  • There are around 753 crores people living on planet earth. Each individual will create at least one waste every day. You could imagine the amount of waste created every minute. But what happens when we litter? Where does all the waste go?
    Wastes are segregated into two types- biodegradable and nonbiodegradable.
    Biodegradable wastes are wastes which can be broken down by microorganisms and other living things. It is easily decomposed and nourishes the soil. Examples of biodegradable wastes include- paper, plant or animals wastes, manure etc.
    Whereas nonbiodegradable wastes are wastes which neither breaks down nor degrades. They keep on piling up and eventually cause pollution. One such example is plastics.
