you think about heavy guard, feels like zephyr is quick enough that ir rarely gets ficus from enemies when there's just one foe, so wondering if there's a way to make it more effective, or if the curse of the shield hammer has claimed a new victim?
Heavy guard aura is a percent reduction to damage taken. So even in single target if you control the zephyr and stand next to the other tank it can make you almost invincible.
@@SH1NK1R01 Can confirm, this is definitely the way to go. Controlling Zephyr makes the combat loop so much faster, making it easier to hold aggro with how often you’re spamming arts. Plus unlike the AI, you can time your evasion arts to an enemy using their own arts to avoid something that might one-shot you. Overall I think out of all the default classes, Noah’s and Mio’s are the best for the player to control at any given point.
Something that wasn't mentioned in the video is that Swordfighter is the best smash finisher in the game, thanks largely to the fact that Air Slash has a high damage multiplier, an additional damage boost with canceling, and a lightning fast animation to make sure the launch duration doesn't get depleted very much. Swordfighter's smashes can reach several million damage outside of chain attacks, making it a staple of speed kill runs
So something that was really funny to me is that I stumbled onto the capable hands + lucky seven combo by accident. I had Noah using flash fencer and was grinding some elites. He ranked up to 20 and then afterwards I fought some more elites and they just instantly died and it took me a good bit before I figured out it was because of capable hands being at max and Lucky Seven giving the Doom effect which I did not even know it did lmao. I died laughing for a good while after figuring it out.
I'm really curious to see the rankings for all the classes. I've definitely got my picks for best classes from personal experience, but id love to see what someone more intelligent with all this thinks. So far war flag (signifier i think?), soul hack knuckle thingies and lone defender are my favorites of the 3 classes. Lone defender just has good spam for aggro generation/talent art (zephyr is a very close 2nd for me for similar reasons), soul hack is just awesome conceptually and i cant wait to really play around with that, and war flag is insane with its buff generation. I think they did a great job making the classes feel largely unique and fun for the most part.
I'm not as far as you are but I must say I really like Yumsmith for being an attacker with a field buff, a break, a front positional and a debuff that makes everyone do AOE, making them more interesting to play than the other attack classes I who just camp the back of the monsters.
Lone Exile is this hybrid of a face tank and a dodge tank, with great offensive stats and mastery rewards. Signifier is the best healer class and you can't change my mind.
@@xenocross6597 dawg signifier might be just one of the best classes period that shit's stupid good for supporting😂, troubadour is also crazy with the art cooldowns. I'm not sure how it performs when maxed out, but based on the sheer potential of it alone, I'm calling that the soul hacker is probably THE best class.
Rip in backslash. Even without being able to cancel, air slash will always be better to pick in chain attacks than edge thrust (unless the bonus effect thing makes all your other back damage boosts apply too, but those accessories aren't even good to use). Ok maybe it's slightly better when fully maxed but for most of the game edge thrust is just very weak. The whole role action system is questionable in the whole because it doesn't even feel consistent.
Lmao i already finished the game and beat all superbosses and, thanks to this video, just found out how unlimited sword works. I never controlled noah and disregarded it as just a short invincibility buff thats only useful in some abuse cases. Will definitely try it out.
@@SH1NK1R01 I think this is true for most buffing/effect/stance arts, like maximum voltage or dead set. Their animations are so long but this can be negated by making them a master art. The inverse is true for evasion arts, where you can extend your evasion period by attaching the evasion art onto an art with a long animation using master arts. The freedom they give you in this game is incredible.
@@SH1NK1R01 you are 100% i actually use it on alexandria/teach classes right now, i meant it was useless on sword fighter after you get 6 party member because the other arts are just so much better
Near the end of Chap 5 currently, been playing on Hard the whole way, have to admit, I'm liking the combat more than 1 and 2, would love more control of the NPC AI's however
Now that we know Smash damage is a bit busted, would you recommend swapping out violent flurry for mighty beat, and pairing it up with Air Slash to deal the most smash damage? Or would you pair it with Edge Thrust so you deal more damage in chain attacks with the positional multiplier?
I've kept Air Slash + Mighty Beat on my Noah, with Crimson Lance + Side Break. Keep Ashera as your hero, and she'll do the launch. If you can time the auto as close to the start as possible, I've hit 2-3 million on elites in the Elgares Depths, outside of chain attacks and with no buffs. Accessories were 105% smash dmg bonus, 100% Fusion art bonus, and 40% atk boost.
Another great guide! I think if you pointed out arts/skills that make great master skills from each class (if they have any that stand out) that'd be another good segment to add to these.
I always pair Sword Strike with Crimson Lance for the instant Topple and then have Eunie in Lost Exile use a combination of Soaring Tempest and Mighty Beat for an easy two step Smash.
