Thanks for all those darling birds doing their funny antics. Loved it! The other day (in July) I was at a park and there was a mound of dirt and pine tree debri behind where a circle of us were sitting. There were a lot of crows and their offspring trying to see if we had any food. Suddenly I heard a crow sounding distressed. When I turned around there was a juvenile crow layin on his back with his feet in the air in that mound of dirt and pine needles and an adult crow was poking him in the belly! It looked just like a tickle fest between a parent and toddler. The juvenile almost seemed to be laughing. They flew up into the trees above our heads while we laughed at their antics.
@@suejensen7730 Hahaha omg that is too adorable. I've never seen that before, it's awesome that you did.
I've always viewed the Blue Jay as an aggressive bully. They come pretty regularly. I'm trying to follow your leed.
I just heard some bluejay today ☝️
Where did you film this? I'm just curious cause we have a lot of Blue Jays in New Orleans but I seen the snow in the beginning part of your video
There's a red-tailed hawk in my neighborhood. When he's around ALL of the jays fly in from all over to mob him. Always makes me smile.
Another mobbing story.... once saw a mockingbird chasing a crow chasing a vulture.
We have a red-tailed hawk in our neighbourhood who I've named "Screamo" because he's constantly flying in circles around the area screaming. I've learned, though, that he's probably doing that to tell other hawks that this is his territory and to back off.
While I find him to be lovely and fascinating, the jays and starlings really don't like him. lol
In our community park there is a flock of nighthawks that always chase my RC planes.
I saw a red winged black bird get swooped by a hawk, I think a red-tail. Poor thing
@@moonbean657 those things are little pricks i wouldnt feel too bad XD only bird ive ever been attacked by. on several occasions LOL
@@akrobatish wdym LOL
I laughed SO HARD when you got to the sunning! That expression is hysterical!
2:59 OMG 😂😂
The look stoned asf
😂😂😂😂
@@Levi-he6nj That is exactly what I was thinking!!
My Jays' are really emotional and loud right now because of their molting and mating season. My poor babies!
Awh :( I hope they're feeling better by now!
Mine molt in late summer... talk about bad hair days!
I live in Australia and love birds! We have many, many odd, strange, funny birds here, eg kookaburras. Now I've heard of bluejays as in Toronto Bluejays but I have to admit this is the not only the first time I ever seen one but the first time I've seen how comical they are! They are truly wonderful. I can see why you're so enamoured with them. Thank you for the video.
almost every morning i hear them when i first get up it always puts a smile on my face... And they sure get chatty when you don't have their peanuts out there for them when they think you should lol!!
HAHAHA Soooo true!!!😆
When you showed the video of Blue mad at the crow for trying to take his hidden food, it was the first time in my life I'd seen a bird frown!! Like you said about smiling, they don't have the facial muscles for it but somehow they do it anyway. I've never seen my blue jays doing the sunning poses, but I hope to at some point. They were hilarious in the video!😂
Blue Jays around here have been called "camp robbers" ever since I can remember. I don't know why. I love the way you share your joy, thank you for sharing your beautiful heart. You are loved
i think u mean gray jays
I clearly remember one of them literally stealing a pancake from a hot frying pan while I was camping
@@silvanliu8168 exactly
this is also a nickname for Stellar's Jays 🐦
The term is broadly applied to the corvid family honestly. On the west coast of Canada people call magpies camp robbers because they are so abundant and will happy steal food if you turn your back on them.
Loved every minute! One day, I kept hearing what sounded like a duck outside my window. I peered out and there was blue jay quacking...it was the funniest thing.
They let the smaller birds what other larger and predatory birds are around.
Hahahahahah that's awesome!
Your videos never get old with me.
Thank you so much for your video. I'm a retired veteran disabled. I'm 62 years old. But I love to watch Birds. I have a bird feeder in my backyard. And I sit on my porch. And I smoke my tobacco pipe and watch the birds. And I got squirrels to. God bless you. Your friend Kirk.
