- It has been a while since I looked for the Green Woodpecker and the Great Spotted Woodpecker.
I have a tree in mind where they have been active so lets see if we can find the Woodpecker. Green or Great Spotted I am not fussy but both would be great.
More UK wildlife and nature.
Thanks for watching..... KG's Photography.

Whoa, the green woodpecker. Great shots Keith! One on my wish list...
Thanks Jeroen. Very skittish birds so not that easy unless you know where they frequent. I have no doubt you will get one. Cheers Keith
Hi Keith great watch as always and you had some really stunning images in there to, we still see our great spotted woodpecker virtually every day and yesterday I had a great shock as a blue Jay visited but by the time I ran upstairs got the camera out he'd gone wether it will come back I don't know as never seen one before. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
Thanks Clive. Great that you have one visiting regularly, we only ever had one in the garden once and that was a Green Woodpecker. Shame you did not manage to get the Blue Jay, maybe it will be back.. Stay safe, cheers Keith.
What a treat to get both GS & Green Woodpecker. I haven't seen a Green Woodpecker for about 2 years, hear them often but they've alluded me.
The Warblers at 2:34 & 2:49 look like Chiffchaff & the Common Whitethroat & Warbler at 2:39 are Garden Warbler. They are normally so hard to see & buried in the undergrowth so a couple of lovely shots. Keep it up.
Thanks Stewart I knew I could rely on you to help me out with the ID's :-). They are such beautiful little birds but like you say can be difficult to photograph. Cheers Keith
Fabulous video Keith, absolutely beautiful.
Thanks Karen.
Some great shots. I've been chasing a green woodpecker for weeks. Got shots of it on top of a small tree but still hoping to capture it on a tree trunk. The classic woodpecker shot.
Thanks Nick. I have always found with Woodpeckers they have to come to you for the best shots as they are very skittish. Keep going you will get the shot. Cheers Keith
Great.
Thanks
Hi Keith again hearing plenty of Chiffchaff song in the video so " Warbler image 1 would go with that also looks good for Garden Warbler on " Warbler" image 2.
Thanks Glen. I think the Chiffchaff is a good shout I definitely finite wasn’t sure about image 2 so probably right. Cheers Keith
Great video Keith as always. I love the Wren song. Thank you.
Thanks Steve. That was one noisy Wren....lol
You did well to get images of G.S. Woodpecker around a nesting area have found them extremely tricky to get to grips with in that situation - nice images of the G.W. also. 👍
Thanks Glenn. Yes tricky birds at the best of times but glad I managed to get a few images. Cheers Keith
Hi Keith,
Good Video,
Great Spotted Woopeckers can be hard to get shots of as they don't sit still for too long. I managed to get a couple at my local park, but a lot of the time it's a case of hearing them and not seeing them !..😀👍
Thanks Eddie. Quite often with woodpeckers they see you before you see them...lol Like you has you can always hear them but finding them is not so easy. Cheers Keith
Very good 👍
Thanks
Excellent video as always Keith👍
Thanks Laurence really appreciate it.
Nice one buddy! They do seem to like Ash trees, the Ash is always the last tree in a woodland to come into leaf and usually the peckers have their young before they are fully in leaf which is good if you can get a good nesting spot like you have! Great vid that 😉👍 JP
Thanks JP and I have now learned what the tree was 🙂. Cheers Keith
Great video again Keith i'm pleased i'm not the only one that cant tell one warbler from another i got one a few weeks back i'm going to say chiff chaff lol have good weekend 📸👍
Thanks Andy. I can tell a Chiffchaff if its singing but that is a real giveaway lol. Have a great weekend mate. Cheers Keith
Nice video Keith, you got some great images given how high in the tree the woodpeckers were. 👍🏻
Thanks Reevesy. Yeah would’ve been nice to get a bit closer but we have to take what we are given. Cheers Keith
great video and nice shots i was out Tuesday had good day
Thanks Adrian Hope you got some good stuff on Tuesday. Cheers Keith
Awesome captures, A few days ago I was able to film it while It was taking a bath :) Like 4 from Italy
Excellent Peri that would be good to see. Cheers Keith
Lovely shot of the Green Woodpecker Keith, not one I've got decent images of yet (on my to do list😂) Cracking video mate👍
Thanks mate. I sure you will get one before too long.
Lovely to see Keith I got lucky with a nesting pair last year awesome bird great video !
Thanks Mark. Great when you can get reasonably close. Could have done with your 600mm. Cheers Keith
@@KGsPhotography Yes it can help particularly in the lower light !
Fantastic video sir💓
Thanks for your comment and viewing my video Habeeb, much appreciated. Cheers Keith.
Hi Keith , can I ask were the peckers at Summer Leys .
Not actually on the reserve but further over by Marys lake Alan.
hi mate are you really using the R5? howcomes its so grainey at a low iso?
Yes Alfred it is the R5. Which images are you talking about in particular?
@@KGsPhotography most of them, are you using adobe lightroom presets mate? They havent got up to date right profiles for any of the r series yet, DPP has correct profiles which is a bit of a lethargic work flow granted
Or you could buy the presets: courses.willgoodlet.com/canon-r5-camera-matching-profiles
DPP still looks better imo tho.
No not using any presets. They are large crops which doesn’t help. I am also shooting in CRAW to save disc space. Might try RAW and see if it makes a difference. Have to be honest just watched it through and not seeing much grain on my setup. Maybe should have gone to specsavers 😂
@@KGsPhotography ive re watched and i think it might have been because i watched on my tv screen in lounge
Hi Alfred. Yes that would explain with cropped images and been blown up on a big screen I can see why that would be. Great to get the feedback though. I have taken a few images in RAW as apposed to CRAW and I can definitely see the improvement and I guess the file size is not a problem as most wildlife images tend to get cropped in some way. Really appreciate your comments and watching my videos. Cheers Keith