Havent tried much end game enemies yet but so far ive liked manual interlinks as ai getting to lv3 hasnt been bad which i can then use all at the same time to spam art combos to launch and combine to do tons of damage
I love how you can still run Unlimited Sword while using other classes. Iv been running Noah with Metal Jaguar and Unlimited Sword makes you feel like Dante 🤣
Regarding aggro I'm pretty sure it just takes whoever had the highest aggro of the pair and sets that as the fusion's threat level, which in your case would have been Mio's when you divide again the aggro stays with her.
Oh I didn't think about the buffs passive on Eunie&Taion's Ouroboros orders, I was running Cross Impact with Resonant Flag but Shadow Eye is probably better when you take that into account I also like to run Glitter Stream as a master art to have multiple chances of breaking, I find enemies still tend to resist a lot even with the Break Brooch
Those guides are nicely constructed so far, and I'm looking forward to more. If there's any more content that could qualify as spoilers however, could a mention of like, the chapter number be added to avoid cases where one might go "I know what that is" and then gets mistaken? Not saying it happened to me don't worry, but I could see that being a thing and it's just reassuring to know where to stand~
I also like one of the troubadors master arts for swordfighter. I dont know its name rn but its a 4 cooldown art, that places a field effect of recharge. Very nice for more arts and more talent arts since it lowers all cooldowns.
Something I'd love to see is a rundown of what each character is good at based on their base stats. Like, I can intuit Taion probably shouldn't be tanking (or should he? Maybe his agility is high), and Sena probably shouldn't be relying on Ether (or should she? I guess attack is just one stat now, so does it even matter?) , but it'd be good to know stuff like "Noah has an unusually high base crit rate, so he's a good Incursor" or even more basic, stuff like "Character X has higher than average attack and agility, but low block rate and crit chance" or whatever.
Ok, so, based on the class rating for the character, the class bases will complement the character bases the most. For example, Noah has a B rating in heavy guard. His HP at level 70 is around 5500. But he has an S in Guardian Commander, and so has around 6500 at the same level. He also has a D rank in Incursor, Seraph, and Ogre, which is a massive pain.
Not related to the Swordmaster Class, but to Noah's Oroboros form, I like using Dragon Tail and Bounding Edge for good DPS in the Oroboros Form, Followed up with the Power Charge art before going into the Talent art. Helps a lot in fights where you have larger crowds to shred through.
while I know running the instant talent could help, I allways tend to not pick it, cause I personally like the feeling of earning it also, for gems, I exchange empower with steel claw, slightly less duting chains, but reach the "Youre Already Dead" point far faster
The main character always has a big red sword because big red swords are cool.
I'm actually pretty glad swordfighter gets some arts that don't require specific positions, even though it's basically just an offensively oriented version of Shulk. Shulk could do basically nothing if he ever got aggro.

7:25 Get rid of Steelcleaver for Empowered Combo. 70 Attack is only 4% of Noah's total attack, a 75% cancel boost would be preferable, even if it does not affect Chain Attacks.
This is fair I suppose since he has a higher attack stat with the class than normal.
Indeed
Over all I’ve found that attack up is actually not that valuable most of the time. It’s such a small increase in damage even at rank 10 that getting utility from other gems like reduced aggro or getting health would be preferable. Especially for characters you don’t intend to control.
this is great bcuz i've wanted to use his final lucky seven talent art but was turned off at how long it took to charge it up. great guide honestly
Excellent as always Enel, keep up the great content!
Enel keep making this awesome guides. Can’t wait for the next.
doom proccing is kinda boring though and not really used in important fights lol
Yeah, after the ascension quest for Ethel and Cammuravi, the game is over. There's nothing that can stop Noah with the Lucky Seven off the bat.
@@EnelXC True! My pov on it was simply out of a grinding perspective. The rank ten gems in particular.
Ending fights in one hit potentially instead of several when looking for particular drops. ^^;
Btw I don’t know how many ppl know but about the spoiler part lucky seven has a chance to apply the doom effect insta killing everything except from unique enemies and doesn’t matter what lv the enemies are either
How high is the chance?
Keep em coming mate! These are great
I think it’d be nice if you mentioned when things are spoilers for in spoiler warnings, but other than that this is a great guide! Thank you for making these and I can’t wait to see my favorite classes covered 👀
I think Ouroboros forms count as their own target and don't share threat with the members included in the Interlink
love these daily uploads. ENEL IS BACK!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who giggled to myself and combined air slash and aerial slash
Excited to see how you think about heavy guard, feels like zephyr is quick enough that ir rarely gets ficus from enemies when there's just one foe, so wondering if there's a way to make it more effective, or if the curse of the shield hammer has claimed a new victim?
It’s much more useful when you’re dealing with crowds. Two defenders are very good at distributing half of the crowds aggro towards one or the other
Heavy guard aura is a percent reduction to damage taken.