Thanks so very much for everything! I hope that the birds provide you much enjoyment watching them :) Take care
@@LesleytheBirdNerd God bless you. Young lady. Your friend Kirk.
Never realized how hilariously cute they are. And glad you told us that bald jays aren’t sick, they’re actually molting🥰
That's exactly what I thought when I first saw one! Those heads remind me of vultures!
Yes, thanks for that info...one of my jays lost it's mate one evening in July and kept calling into the darkness and the rain for it, but it never came back...I heard a hawk screech within that same time-frame and wondered if it had nabbed the partner. Anyway, within a week or so the lone jay showed up w/o head feathers and I thought it was from the stress of losing its mate. Glad to know its molting and normal. That jay woke me every morning at dawn for at least a month calling for its mate. It was sad.
@@marylousherman5471 So sorry! that brought me to tears. They have such strong personalities, I never stopped to realize that have to deal with having their mate being taken by a hawk. I feel for you too😔
@@marylousherman5471 That IS sad! But I guess the Hawk has to eat. Nature really is something indeed
They look so zoned out when they're sunning themselves. I like the way they get ticked. They remind me of cats.
When that crow was sniffing around Blue's peanut!!!!!! One of my male Jays gets REALLY mad like that. It is the funniest thing ever : )
I thought that was one of the funniest parts. Blue was miffed! 😆
At 8 minutes into the video.😊
Years ago, we were sitting on the porch feeding the blue jays peanuts. The peanuts were in a plastic bag sitting on the floor near us. A blue jay flew down and grabbed the whole bag and tried to fly away with it. He made it about 50 feet before he lost it. We laughed so hard at his antic.
Seeing those babes sunning themselves was probably the cutest & most hilarious thing I've ever seen them doing! 😂 In Winter after a snowfall, I always enjoy seeing their little bird tracks on my porch leading up to the dry catfood I put out.
Love it! I just started feeding the birds in my garden. I live in Missouri. Today I cracked some English walnuts and hazelnuts. Blue jays found them instantly. I like the way blue jays take peanuts right from your hands. That will be my goal to achieve. Absolutely adorable.
From birds and squirrels to deer and horses and almost anything in between, you can always make a friend with food. It's truly a universal language.
First, you've made the right decision, my friend. I just found you here very recently and I truly look forward to watching. It's obvious to me your subs greatly admire you and you've left an imprint on your flock of viewers. 🥁
My dad instilled birding in me as a child, and now I'm sharing this with my young daughter. I suppose you're probably not reading comments anymore, and that makes sense, but Happy Happiness to you as you're taking a turn down another path. Life is full of these turns. Happy birding and enjoy! 🐦
Lesley, I'm with you - I just LOVE bluejays. I have a pair in my immediate vicinity, and they seem to act as the warning system for all the other birds (& critters) when danger is in the air. I also love cardinals and, although I do hear them around, I hardly ever see them. One day, I had a gift like no other. We have a large front window that faces the front deck. One day, I just happened to be walking by (in the house) and saw the cardinal. As I was doing the usual intake of breath I do when seeing one, about two feet from it (on the same deck rail) a bluejay landed! Holy cow, I couldn't take in enough breath!! But the funniest part was when, a couple of seconds later, they looked at each other and moved their heads in such a way as if to say, "Bruh, whas up?" They didn't seem threatened by each other in the least. Then they simply flew off in different directions. I felt like my brother and son were giving me that gift.
I feed the Jays in my neighborhood daily. My favorite is when they come to eat at my bird feeder and try the old cheeky hawk call to scare the other birds away so they can get their fill of seed. 😂😂😂
The wing flicking while taking peanuts from your hand. Its like the poor jay came to tell you about her rough day. Haha! Beautiful creatures!
