DAY OF HELL...Digging rock with Komatsu 1250

- Long story short, it was a day of hell because the D11 was broke down for the day so I had no choice but to try and dig what I could without the help of a dozer ripping and stacking ahead of the 1250.

My dad used to operate a Cat 245B digging in dirt pit loading Euclid off-road trucks. I was sit on his lap as a kid. He would continue digging material to have a small stockpile to load the Euclid. He did the same when operating the Bucyrus Erie 88B shovel front. Those days are great memories. This vid took me back to those days.

I dig rock all day long with a Cat 374 fitted with quick hitch. Flick the bucket off and put a ripper on. Works great for us, saves ripping the ass out the bucket 👍

I have only operated a Komatsu 360 and that was in sandy loam. I kinda figured the 1250 would break through that hard material like a knife in butter.

Curious as to why you guys dont rip it first with either a frost pick on the 1250 or with a dozer? I understand area blasting restrictions but I dont see the point of continuing on this way.
