It’s impressive how your movies are touching at times. They go further than just observations...
Wow- I've never imagined a morning dive could be skittish OR rare! Here in Missouri, you'll almost step on them before they fly away.
Same in So Oregon.
Not slightly skid dish
around people. One pair nested in a empty hanging basket on my patio.
You are Blessed sunshine. Thanks for taking care of Mother Earth. 🌿🕊️💜
What incredible number of edits you put into your productions. And so many different camera shots. The results are spectacular. Thanks for showing us your world. Ronn
Your vids helped to inspire me to build relationships with our local birds and it didn't take long for awesome experiences to happen. Even helped me and my husband's relationship. We have started to name the little guys 😁❤
That is really great about you having a easy time knowing some of the wild birds in your own area. Even more awesome that it helped your relationship. 👍 thank for the nice comment and for watching.

@@micahbirdlover8152 Yeah, such a wonderful video~🤗
hey that's my profile name 🤨but it's 🙂
I know the feeling. The animals tie me to the earth. Connected to the source
Thank-you for sharing! I live in the middle of a small city with a small patch of trees behind my apartment building. I started feeding the local wildlife last spring. One of my kitchen windows overlooks the downstairs neighbors roof so I put a nut and dried fruit mixture and peanuts in the shell out there and out on my deck every day. I feed everyone from a pack of pigeons to squirrels, bluejays and even a pair of morning doves. My two (fixed) indoor cats have live TV. 🤣
Oh my gosh that is so cute and funny. Cool idea with feeding the birds and your cats get a great view. Haha.
Better than animal planet! Your connection with your bird friends is inspiring.
Awww! I was so mesmerized by watching that I wasn't ready for it to end. I started feeding the birds 2 years ago and since then have 2 pair of Blue-jays that come to the peanut platform feeder. I wish I could tell them apart! Today, I'm going to see if their toes look different. 😄
How I love your jays.
Wow Leslie. You have a great camera. Gorgeous footage. 🕊️🥰
Thank you for the video. Very nice God bless you. Your friend Kirk
You're welcome. Thanks alot for watching the video. Have a great weekend

I have blue jay and tuffed titmice fledglings at my feeders. Its been great!
So nice. You give me a break from everything.
Absolutely beautiful video Lesley ! Jays are among my favorite birds- along with about a dozen other species! Lol
Hahah I know what you mean, the jays are a big favorite but there are so many other awwsome birds that I love too. Thanks for taking the time to watch and for leaving a nice comment
I fully understand that sense of peace they bring - I feel the same about birds, they are so lovely and amazing. I love love love jays too.
It is so impressive how you are able to show case their individual personalities!
New life is so very precious! Wonderful video, dear Lesley! You share your heart as well as your video skills! Thank you!
I agree, there is just something about new life. Thank you for your kind comment. Have a great weekend
@@LesleytheBirdNerd Thank you! You too and God bless & protect you and yours!
aww cute 🥰 name Peppa
I miss Hermoso he was such a sweet bird and was always one of my favorite blue jays in your videos. But he still lives on through his baby jays in the DNA and the jays personality. Something I always found interesting in nature is that there’s a constant cycle of life and death two opposite ideas.
Thanks Leslie, I'm new to your channel in the last month or so. I'm guessing but I bet you'll make a bird nerd out of me yet.
That is so awesome that you can experience these wonderful Jays! It appears that you are made for each other, a sort of give & take. That sure is a special relationship. 😊
Ever caught a male grouse doing the crazy dance they do? I finally saw it for the first time last Fall, the dark ruff around the neck pops out into a large circle and they do this crazy dance for the female, its a sight to see for sure and now I dont feel so bad about my own dancing skills. Or lack thereof.
Saw my first fledge crow yesterday at work, Ive been feeding the crows at home and work both and the work crows have gotten much friendlier the past few weeks. One adult and one fledge were on the edge of the driveway yesterday and they let me roll up in the pickup truck, they were maybe 6 feet from my window.
Best look Ive ever gotten of a young crow, they sure look "bristly" this time of year and its the smallest crow Ive ever seen on the ground. Went for a walk with Mom today and got a great look at a red bellied woodpecker, that was a treat.