Your coverage of Blue Jays have brought me great joy. I usually don't comment on your videos but watch them a lot and get a lot of my informative data from your postings. I have started putting peanuts out on a covered table feeding house. (I have tried to hand feed but I do have dogs and I know they won't come near with the dogs being so close...I am okay with that.) I now have Bluejays following me around the neighborhood. I will come out of a neighbor's house and they all do the "happy sound" and call out to each other that I am outside. There's every chance they might get some more peanuts if I'm outside (at least in their opinion). When I take the dogs outside for their first ball throw of the morning, I usually finish up filling the feeders and putting peanuts out for the Jays. So as soon as I come outside, they do the "happy sound" and the call echoes all over the neighborhood as they fly in from all points to my yard and do their typical Bluejay "Meep!" call. As if to say, "hurry up, what took you so long?!" You have given me so much joy sharing your insight to these guys and I too have garnered so much joy fostering a relationship with my local Bluejays. Thank you!
My favorite is the grass offering and the watching of the spouse steal the peanut and then having to check it out in dismay! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's like when you see the cookie package left out empty and you have to check to REALLY see that there's no more cookies left.😂
3:02 goofy sunbathers 😂🤣😂
I had a family of jays in my yard last summer (mom, dad and 5 babies) they had so much fun when I would water the garden. I use a hoop trellis for my cucumbers so they would land on it to drink and Preen. But it had a lot of spring to it so they’d land and then hold on for dear life while it bounced back and forth.
Hahahaha, I just snort laughed at Sweet Girl trying to get that last acorn!
I will sit in my backyard while having a cigar and throw peanuts on the lawn. The Blue Jays will come down from the tree and take them. What's funny is how territorial they are. I have a family of Blue Jays that live in the trees behind my house. There is also a family from across the creek behind my place that will come by. The Blue Jays that live in the trees behind my house get absolutely mad with the Blue Jays from across the creek if they come to take peanuts. The ones from behind my house can literally have a peanut in their mouth and if they spot the Blue Jay from across the creek trying to take a peanut, they will angrily chase them away, even though as mentioned they already have a peanut in their mouth. So funny!
A few years ago my husband spent almost a whole night fixing a bluejay birds nest one of our cats had sabotaged. We were rewarded with 5 very distinct bluejays sticking around . One very large bluejay even steals food straight from our very large roosters beak. Its hilarious the relationship a couple of our chickens have with the bluejays. Every day they interact. Love all the knowledge I've gleaned from your videos. I seldom say anything, but thank you. 🙏🏻
I love how it seems the Jay's here seem to pick up every peanut figuring out which ones are biggest then take two, three if they can get them.
Mine test fit nuts to see how many they fly off with.
The bigger the peanut the tastier
2:55 - Yes, I saw a turkey vulture sunning on the window ledge just across from my cubicle at an office. His wing's shadow on the floor was considerably odd.
Best of all, even though he saw me, he didn't care when I walked up to within a foot of him for a better look!
HAHA TuVus LOVE to sunbathe, so much that some people joke about them being solar-powered!
Wow Jays can be so silly sometimes! I’ve seen some funny things with the jays near me 😉.
I have blue jays in my yard, and I love them! One of the blue jays will flap their wings and caw at another blue jay, and they love to pluck acorns off of the oak tree!
Awesome video. Great work.❤
These guys are my absolute favourite backyard bird ! I spent over a year studying these guys and I fell in love with them very quickly. The other thing I love about them is how they will watch me when I talk to them.I had them eating from my hand after just a few weeks. Such a beautiful thing !! My favourite thing to see them do I think would be the sun bathing and the hoarding as many peanuts into its mouth at once and trying so hard to get more in .They certainly are comedians !! Thank you Lesley for another great video. Take care 😃🥜🥜🥜🐦💗💗
Sweet Girl flicking her wings while stuffing her beak full on your hand! I had to go back and watch it three times! Thanks so much for sharing your friendship with birds and your depth of knowledge about all the many different species you encounter in your woods.
I love Blue Jays and I just love these videos. How I envy you your relationships with these birds. My mom used to hang out laundry talking with the blue jays in the trees. She trained them to wait until she took laundry in before they could sit on the clothesline and sing. It was funny to watch them fight over nuts on the feeder with the squirrels. These videos are wonderful and I can't understand why people don't love these wonderful birds!