6:09 if you’re still early game, this Master Skill is inaccessible.
I like Swordfighter, but it's hard to go back to because I love Yumsmith so much more.
Also I love that your reasoning for wanting Aerial slash and Air Slash is the name. I have the same reasoning lol
Now that Ultimate Qigong is considered a top 3 skill, how does the Swordfighter's skill list change? What comes out?
Lmao i already finished the game and beat all superbosses and, thanks to this video, just found out how unlimited sword works. I never controlled noah and disregarded it as just a short invincibility buff thats only useful in some abuse cases. Will definitely try it out.
Shadow eye is essential at the start of the game if you are playing hardmode, unless you are overleveled. after you get 6 party members it is useless
I wouldn’t call it useless. As a master art it can be really helpful since you can use fusion arts to ignore the animation but get the aggro cut.
Never even noticed how much aggro Noah generated until I put Disperse Bloodlust on him.
@@SH1NK1R01 Yeah, It's an insane master art. Can't say the same for the other two...
"its funny to link air slash and aerial slash" the only justification i needed
the Smash Art from Monica, combined with Aerial Slash does insane Damage.
So anyone else noticed that Keves castle is in the remains of the Mor Ardain Titan?
funny that this handsome man put sword fighter 2nd not first
edit: YES ENELS THE BOSS , only real xenoblade 3 players know that reference
Zephyr is just too important to talk about. It’s also fun to say.
@@themonkeyman2910 lol, agreed
Near the end of Chap 5 currently, been playing on Hard the whole way, have to admit, I'm liking the combat more than 1 and 2, would love more control of the NPC AI's however
I haven't figured it out yet, but my 3 or more swordfighter build is being worked on
also would love to see a play through from you fam ik it’s a lot of work but no one has that xeno finesse like you do and they infuriating to watch
I run Shadow Eye as the associated Master Art for Stalker's Art Follow Up Field
Now that we know Smash damage is a bit busted, would you recommend swapping out violent flurry for mighty beat, and pairing it up with Air Slash to deal the most smash damage? Or would you pair it with Edge Thrust so you deal more damage in chain attacks with the positional multiplier?
Yes I would lol
Havent tried much end game enemies yet but so far ive liked manual interlinks as ai getting to lv3 hasnt been bad which i can then use all at the same time to spam art combos to launch and combine to do tons of damage
can’t wait to see the non-starting classes. Some seem like they are pretty fun.
I love how you can still run Unlimited Sword while using other classes. Iv been running Noah with Metal Jaguar and Unlimited Sword makes you feel like Dante 🤣
looking forward to another class showcase like ur old Xenoblade 2 Blades showcase
Regarding aggro I'm pretty sure it just takes whoever had the highest aggro of the pair and sets that as the fusion's threat level, which in your case would have been Mio's when you divide again the aggro stays with her.
I feel like adding chapter in seek bar to where spoiler is may be pretty nice.
Can't wait to see Ouroboros Guides :)
Oh I didn't think about the buffs passive on Eunie&Taion's Ouroboros orders, I was running Cross Impact with Resonant Flag but Shadow Eye is probably better when you take that into account
I also like to run Glitter Stream as a master art to have multiple chances of breaking, I find enemies still tend to resist a lot even with the Break Brooch
Those guides are nicely constructed so far, and I'm looking forward to more. If there's any more content that could qualify as spoilers however, could a mention of like, the chapter number be added to avoid cases where one might go "I know what that is" and then gets mistaken? Not saying it happened to me don't worry, but I could see that being a thing and it's just reassuring to know where to stand~
this game is so big lmao. I finished it a week ago and still have been playing and I had no idea it was possible to upgrade weapons
I also like one of the troubadors master arts for swordfighter. I dont know its name rn but its a 4 cooldown art, that places a field effect of recharge. Very nice for more arts and more talent arts since it lowers all cooldowns.
Ring o roses. It’s CRAZY how much that one art makes every keves class better
hey Enel you’ve been working around the clock making guides! Do you have a donation link or a patreon I can join to support?
My only two complaints about this game: Keves Cooldowns and Chain Attacks starting in random order.
I'm pretty sure the stat differences are fairly negligible, so anyone can be pretty good at anything you pick for them.
98hours in and cannot believe i never played any of these games. 3 is my first and i cant wait to play the other 2 =)
Not related to the Swordmaster Class, but to Noah's Oroboros form, I like using Dragon Tail and Bounding Edge for good DPS in the Oroboros Form, Followed up with the Power Charge art before going into the Talent art. Helps a lot in fights where you have larger crowds to shred through.
That's exactly how I went through the entire Origin area!
while I know running the instant talent could help, I allways tend to not pick it, cause I personally like the feeling of earning it
also, for gems, I exchange empower with steel claw, slightly less duting chains, but reach the "Youre Already Dead" point far faster
