A powerfully emotional and dramatic song! I can practically imagine the character at center stage, lights dimmed, spotlight on her as she pours out the love for her unborn child (similar to "I'd Give My Life for You"), or a follow spot as she paces across the stage....

In the faint refrain of Elmo in the distance, yearning for a warm hand to hold--
One that is not as dead to me as my dull affection for ill-mannered would-be men
And elevated-mood spells that send me reeling to a new heart-spattered trek--
Could it be that the lullabies and nursery rhymes of olde
Point to a resurrection of this little faith to which I can’t really connect?
I’m along for this kiddy ride at a grand amusement park,
Or so I thought, ‘cause when it gets hard, I get scared and try to flee,
And I want to stay scarce and play a hide and seek that won’t find me--
But losing her bright-eyed blondeness hurts my achy play-doh heart,
Even when conceiving of her goneness spins me finally free.
Why do I even retrieve back to me the notion of solace or peace,
When her smiling face and cute tooth-gap keep me confused--
I just want to know she loves me for real with my awaiting hand to choose
And not just because her “Other Mommy” pushes her to seem pleased

Can’t I just swing her to and fro in my folks’ backyard without thinking

Her Mother needs to be someone put-together, someone who knows
How to keep her wits about her and still show the emotion needed
To communicate love and contentment to her precious child who’s heeded
That strong woman’s words and insights and example and who grows
In admiration for her equally brave offspring that is worth being ever-repeated.
Could I ever truly be that woman, beyond all remnants of this sick life?
Save me from myself, for I completely need you, you who sympathize.
I am in ill-respite from my last spiraling frenzy and sadly-fitting guise.
In an ideal and less-pain-filled world, I would have my daughter more time,
But her (more-real) mother is contesting my ability to see her at all, and I cry.
Her Mother is another, though it is still me. I have not an understanding of
What I can do, and will this child ever be free of my senseless grief intensified?
Will her world ever be rid of the thief to sanity that is this carcass half-blind
To the unconditional love meant for her, and meant for the daughter of
Her Other Family? They strive to keep to the rules of the Court and all we’ve signed...
But what about her best interest?
Am I not (also) that very thing?
I know this might all be some cosmic test,
Yet I’m not certain I should even be entertaining
The smallest notion
That she belongs a day
With all the commotion that surrounds
The entire essence of me.

Moonchild he does, after his passed-on Mother who instilled in him his voracity love of La Literatura, and then The Nothing is vanquished and Bastian ("Fortress") rides the white dog dragon (Amelia's best friend when she's here is Chrissy, a white Malty-Poo-Pug i love calling Christmas (Suzanne Somers in There's Company? Lol), like the White Fool's Dog in Tarot ("Fool for God") the Soul of the whole deck. My Mayan Galactic Standard Calendar name based on my full Natal Day is WHITE ELECTRIC WORLD-BRIDGER (IG: @muse.illuminatrix), and my companion (Koinonos in Greek) in the reading is a white dog. In Disenchanted, which my mom and Amelia and I beheld earlier, Omnibenevolent Giselle's stepdaughter dismisses her as only her "Stepmother" with no right to lead and guide her because she was not her "real mom" - which in the Disney world translates as wicked and vain. Only when Morgan recognizes and unifies and realizes (the first three steps of Spiritual Mind Treatment guided by Science of Mind mystic Ernest Holmes) that Giselle is not only her Mother but the Mother of the Universe who keeps her Eywa Memory Tree in both Andalasia and in the 3rd Density, then Happily Ever After is embraced in OUR WORLD and not just far-off I'm possibilities. My ex-husband and his fiancee recorded and posted a video when Mia was 3 showing my profile video here on Fb and saying that i am NOT her Mother and that Diana is, and for a bit she called me by first name, the wicked (I'm a Christian White Witch ("Wise One") stepmother that depleted me (and Amy Adams) of her magic until their joined Love saved all worlds. In short, Amelia Curtis and I (we have basically all the same passions like singing and exercise and acting and dancing and YES, reading) and we have the exact same hair color and neighboring iris tones and used to see ghosts like her dad could extract dark and self-derogating thoughts from my maid-of-honor's mind into a crystal (until he told Google during my pregnancy (we conceived on the honeymoon and he said he felt a feminine spirit enter my body after saying she would be the MLK of gender equality before he channeled her from the Heavens to my awaiting legal pad) that he was "madly in love with my wife's best friend" the same week he cyber-cheated. The night before my sex-determination ultrasound (but i had conversations with Amelia since elementary school and kept an egg to represent her for my parent-and-child experiment in psychology class at 17 (it's behind my TV in floral jean battern in a lacy basket). Darren swore he wouldn't fight for her and then when i had her 8 weeks early via vaginal labor induction due to the first of three neuroendocrine tumors