My Jay's have started to get used to me and come around for peanuts when I go out on my deck. While I line up the peanuts in the railing, they wait on top of my feeder which is just a few fit from where I usually lay out the peanuts for them. I never truly realized how beautiful they are. They look like they were water color or stained glass.🥰
Aww that is so nice about you having them coming close to you and I love that you are seeing just how beautiful they are. Bluejays are lovely birds to see up close and personal. I love them. Thanks for watching and for the nice comment
You are such a talented photographer/videographer! I am so grateful you share your birding with us! I feel like part of your "birding family"! You cannot imagine in ne how much your hard work has helped me know and enjoy my backyard birds and how to care for them!
Ps: I am overjoyed about Hermoso's offspring! So wonderful!
And one more thing - this really IS your best video yet! Jeesh, I was laughing, I was crying! 2 thumbs up!
This was really fun to watch Lesley. Great footage! It's easy to see why you love these adorable birds so much, and it's so endearing to see their unique personalities and how they gleefully respond to your presence.
Thank you Kurt for the kind comment. I'm so happy that you found this video fun to watch, thanks for taking the time to tune in.
@@LesleytheBirdNerd I can't stop watching your videos 😉 thery so great 👍😄
Oh this is so peaceful and beautiful to watch! Thank u!!! (And as I am sitting by an open window listening to my birds sing, lol)
Thank you kindly. I'm glad that you saw this video as peaceful, and how nice that you are listening to birds sing right now, that is the case for me too. I hear White-throated Sparrows, Robins, and Goldfinches. So pretty.
@@LesleytheBirdNerd how to get bluejays to trust you 🙂🤔
I'm glad you are happy being with those cute little birds.
Thank you 🥰
That was nice of you to notice the tarp, realize to provide water, is a life saver for all living beings. The narration is so enjoyable, and i imagine walking with you and experiencing the blue jay ways.
We just love these baby Jays! We have one of our own babies who has been visiting lately... just melts my heart!
After a rough week of chaos and stress your videos calm me down and make me feel so happy. I appreciate you being there for me even though you might not know it.
That does my heart good. So very glad to provide some kind of relief to you. Thank you for your nice comment. Take care. Enjoy the rest of your weekend
I love how your videos include so many aspects of the environment. Water, forest, and meadow. Plants and animals. It really gives a full feel for the area you are in.
It makes the videos so relaxing to watch.
@@caroline6218 Yeah, it does. Good point!
The world would be a much Happier place IF everyone made time to experience nature/birding. It is so peaceful/healing/therapeutic. One positive thing about these lockdowns, more folks discovered their backyard! Look around, there is beauty all around us. #Happybirding Thank you Lesley for your outstanding Work! I hope you are surrounded by sunshine 🌞 and things are looking up for you! 💕 from Vero Beach, Florida
I swear blue jays are the most beautiful birds ever! We only have stellar jays which are beautiful in their own right but man yours are so incredibly blue!
Such beautiful birds. Cool footage!🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
Beautiful video. Thanks
That is so cool how the birds take food right out of your hand. 🙂
Love the Jays!
Lovely footage. If I had an award to give Lesley's films would receive it. Thank you!
Very rewarding this time of year - I had the pleasure of hosting two nesting pairs of Eastern Blue Birds, and nesting of House Wrens for the fifth time in six years - all babies fledged so now lonely without their tiny voices. The White-Throated Sparrows flew North a few weeks ago. I have a pair of Red-Bellied Wood Peckers but not able to see a nest but know it is close as well as a pair of Downey Woodpeckers. - Thanks for all your work.
We see mourning doves all the time where I live , Ohio. My Mom even has one that makes a nest somewhere silly in her back yard and she's always having to move it some place safer. LOL 😆
Oh my gosh no way. That is too funny. I hope it ends up figuring it out. Thanks for the nice comment and for watching. Have a great weekend
i never see morning doves 🕊️ but in bird books there beautiful 🥰
i heard these yesterday but never saw one🥰☝️
Very cute Lesley! The robins here are almost ready to fly. They keep stretching their wings. Thanks for this
You're welcome buddy. Glad to hear about the baby robins close to fledging. How cool
Thank you for sharing this amazing video with your incredible experiences and profound understanding with birds!
