The best/worst part of watching this live back in the day was Tyler insisting on deciphering how a rotary phone works as if it was part of the puzzle
59:02 Horror games be like "turn down the brightness until you can't see this bar" and then pull this shit
question: "tell me how old a video is without telling me how old it is"
answer: "twitch removed pogchamp"
There are probably people who are on twitch 24/7 nowadays who don't know what the original Pogchamp looked like. Think about that.
please stop, don't make me feel so old
I was on twitch when the original was there and don’t remember what it looked like
1:45:43 I immediately thought "if you go in there without finishing everything first, you're going to get locked into a bad ending."
Same haha
The room 3 is one of my favorite puzzle games ever. It takes the mechanics from the previous game and introduces them simply, but slowly ramps the difficulty up in a way that means you don’t have to play the previous games in order to mostly understand what’s happening
Also the spinny triangles are funny
@@Mjowjssheehee spinnny
I didn't fully read your messages but i agree Spinny triangles are funny
@@axeltheinternetsweeper8082 I respect that
I did fully read your comment, and I fully agree with what you’re saying. Amazing game
My favorite thing about the Room series is how it introduces puzzles in a way that lets you see the entire puzzle from the start, yet manages to avoid overwhelming you with how much there is going on. It leads to the player poking and tinkering with everything there is to see, letting these things get ingrained in your memory, so that when you do get that object you need to progress it cascades into solving 3, 4, or even 5 puzzles in a row, because you immediately know where to bring each new item or piece of information. This is the true secret to what makes the Room series so satisfying, the complex machinery and arcane story is just the cherry on top.
1:20:00 Hey Tyler, that wax cylinder is the older form of a record. I believe it was Edison that invented that particular type. The cylinders would later be replaced with large discs which were eventually made from vinyl.
15:08 “twitch removed pogchamp” if that doesn’t tell you how old this is then I don’t know what would.
The "male sumbol" is knoen as "The Arrow of Mars", referring, originally to the Roman god, of course. Similarly, the "female symbol" is "The Mirror of Venus". Both were used back in the day to represent the respective planets as well.
As many probably caught on, the simbols on the maze were for the zodiac signs of Scorpio, Libra and Pisces
1:16:40 - well, you did ask for a square peg in a round hole :D
5:40 _[Game of Thrones theme starts playing]_
The room 3 definitely a step up from its predecessor, both in term of puzzle complexity and exploration. Definitely my 2nd favorite game in the franchise.
Though the walking animation between each room definitely a hassle when trying to solve the overworld puzzle. Thankfully, The Room 4 addressed that problem and built on The Room 3 to make a perfect experience.
I thought the room 4 was a step backwards honestly, it felt dumbed down/too simplified in comparison to 3
So for the 4d rubik's cube, I do have some info for those curious, but I don't know all the rules or anything. Obviously, no, it's not actually 4d, but it's a 3d object which you're allowed to manipulate in ways other than just rotation which mimics a 4d cube functionally. Like I said I didn't recall all the ways that you're allowed to manipulate it. The first image the editor showed during this segment was the 2x2x2x2 rubik's cube
Edit: Rowan Fortier's video "The Quest to Build a 4D Rubik's Cube" is quite good if I remember correctly
The difference between a maze and a laberynth is that a maze has a solution.
A Maze have branching paths, while a labyrinth is a single long winding path without branches.
what??
Mazes are fun. A labyrinth is built to keep something *in*
7:15 hilarious Disturbed reference

BRO THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING xD
This game series is the best I played on mobile, takes great advantage of how tactile the control of a touchscreen is.
Now I see why these videos take so long to edit. The editing is great
4:50 frequency is the time between the same point, or the number of same points in a set time (number of peaks per second). Wavelength is the distance between the same points (distance peak to peak). Amplitude is the height of the wave from peak to valley, basically the volume or strength.
After you finish this series (There is one more game - "Old Sins"), You should try The House of Da Vinci, it is fairly similar in concept and a lot of fun.
Another great mobile puzzle game that is a different concept is "Tiny Room Stories Town Mystery"
Another game of this type I can recommend is Boxes: Lost Fragments
These are re-edited from streams, he's already played both "The Room: Old Sins" and "The Room: A Dark Matter".
the house of davinchi is great
I've actually played through the whole series twice. It's just so well done, and such a great escape. It's so fun watching you play through, because you're way smarter with puzzles than I am. You make it really look easy.
6:01 I want this table
I love the room series and I’m so happy it’s a long vid
That phone puzzle was how people back then would pirate their friend's music.
I feel like watching a whole VOD instead of a video watching this
That was so cool! I don’t believe I could have done it myself but riding along for the journey was incredible. Thanks for the always incredible content.
Oh god, I remember this one being long as heck. Good luck, Tyler!
I've played this game like at least 10 times
Well this is cool… I can’t describe how, it’s just *_VERY_* cool, so cool I’m at a loss of words
Young Tyler, so innocent
At 49:24 and you already got three of the five
At this rate, something is going to go horribly wrong when you put them all in
1:22:14 it’s getting spicy
Wow, got here at the prefect time!
And the video is doubled the length of room 2, I’m grabbing popcorn for this movie
I really loved it! Thank you for playing. One more left...
I would laugh my ass off if by the end of the series you have an eyepiece that just goes like 7 feet out from all the addons.
Did you know that The Room VR exists?
He's done a video on it already, but has since decided not to record any further vr games due to not knowing how to set them up for recording.

