Join me as we continue with Day 1 & Day 2 of This War of Mine designed by Michał Oracz and Jakub Wiśniewski. This game was published originally on Kickstarter by Awaken Realms and the retail release handled by Galakta! Will Bruno, Boris and Emilia be able to survive? Time to find out! Enjoy and keep on rolling solo! ;D FYI: 45:40 I forgot to flip Hunger 1 to Hunger 2 for Boris not eating on Day 3. I will do this at the start of the next video.
Such a good solo game. Playing solo is perfect, as you can totally immerse yourself in the theme, without feeling pressured to move by another player. Good job on the video.
You're in for a tough but unforgettable time. Still to date my #1 solo game of all time. It's gritty, raw, real and will draw emotion during solo play like nothing else out there. It's a masterpiece without question.
@RollingSolo It's been on my list for some time, and I've been studying it for a while, so I believe you. Just wasn't ready to get it to the table yet. My 1st copy gets here tomorrow..
The die rolling "result" you get at 55:30 (no visible result) is at the right lower corner of the rubble die card and it's "nothing happens". As for the Narrative, I'll go with "Secret Storage". Love the video and I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter of the story!
Hey Gabriel! Hmm based on a top down look at my die it was dead even between all sides showing. So I couldn’t guess on that one. ;p Looking forward to the next one as well and thanks for voting! :)
@@RollingSolo Yes, Gabriel is correct. Should of been Nothing Happens. But hey, you got lucky with the roll of C. I do think only a character present in the scavenging group benefit from that C result.
I just found your channel randomly and I normally prefer playthroughs with more people. However you are so charismatic, the production value is high and your explanations are on point that I actually dont care. Im even watching playthroughs of games im not even that interested. Just wanted to say youre doing a great job.
Excellent walkthrough as always. I just love how this game plays; even though I have more than dozen successful campaigns behind me, I still find it interesting and engaging not just to play it again (with the expansions it is even better), but to watch others choices and stories that develop in their games. I see you took a bit conservative approach, with not taking great risks :) I personally always engage in Reality Impacts; secret events or objects I often get through them were very often the game changer: either led me to survival through campaign (more than not) or would end up with a head shot XD (that sucked when happened). However, I think you missed a rule at the night raid of the second day, when used Vigilante Watch card. I think that you character on the guard still had a right to role a grey dice and add the result to the vigilante watch effects. Otherwise, thanks for the video! Loved it!
Hey Viktor, I agree with you that it’s a very interesting game to see played. I would also find it fun to watch others and see how they do. Thanks for checking out the video! :)
I absolutely love this game and your play through is so exciting. May I ask where did you get the bed and heater? If it came with the Kickstarter then can you tell me of anywhere that you know maybe I can order some miniatures for my game? Thanks
I know I'm a year late, just getting into this game, but at the 58m mark, shouldn't the Starving People card have been removed from the game the first time around as per the red writing at the bottom? Or am I incorrect?
I don't think Bruno can lower his fatigue from the rubble die. Result C says choose a character "present", which to me means a character who is scavenging.
Hey Lynn, could be! I’ll take a look. ‘Present’ is a tough one to decipher but could related to Scavenging specifically or just present in play. I’ll do some digging :)
I just successfully finished one base game campaign! Now I'm in a limbo of deciding if I want the expansions or not. This game is so super dark to the point that it feels even darker than Kingdom Death. Definitely a GOOD game but I don't know if I want to play it again... 😥
It certainly is heavy but it’s a masterpiece in terms of actually learning how harsh that time of situation really is. A lot to be learned there. I appreciate the ‘realness’ of it that typically is washed over these days. Cheers!
@@RollingSolo yeah, it helped me out a lot! It could be used as water to drink or as a misery boost, like alcohol but without the fatigue cost. Pretty handy..

I have a brown, grey and blue d20. That i spin for resources. Saves a lot of fiddlines. Even though the components looking great 🙂
I like that! Done that with other games at times to reduce the suffering haha

100% agree with you. It’s a masterpiece in board game design, content around the theme.
I love how surprised you were of your high roll on the 9 lol... 24:28
hahaha 😜
My TWoM copy is on its way. Appreciate your videos. Learned quite a bit. Thanks.

What a story that is unfolding. If this is what it's like just to watch the game, I cannot wait to actually play it.
It’s a Top 5 game for me. Easily!

This game reminds me a lot of Robinson Crusoe. Both great games!!!
It certainly has that survival element nailed down and it executes it very well!

I appreciate this comment! These types of comments keep me going. I love what I do and it’s good to hear it’s enjoyed. Cheers!
Amazing work as always Adam. The game with the two expansions is in the mail (stuck somewhere between TO and MO :)) thanks to you. Can't wait.
Hey Nexus! Really hope you enjoy it. It’ll challenge you and your choices really have a big time impact. Cheers!

Can’t forget that unarmed roll! ;)
New video! thanks you very much, very good
Hope you enjoy it! Having a blast with this game so far. Be sure to vote at the end of the video. Cheers!

Me too. It’s my all-time best solo game. Without question.
Etsy! Take a search there and you find enough options to juggle easy! 👍🏼
Feels bad when i go to the toilet and can't get out because i didn't bring lockpicks to open the closed door
Ah yes! Those are important haha
Do you have the option of not doing the visitor experience? I thought that was part of going outside and rolling not to get shot?
Hey Julie! Good question. I’d have to have a look the next time I have the game out. Hopefully soon! Bit foggy atm.
Was hoping you would pick kick the door down so I could find out if it counts as an action using a character or a free action involving no characters.
Hey! I really liked that one as well. The narrative action cards are free to use unless it states it requires an action to do so. Cheers!
@@RollingSolo Thank you that's how I've been playing it, there's lot of people playing it wrong from what I have seen from answers on bgg.
Shouldn't Boris's hunger increase to 2 at 45:40 because he didn't eat?
Good eye! I have this in the pinned comment ;)
Thanks for watching and this will be corrected in the next one.
@@RollingSolo hey... great walktrhoug!.. there's an hidden rule.. 351.. Eating at any time.. so you can eat during the day phase for extra action..

It looks like you have forgotten to let boris suffer from not eating in day 3.
Great catch! I’ve noted this in the pinned comment and I’ll correct it for the next one.

Great series as usual. Where did you get the d10?
Thanks Darren! The D10 came from the Kickstarter. Cheers :)
I'm pretty sure you don't resolve the Spirit of sleeping characters, because they're too asleep to be unhappy about lack of coffee for instance
I’d have to take a second look but I believe they do have effects still. Cheers!
Sounds like someone is trying to make it easier on themselves 🤣
@@floodkevin4716 it's in script 150
I dont know about energy drinks, but i once found a case of Coca-Cola :D
Really? haha
Count your blessings I guess 😜

Comment of the year here! haha
This is just Robinson Crusoe.
Not at all my friend! A very different experience with the only crossover being survival. They play completely different. :)
