IT really is the motor mounts, the torque of even a stock 1.8L Miata can wobble the driveshaft and cause you to miss shifts if the car is old enough, let alone a turbo 1.6 with twice it's factory power. I know what you're sayin' G. Get them Motormounts!!! & maybe diff bushings too if u want the whole package. motormounts r the main thing that'll help tho.

Ive done it once but ive legit only got 4 hours of driving.i realised tho and put it into 3

Little tip for ya buddy, Leave on the last yellow light right before it turns green. By the time your car starts moving, the light will be green and you'll be good to go.
A 500hp motor will also help...

That’s some decent mph. If you can get the car dialed in to hook well and shift well you’ve got a 12 second car. Maybe a small drag radial and a 1.7 or better 60ft. Assuming the drivetrain can handle that sort of launch you’ve easily got enough power for 12s

Ever think of just building your Turbo Miata to do just drag racing? You talked about doing an engine build with 500hp. Why not go and do a drag car for summer and use the Rallyata for the rest of the year.

On a side note, if you were to get your 60ft down to a 1.8 you should be around a 13.50. The rule of thumb is for every 0.1 of a sec reduction in the 60ft it is ~0.15 sec 1/4 mile et reduction.
Overall I am surprised at what you were able to get your 60ft down to. The mph is good for mid to low 13s like i said, but I don't see you getting a lower 60ft unless you use some drag radials, but if you were to do that I bet you'd need new axles quickly.

I ran a 13.5 at 12 psi with an open diff and 195 tires. 1.9 60ft.
You don't need slicks you just have to practice and drive better.

Nah he just needs practice. This car is a 13.5 sec car all day and maybe even low 13 with a good driver, but that's part of the experience and enjoyment. You just keep getting better and faster....

Finally real drag racing... no Forza crap
I personally had trouble getting into second and third when driving my miata hard, but a shifter rebuild as you mentioned helped immensely. I'd also recommend changing your transmission fluid every 10-20k miles depending on how hard you drive the car, Ford Motorcraft's stuff made my difficulties getting into gear nearly disappear. Very nice run, btw.

I just went to the drag strip 2 days ago. I ran a 14.1 1/4mile at 100.93 trap speed and a 2.4sec 60ft (could not get traction at all). I've never been to a drag strip before too so I know exactly what you feel. feels so fast on the track but videos look slow. it's so much fun.

Bro u got a quick simple single turbo Miata. And a suggestion for some~~ more views u should built a drag car because u got an rx7 for drifting, turbo Miata for road cross, supercharged Miata for off-road, and now u need a drag Mazda mini truck or something different 😁😁 just a suggestion only if u have time or just want to have more fun