Oh, I wasn’t aware. Thanks for letting me know!
Been hyped for this so hard since room 1 dropped, eating good tonight.

imagine how easy this would be with a lockpicking lawer to call your own
I loved this game series
I need one of these rooms in my house, so much extra storage space in the non Euclidian geometry
The Room is one of the most criminally underrated game series of all time. A lot of people point out that the graphics are kinda eh and that the controls are funky for PC, requiring a lot of repeated mouse movement, but keep in mind that these games were designed first and foremost as *mobile games* which puts into perspective just how innovative and ahead of its time these games truly were. The controls felt GREAT on mobile, and the games themselves? As close to perfection as anything from this era.
1:55:12
holy shit is that supposed to be Maggy Cox from the letter???
is that the prison that was built for her?
thats fucking wild
So many of these mechanisms could just be intercepted midway through.
Amazing video, u r great. Keep being you, keep it simple
LETSSS GOOOO ROOM 3!!!!!!!
fish fillets 2 is a really good game! it's just also. an Experience. you have to be prepared for it before you get in there and you WILL struggle a LOT with the puzzles. abrasive but really good game despite that. like drinking vineger and salt
39:32 reminds me of monument valley
actual my favourite game!
Btw about Minecraft, have you ever thought about tech modpacks like create or Gregtech?
YOu called that slicked back thats PUSHED back
They should rename this series to the rooms.

So who’s telling Tyler theres a 4th dimensional Rubiks Cube online?
That doesn't likely seem like his kinda channel game
@@zackbuildit88 true but imagine how funny it would be to watch him try to solve it with no guidance. Or how impressive it would be if he actually did do it with no guidance 👀.

VERY FEW KNOW HOW ROTARY PHONES WORK. dear gods, am I really that old 😅😅😅
When you don't have the guts or intelligence to play the game yourself but you're bored:
Play it. Stop watching now and play it. The room games are all awesome, and despite being puzzle games, rarely go above a 6/10 on the difficulty scale (and I'd say it averages about a 3.5-4 overall). Not only that, the hint system is very good, rather than outright telling you the solution it tells you first where you need to look, then hints at ways you can interact with what's there, then clues you in on the goal, before finally telling you the answer, all while letting you take the hints at your own pace. ANYONE can play the room games and have a good time.
9:10 I don't know, Tyler, have you heard, by any chance, about Islands of Insight?
It is a pretty decent game, you may like it 🙃
There’s a livestream of it on his channel.

Hi Tyler❤️
i hate puzzle games, because every time i think i would be able to do some of these faster/diffirent/better, but every puzzle game i already have ruined because i see u play it first lmao
Hello
30:32 :')
The contrast between your camera and gameplay is almost painful to look at. Specifically, too bright versus too dark. Otherwise, being able to hear you clearly with the game sound is awesome. Also, I love the humor implied through editing.

Oh come on... 3 stairs is easy
Never could get into the Room games. It just seemed like "click on stuff and stuff happened" with every little actual thought involved.
Tyler had a brief mention of this, saying his favorite puzzles in the series were like the addition/multiplication one where thought WAS involved.
I really enjoy watching your videos, but I would like to see you play some two player Puzzle games . There’s a lot of good ones out there. Some examples are the “we were here” serious or “the past within”. Just so you know the examples I gave you are a little on the creepier side. But it would be cool if you do this on live. I think you’ll be fun.
He'll probably get through "the past within" later, as he's going through the Rusty Lake series in release order right now.
Too bad it never released on switch.
It should have been 2 minutes to midnight not 4 minutes to midnight :(
Bring back the beard
you took SOOO long to get to this, Love watching you solve these games. also I am kind of annoyed and amused, If I understand correctly you do not know how most Bic lighters works, must be magic. The forge is basically just a big lighter. turn the wheel against the flint to make a spark. why would you put the flint inside the wheel you are meant to grind it against.
