For those of you that are saying the s2000 is rotary swapped no it is not. I did some digging around and found that the car was entered in the HDPE plus race category. I'll quote the description for the HDPE category from the gridlife website: "The HPDE PLUS classification is intended for daily driven cars with bolt on modifications only. This is our enthusiast class and intended for advanced HPDE drivers that are new to competitive driving." So there you go, it can't be rotary swapped when it was entered for a stock engine category. I think ginguim is putting the f20c from the Honda into his Miata tbh.

When I got my Miata, I looked at some great brakes. My Lucas vendor talked me out of it, because I wasn't taking it on the track. His words...there's limited virtue in stopping 3x faster than the guy behind you on the capital beltway. But, they do look nice! Glad you got the warped rotors sorted.
you inspired me to buy a Miata, literally the only car in my area for sale that's popular in the car community, going to start with a beater, because I feel like saving a Miata, everyone buys a clean Miata with no rust, I'm going to grab an na from a junkyard and save it from the fate of a crusher, to soon be a street legal track car pushing about 300-400HP

Ahhh brakes. Something I wish I'd upgraded on my car before it died. They worked fine, but while chasing sports cars down mountain passes - a regular pastime for me - I would often encounter some serious brake fade, and a weird shuddering through the pedal when they got hot. One of the things on a list of many:
-fix oil leak
-flush and upgrade cooling system
-replace head gasket
-coilovers
-brakes (obvs)
-replace timing belt.
Ultimately, it was the timing belt that killed it in the end. It snapped. :(
just so you know when you are welding if you do a stitch weld which is when you pull the trigger for like .5 to 1 second and stop and then put the end in front of that weld and keep repeating the process you will have a stronger and cleaner weld. the weld should look kind of like a bunch or flat discs overlaying like halfway over each other.

I really wish I could get a big brake kit for my truck. Like, seriously, the smallest wheel it'll ever have is a 19! And the biggest brakes either Wilwood or Brembo make are 15" rotors that are 1.5" wide! Which is PERFECT for a full size, fully built, sound deadened, everyday driver show and go truck. Just gimmie 8 piston fronts and 6 piston rears, and I'm golden! {{Hell, maybe 8 piston all around.}}

With the welder, if you are running flux core double check your polarity. Mine was slagging up pretty bad, then i actually read the manual and discovered you had to switch them up with flux core.
If you want a cheap welder get a stick/arc. Less money than an equivalent wire welder. You will be able to weld thick and thin after you have the fundamental stuff down and get comfortable. It is slower but by bending the rod you can weld in places a wire can't.

VTEC in a miata, you dont see that everytime hahahahahahaha, that can be awesome and use a s2000 and a nice turbo can make a preaty amount of horse power....
Blackbird75 they can make tons of power NA, at least in comparison to the 1.6 turbo set he's currently running. Keep in mind the f20c held the record for most power per litre in a naturally aspirated engine for years.

When your welding try using a c pattern. As your welding draw half circles it makes a nice clean weld. When i started to weld i used a 90 amp welder with fluxcore my welding patern was shit and i got a welding tip off a buddies dad who is a certified welder and he taught me how to weld tig mig and arc.

You installed a Huge brake kit on the blue miata, so it's obvious that you'll keep Molly and you'll doing an engine swap. Now, you haven't started anything yet with the 1.8l 500hp project so I'm assuming you'll swap the fc20 engine in Molly and turbocharge It...that will make sense. And It will be freaking cool I'm so exited tho...anyway I can't wait to understand your plans about Molly 😍

Get some Anti-spatter Mig gel for the welder and just dip the tip if it in, it reduces spatter
G'day mate. Noticed in the video you have a can of brake clean next to the tube you were practicing welding on. If you are cleaning material for welding with brake clean make sure you use non chlorinated brake clean or you will create phosgene gas which is not good for you health.

You need a valve to control how much brake balance you want you could go 60 40 or 50 50 or 40 60 the brake valve you would have to run hardline but the valve is made by wilwood
