Rough edges or not, I feel like it's something that will get better with time. Especially with Android version updates and hardware implementations such as Ultra Wide Band
Agreed, UWB will be a big improvement. Also I wish they would adopt Apple's on/off setting, If you want to enjoy finding your own device you should be required to help others. Maybe the first time I think Google went too far into privacy settings
Thanks for the update! Both were great videos. My Pixel Buds Pro and my Sony MX4 headphones both already register with the Android Find My network.
Hahaha i have exactly as you both earbuds and both are in the Find My App in. It works.
Announcements of Moto's trackers were released, and they feature Ultra Wide Band. I think that will be the one I get.

TY TY TY for instructions to remove devices using the webpage on a PC. I had a Pixel 4 stuck in devices and had tried every other tip and trick to remove it I could find on the Internet with no luck. This is the first time I've seen anything about using the Playstore webpage. Finally gone!
I got the Chipolo trackers last week. 15 minutes after coming home from the shop, it was showing my "wallet" as "nearby" but also with the map location of the shopping centre about 2 miles away. I will have to do more testing to figure out if it thought I was still at that location too, or if "nearby" uses just Bluetooth and ignores phone location, but I suspect it is the latter.
has your nearby tracking worked very well? Just got my tracker today and mine seems very hit or miss
@@BBTechBreakdown the radius is quite large. I hope this is down to most devices not being on the network yet and will get better eventually.
I've heard that people have had better experience with Pebblebee trackers. I'm planning to order them and see how well my experience is.

I could be wrong but I don't think Google tags can be crowsource tracked via nearby iPhones and vice versa. The only thing they cooperated on is the privacy issue to prevent these things from being inappropriately used to track people without their consent. So Apple and Android phones can detect nearby tags of both types and report them to the owner of the phone, but they won't report the tags location to each others network.
My Pixel buds pro work just fine with the Find My Device network.
I lost one of my pro buds last week and when I went to use te find their last location they don't even appear on the device list.
i bought the Chipolo, and it doesn't work with Google Find My Network.
I tested it for a few days. I did hid the tag in a very crowded shoppingmall. Not even once did the location update.
For now i have to stick to Samsung Smart tag2.
My Pixel Buds, show up in the dock, but I also have the same bug of not being mapped.
My Buds Pro also disappeared. I haven't tried to reset them yet. I also have a problem with them connecting to my phone when the case is closed while in my pocket. Draining the battery and if I'm playing something on a different device it'll switch to the buds Pro.
Both are very recent issues though
Waiting for pebblebee preorder, can't wait to test. Do youtubers get them faster? Tried to reach support and still waiting for response...

Shane, question for you. I want to purchase the pebble but on its own website as you said its coming soon, however on amazon its in stock and to be shipped and its called Gen 2. Is this the same one you rewired or is it a Gen 3 aka coming soon on their website . Trying to figure out if its the same model version

My Pixel Buds Pro seem to be working just fine. So, I guess they're not all affected by the problem you're seeing.
I agree that this is a typical Google launch that takes forever and then still isn't ready when it finally happens.
I'm cautiously optimistic that most of the issues will still get fixed. Nearby Share was an unreliable mess at first, now I use it to send multi-GB files between my phone and Chromebook all the time. It's fast and it never fails me.
Are your pixel buds pro updated to work with the new network or are they just using the most recent location of your phone when connected to it?
I feel you about the -Nearby share- Quick share and now it's awesome.

@@DaveSteinberg I think if they were in the network they would have the "Find Nearby" Option if you are nearby.
Also, I do remember articles mentioning they will eventually be supported but Androids website still doesn't have them listed as compatible with new network. It only has 3 other headphones (one sony and 2 JBL)

Pixel buds a series showing them at the last place I used them about an hour ago. Are the a series buds not getting the offline location tracking?
I have pixel buds a and will usually show it's in the home 8 out of 10 times. Home devices have not located then. Funny my jlabs mini show better location then the pixel buds a.
I have no problem to see my Pixel Buds A location (I mean the map is showing the last position where they were connected to my phone). I use a Pixel 6 Pro that runs Android 15 Beta 4.
Same issue here where my devices are not showing up My watch I can have it on my wrist! But my pixel is on the beta program
Watching this video with my Pixel Buds Pro. They have never shown location in the Find My app, and even right now when I just checked, with the buds in my ears and connected to my phone, it's not showing the location.
My Sony earbuds, on the other hand, are showing my home location and that I connected to them yesterday.

I have an issue that the app is not displaying my Pixel Watch 2 location that is connected to the my Pixel 8 Pro. So, definitely, the network has flaws.
I may have spoke too soon. Ironically, just received an update on my Watch and now I can see its location in the app.

Samsung user here my buds 2 pro findable 😂
Looks like Galaxy Buds are forced to use Samsung asmartfind only and not included. All my samsung phones (s20 Ultra/Fold 4) show up fine...even my old LG v30 is listed. Hopefully they add Galaxy buds too eventually.

It did seem to only move when I got really close. That said, I can hear it being from pretty far, so I'm not too bothered by it.

I've not looked into their trackers, but if they "don't work," but the Pebblebee ones I have clearly do, how is that Google's fault and not the fault of the company that made them?