My pleasure, thank you for taking the time to watch and for leaving a nice comment. Have a great weekend
Lovely storytelling and footage, my wife and I enjoy these diary videos so much!
Thank you!!! I missed this video when it was first posted until today.
I am lucky enough to have met 5 different sets of fledglings this year.
Unfortunately I lost one of my female jays after her little ones had fully fledged. Her mate stayed with young ones until the very beginning of September.
I am guilty of naming the wild birds. I am crushed when they go missing for days on end. My youngest named ever is Sissy as she stepped up after her mom passed. I carry on full whistle conversations. Sissy is for big sister as the other 4 are males.
Rambling over... My jays are in and out for peanuts and finally getting used to the peanut feeder and breaking open the shells.
PS you solved the oven bird song!!! I hadn't figured it out for 5 years now I know thank you!!!!
Enjoy your lovely birds. I am hoping to capture the warbler migration next spring in 2022. NEVER have I seen that many.
You absolutely have the most kind spirit of anybody I've ever seen those wild birds trust you completely you have such a beautiful spirit I'm so glad I found your channel when I'm in a crappy mood when people piss me off I turn on your channel and sometimes it seems like it just all melts away thank you for posting these videos you're a blessing to me.
I’m so glad to hear that you got to see Hermoso and Fiona’s offspring. They are so cute, too! I hope that they are blessed with longevity, and it’s great that at least one of them resembles some of Hermoso’s attributes and personality. Thanks for sharing, Lesley!
They are the sweetest baby jays. I knew Hermoso only as an adult but seeing those two allowed me a good glimpse into how their father must have been as a fledgling. Thanks for the nice comment, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing Hermosa and Fermosa.
You and your mate for life will make awesome parents, the world desperately needs more kind souls like you. Go forth and prosper 🐣
You have a perfect soothing voice for these videos, and I see why the birds take food from you as well. 🐦
The little begging wing flaps are my favorite
I don't understand how anyone could thumb-down this video. Frankly, it's almost Nat-Geo-level documentary quality. Maybe they don't like all the jays being named. People have been doing that for centuries, though.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful birds with everyone.
Really love the birds and scenery! The sky seems violet😊
so love your videos. the jays seem to be nature's clowns with their funny ways. thanks as always for sharing.
Great footage, and storytelling Lesley! 👍
Speaking of Sparrows, they took to one of my feeders near their nest. They demolished the large feeder. I've decided not to fill the feeder with food they prefer. It became scary for me to walk around and dodging their sporadic racing flights! The same male comes to me daily since, telling me off loud and clear.
Love your channel
I enjoy your Blue Jays. Really all your birds.
That was just beautiful.
Thanks so much Nancy
@@LesleytheBirdNerd I like the name hermosa 🥰

Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful birding experiences with us.
You're most welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a nice comment.
We have areas in western Michigan that are like those in this video. I walked in the woods in a county park this morning which has all of the birds shown here, although the park is only about 237 acres. The size doesn’t matter so much as long as it offers a variety of birds. Thanks so much for the beautiful video!
Beautiful bird captures and sceneries. Wonderful songs, such a joy to watch and listen to. Love how they feed from your hand and you've named some. Love the name Fiona 😂 Very moving video. Thank you 😊
I always learn so much from your videos and love exploring with you! I can’t believe I didn’t know the difference between a damselfly and a dragonfly until this video. Thank you!!!
Happy Canada Day ...🇨🇦

I’ve discovered Blue & Grey Jays enjoy homemade suet cakes...
My property is home to 7 female turkeys 1 Tom...
Wonderful watching the mating -forging ....🦃
So peaceful and lovely.
Beautiful video.Thanks for sharing @LesleyBirdNerd
Finally! Thanks to you a mystery I couldn't solve no matter how I tried has been solved. This summer a bird sang everyday in the back trees. A vireo! Thank you.
Saturday night and I get to spend almost 30 minutes with Miss Nerd . Life is good. PS morning doves around here are almost tame and I am not sure that bolds well for them.