Thank you Leslie, I'm going to start the watercolors with Melinda Howard ! Really interesting how persisting a behavior my blue jay, sweet girl, has become for her daily peanuts. I'd like to try the liver pieces see what other Foods she will take as an offering for good health wealth and happiness. For just being closer to our natural world of free flyers feathered friends.
I have never heard the creaky gate call. Will have to listen for it! A family of Blue Jays live in the woods behind my house, so now I know what to listen for.
Mine have never made that call either- in all these years here- but they do have one that I have not heard Lesley's make! It's like a trumpeting "Tweedle DEE....." almost like a yodel! haha
The bluejays here in north central Ontario have a slightly different call, what I call the "cherinking" bluejay call, because that's what it sounds like they're saying: "Cherink! Cheriiiiiink!"
Regional dialects! lol (I'm in Texas)
@@lnghrnfn hahaha!
Great video as always. I might have been one of the people who called it "leap-frog," after seeing five or six Steller's Jays on our deck, "playing," a few years ago. For a few minutes they hopped over the top of each other time after time, just like little kids playing leap frog. I only saw it happen once and I sure wish I'd had a mobile phone up and running to get video of it. It was hilarious. The jays are mostly gone from the neighborhood now due to some major clearcutting of trees (the crows took over). Before then there were a lot of jays and we got to see plenty of antics, including this one: They had us trained. A jay would light on a skylight when they saw us in the house. He or she would peck once on the glass-hard. That was the signal: "Give me a peanut now." We always did, and the next generation of jays learned it from their parents. Then came the clearcutting and we don't see them often. It was fun while it lasted.
The dive bombing of the squirrel 🤣 My dog would love to be able to do that.
This was absolutely delightful! They are so interesting, beautiful, and adorable. Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow im jusy finding your channel and im already learning soo much. The funny compilation was awesome. Thanks for having such thorough information to help me learn more about backyard birds
I watched this a few months ago and it inspired me to hang a tray of peanuts from my bedroom window each morning. I sip my coffee in bed and watch the show! I will now pay more attention to the different features/characteristics. Also how hilarious are those sunbathers?? That bald dude! hahaaa Thanks for the fantastic footage Lesley!
You are so blessed to live in a place with these sweet funny birdies! How funny! They look like my cat when he is in funny positions passed out! I never would’ve believed birds would be so silly, sunnying like they are at the Riviera!
Sweet girl flickering and whining as she took food from your hand, such moody little birds! It's adorable.
Thank you for sharing this delightful assortment of jay behaviors. They are such dear, intelligent birds and my favorites along with crows. One of my favorite sights and sounds in the world is a blue jay begging for food! It’s fun to watch them as they’re solving problems etc because you can just see the wheels turning.
Perfect timing Miss.Leslie. Blue jays are my favorite birds on our feeders. Well, I love them all. Thank for sharing
Delightful presentation! 🙂 Plenty of Bluejays here. Their variety of vocalizations are impressive. i've heard them meow, bark, gargle, click, flute, and screech, according to the situations.
Several days ago, while i was feeding the birds (and other forest creatures) one of the Bluejays made that familiar warning call. All of the birds and other creatures darted into the thick woods. Sure enough, a Kestrel swooped past me. After about 10 minutes, everyone returned and the peanut party resumed, lol.
One of my favorite bird memories was of a sweet little hummingbird flying back and forth way up high in a tree whilst we were doing irrigation. It was like, "What should i do? There are people down there! Are they friendly? Should i go closer?" (That's what i imagine it would say if hummingbirds could talk). It was the cutest thing. Adorable! 💕🐤
Another time, i saw a Chickadee flying around my yard and landed on a tree. I was surprised at how small it was. I was thinking, 'It must be a new fledgling! Too cute!' ❤️🐦
And Melinda's painting was AMAZING!!! Simply gorgeous!!! Thank you for sharing that as well.
I also find them funny, this was a great video and I totally know what you mean! I sometimes laugh at things that aren’t even funny, like, I laughed at a video the other day of a bluejay just trotting along ( I think in this instance I laugh because of the cuteness ) it was just so funny to me how they were hopping along looking so serious, and the way the bluejay just all of the sudden flew into the view of the camera, like he wasn’t there and then all of the sudden he just appears and started hopping. This video definitely made me laugh it was extremely adorable 🥰
CenturianEagle Yes. Between blue jays and robins hopping, freezing, and cocking their head to look for worms, their hopping is so funny, as well as adorable.
BriannaBird Davis haha so true! I left a comment on some other video recently where someone mentioned robins, and I said that robins are so cute especially when they’re chubby and hopping around with a worm in their beak 😆🥰🥰 I really love cardinals though. They’re my favourite, I’ve been feeding the same male and female for 3 1/2 years now, the male makes me laugh so hard he looks so cute and his singing is so funny, yet he’ll sing this funny and innocent song with the most serious look on his face- I really end up cracking up though when it’s really windy and he’ll be on the very tip top of my tree in my backyard and he’ll look like he’s hanging on for dear life but still continuing to sing, while his adorable pointy hairdo is blowing around 😆🥰🥰 I love that guy 🥰, he’s why I got into birds. Sorry for the long comment btw, I just get carried away when i start talking about my cardinal buddy
CenturianEagle Oh, it’s okay. I loved listening to your story of your cardinal buddy and how he got you interested in birds. My favorite bird is the cardinal, too. I think seeing flocks of starlings as I walked toward the entrance of my high school was what got me into birds. Seeing their glossy plumage and listening to them make these weird sounds got me hooked for some reason, and the rest was history.
BriannaBird Davis thank you! I could totally see that being the spark/introduction into being interested in birds, they flock near my moms work when I was driving her there a month or two ago, and their plumage looks so cool, they’re really adorable when they’re feeding their fledglings. The fledglings fluff their wings while begging and making some crazy sounds haha. The adults make some very interesting sounds too like you were saying. Did you know they can talk !? I saw a dodo video where someone raised one and it couldn’t be safely released, so she kept it, and it mimicked her speech just like parries dio
CenturianEagle Yeah, I knew they could talk. So cute! I also love their murmurations. I’m still wondering how they could do those intricate flight patterns without hitting each other.
I love the frog hop. There's so many funny Blue Jay's antics! My budgies love having your channel on my TV when I'm gone. I think they just love hearing and watching other birds. My favorite part was Blue and the Gray jay on your arm!💙
Thank you.Ihave never seen such behavior in my encounters with these birds over the years.Amazing.Such personalities.
I heard a funny noise outside just now and went to look out the window, and lo and behold, I finally got to see a male blue jay making the squeaky gate call. So funny and cute! I love them! And I love your videos, Lesley! They cheer me up so much.
I think sunning birds are hilarious! My brown thrashers do it the most. -- These are adorable! Thanks for sharing!
So happy to find another crazy bird lady who loves those jays! Watching them just never gets old😍
I love blue Jay's also. I find them very interesting and comical. Thank you for your videos. You do a wonderful job.
I live in Big Horn County Wyoming and I've just seen a couple of Blue Jays feeding at my big feeder in the morning. They are so beautiful. You are so blessed to get that close to them and can hand feed them!! Thanks for sharing!!
it never ceases to amaze me how incredibly beautiful these birds are. I wish we had them here in Southern California! We do have plenty of scrub Jays, and one funny thing Ive noticed them do is when I give them peanuts, and they cant carry two, they literally pick one up, drop it, then go to another, pick it up, drop it, and sometimes even a third- and finally, selecting the one that has the most weight to it. These guys are super smart! ❤🐦😊
Amazing. The quality of footage and how close you're able to get to them is outstanding. I remember seeing a bird completely spread out in the grass a couple months back and I now understand that bird was sunning!