Hey thank you, Allan. Glad you like this. :) interesting about the mourning doves are in your area compared with the ones I get
@@LesleytheBirdNerd I’m surprised that Mourning Doves are more timid up north, too. A Mourning Dove was literally walking in our backyard patio around multiple people during a 4th of July party with family almost 8 years ago.
Accidentally flushed a black and white warbler off of her nest she did a little broken wing display very cool nest i got outta there love your channel! Very relaxing and educational!!!
Thank you for sharing. I had 4 blue jays visiting my feeders last summer/fall, disappeared for most of winter making occasional appearance. Over the last few weeks they reappeared with increasing numbers. I counted 12 yesterday at feeders on my railings, deck and ground. The fun part is watching when the blue jays and mourning doves are together, the mourning* doves actually chase the blue jays away. Tufted titmouse will come behind the jays and do a quick grab and fly away. It is so fun to watch nature in action, always amazes me how so many different birds have found my feeders. It is interesting to see who will eat in harmony with others, like cardinal and juncos and who waits their turn at feeder like the chickadee and nuthatch.
The babies are so fun to watch! I didn't realize they moulted their first year, I learned something new! Love your videos!
They have my 💖 as well. I am blessed to live with an urban front yard and suburban/sanctuary back yard, which is certified for wildlife here (National Wildlife Federation). You chronicle my life, so beautifully, as well.
Pure joy Lesley!!!
I enjoy your videos & your keen eye noticing the tiny differences in your birds. Thank you
Thank you kindly, Cathy.
Wonderful video! Gosh, I love your work! Thanks for sharing.
Especially love seeing the Bluejay sunning it's beautiful blues and whites and their special shades of the colors.
What great videos you create.
Thanks
My house is blessed with a pair of nesting Bluejays somewhere they have a nest.I will continue to get to know them everyday, feed often peanuts🥜 pigeons are also around on top of any feeding seeds. I must keep them pigeons away from the entrance of my house.
Such a lovely post. Thanks to Lesley for its creation. I do disagree on one small note. Your comment about peace not coming through. I say it most certainly does, along with love, care, nurturance, affection, and devotion. The narration is elevating. Well done!
Your videos are therapeutic. Thanks for posting them.
That's is so nice to know. Glad you enjoy them
Head over heels for this channel ❤️🙌🏻❤️
Blue Jay's are some of my favorites! We have some that come to our feeder and birdbath! Thanks for the beautiful and informative videos!
Just beautiful! Thank you!
After several months of peanut offerings we finally got Blue Jays in the yard. But one is hammering on the roof hiding seeds.
Just had my first mourning warbler of the year today. Nice video 😃
I love your videos. Thank you so much for this peek into the babies’ lives!
You're welcome, I'm really happy that you enjoyed. Thanks for taking the time to watch and for the nice comment
Love the ugly necks of especially those young Jay's as it seems to me. I've noticed that years before I seen many of your videos
Thanks Lady Bird Nerd Girl.
What a pleasant video! Jays are adorable. I like Maggie’s but there are none here in Ohio. There are Jays though and Pigeons, Crows and Sparrows. Thank you. So enjoyable.
you are an artiste,, you are right where your passion soars, and i woulde guess you must be
a professional camers wrangler,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thank you for taking the time namaste
Oh Lesley, this is such a delightful video. The depth of your knowledge of the lives of the birds is astonishing and clearly helps you to know where and how to get such wonderful close up footage of them. I love them all and in this video it was lovely to see the sparrows. In UK there has been catastrophic reduction in their numbers. When I was a child they were the most common bird and our town garden was full of them. I haven't seen one in my now rural area for a long time. On a positive note our very colourful goldfinches have increased year on year. Thank you, too, for your lovely quiet and calm commentary. Your voice is very soothing and complimentary to the video images.
I find it amazing that you can tell the blue jays apart. I was trying to do it with the ones who come to my backyard with no success.
Thank you for your videos of all these beautiful birds, lovely creatures! May Jesus bless you and Jaime! He loves you both! May you and the bird live peacefully and have many days together this year!
Another great video. You have quite a talent. Thanks.
You are so incredibly beautiful! Thank you for the video, and thank you for the Jays!!!
Aww how sweet of you to say that. Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. Have a great weekend