In our back yard the blue jay is a close second to the hummingbird but we have our hands all year
Wonderful vidios you are our favorite bird teacher Lady
Thanks
I loved seeing them sunning. I didn't know they did that. Really enjoyed the video.
Oh Beautiful blue Jays ! Pretty Amazing Birds🌹oh I Love Birds 🌹Great video!
Pretty amazing that you get them to land on your hand and then eat out of your hand Blue Jays usually very shy and standoffish
Lesley, it's winter here in southern Maine now, and I wanted to report another cute jay behavior! (Well, it's a survival technique for them, I guess.) We recently got 2 feet of fluffy snow. I noticed that when my backyard jays came down to get their peanuts, they spread out their wings before landing so they didn't go "poof" down to the ground! It's like when you don't want to plunge underwater when you jump in a lake, so you spread out your arms and legs. I thought it was so smart! :) Thanks, I love your videos so much.
♥️😘♥️Thank you♥️😘♥️ I live in Southern Calif, but I was raised in Berkeley, Ca where we had many Blue Jay's. Here none. But, with great love and care I feed Crows that began merely as 5 Crows, and eventually became over 30 Crows. I love them.♥️😘♥️Thank you♥️😘♥️ Plus, I separately feed Mourning Doves, I love them all♥️😘♥️
Your videos are a joy always! Thank you for them!
Fully agree with you
Enjoyed the video Lesley. Jays are really funny amazing birds. Thanks for sharing your memorable bird moments. Take care stay well and God bless.
Thank you, and same to you!
The sunning!! That's crazy how comfortable they must be around you to do that. Besides being amused at their poses, I'm genuinly impressed.
I love this compilation, Lesley. You have a great eye for behaviors! My fave in this series was the jays sunning themselves. With lolling heads and sprawling wings and bodies, they look like passed-out old drunks.
Wonderful they can relax so! ⛅🌟💥🌅
My faves are Stellar's Jays. Gorgeous, elegant and have the nastiest mouths in 12 counties. Love 'em!
Lesley this is so wonderful!! I have so many favorites in this video, it's hard to pick one- but being able to see them so close and take food from your hand is so amazing and seeing them all- I have always loved all birds, but the brilliant blue coloration of their feathers is so breathtaking! Being able to see them and hear them is so wonderful❤ thank you so much!😊🙏
We enjoy your videos, and so do our Grandchildren. Four or five years ago we would have a couple Blue Jays visit in the fall, squawking "feed me, feed me" so we gave them peanuts. In the spring they were back so we started hiding peanuts on our covered deck outside our kitchen patio doors. If we did not hide them then a small flock of Magpies would raid the deck. The pair knew all the hiding places. Then one day they brought the kids. Five young were here twice a day all summer. Mom and Dad would visit to check in on them about once a week. Over fall and winter the seven were here together most every day to find peanuts and drink from our heated pet bowl. Next spring there were 3 more chicks, 10 daily.
The Blue Jays in my area (Upstate New York) have different markings than yours, and I’ve never seen them bobbing up and down like yours do...a “trampoline dance”? Such wonderful videos you have to share. This one brought back memories of watching a gray squirrel and a blue jay, spying on each other hiding their “loot” from the feeders...and then steal from each other. I would sit in the window and watch all this, laughing. Such good entertainment - better than television! Thank you for sharing!
I love these blue jays. Thing I liked best was when they sort of do a jump then the sound of a spring. Made me laugh. Thanks Lesley, you're videos are the best. I do a bit of watercolouring, so will have to check out your friends site.
I am REALLY enjoying your videos! Ive shared it with my 35 yr old daughter too, she learned the love of bird watching from me. Now we do it together! Her favorite bird is the King fisher! She grew up on out farm and we had a creek on the property. That is where she learned to love them!
Of all of the songbirds that I have raised and released over the years, Blue Jays are always my favorite. Thank you Lesley❣
I absolutely love blue Jay's, these videos are so awesome to watch. Thank you for posting them. They are so full of personality
I now have the blue Jay's coming to my front door every day to squawk for peanuts. They bring lots of joy!🐦
“Sunning” - Hahahhhahahah! Cutest Thing Ever !
Since I started feeding my local Bluejays, I am in love with them. They scream at me when I come outside to feed them. They are my favorite bird- so much personality!
Sooo adorable and hilarious! Your baldy sunner...too much! Lol!I have a Crow friend I've named Buster who hangs around w me and will sun fairly close to me.
Simply precious.
Thankyou for your always uplifting work, Lesley!🐦💙
I love my Bluejays. They are fascinating to watch. In particular I love the way they work as a team. They provide a warning system for predators in the area. Whenever I hear my jays sounding the alarm call, I know a hawk is in the area. I can see them all flitting from tree to tree squawking and surrounding the enemy. I've witnessed several times when the hawk gave up and flew away with four or more Jays hot on their tail, screeching at him as they chase him away. It is quite impressive!
Lesley you are the bird whisperer! I am completely fascinated at the videos you have of your loving friends, and also completely jealous! I can't thank you enough for enlightening me on these beautiful birds habits and characteristics. I've been seeing blue feathers on the ground lately, and it sounds since it's August, they are molting. I enjoyed this so much!!
LESLIE, YOU ARE AWESOME!!! GREAT FOOTAGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE JAYS I LOVE THEM ALSO. THANKYOU.
I really enjoyed watching the Jay's habits ☺ they are so funny 😆. The painting was amazing 👏.
This was so adorable 🥰 We don’t have Blue Jay’s in Norway, so it is fun to watch videos with them- they are so beautiful 👌😍
@Ms. Buschhorn oh yes we do, they are so pretty 😊
I just discovered your channel, and I'm so glad I did. My blue Jays have been enjoying the extras I put out for them when I'm loading up my squirrel feeder. But now that I know what to look for in identifying my Jays (thanks so much) I will be focusing more on these daily visitors. You've really made them come alive for me. Thanks again.
You are amazing with your bird friends!👏✨💚✨
You are a Disney Princess. Confirmed.
When I was younger, I found birds that fell from the nest all the time. The funniest was a magpie. When my aunt was eating soup and turned away for a sec, the magpie stole her spoon xD And when I put her to sleep on a makeshift nest, she always came down and cuddled to my neck when I was sleeping, so I always woke up with her sleeping next to me.
Very cool story.
I love blue jays they have such personality it was so amazing watching them and how u interact with the them wat a beautiful watercolor pic 😍she did a great job 🐦💙🐦
Thanks for sharing! They are beautiful and funny little birds.
I love your videos of jays, I love them too, my yard is full of them and cardinals. I love bird watching. Happy Birding❤️
I really appreciate your film!So nice to know that someone else loves them as much as I do! I have lived here in the north country for 10 years. I have one that wakes me up in the morning like a rooster. Yet he also let's us know when to chase away the squirrels!
Your videos are so eye-opening! I had no idea birds have such similar social lives as humans! My favorite part of this particular episode is the rejection of the piece of grass. That was really hilarious!
Priceless😉, U R The BluJayLady☺️ Saw my first barn owl this morning, pre dawn, unforgettable😁
I have a red-tailed hawk in my area and I know when its around because the 7 blue jays that I feed will chase it away. They have also become very good at imitating the hawk's calls which they like to constantly do. I enjoy watching them after I feed them every morning. I have never seen, nor was I aware of, the sunning behavior. Wonderful footage of the three of them! I hope that someday I will get to witness it myself.
I love your accent 🥰
I’m a big bird lover too, my favorite is the Cardinal and hummingbird
Thank you for this beautiful video, I really enjoyed this 💙💙💙
Blue jays bobbing up and down when calling in general and hopping on the ground are iconic in itself. I also love it when they stuff themselves with peanuts and how they look pecking at a nut while holding it in place between their feet. Also, I have seen mourning doves sunning while under the sprinklers in my backyard in real life, but never blue jays. Great video as always, Lesley!
I can relate to being annoyed when people invade your space ... I'll have to try wing-flickering sometime ;)
