I'm 37, and I was used to wearing business casual because I work in an office. Now, since I work from home because I have to take care of my little daughter who has a disability I find fashion in comfortable clothing. So shorts during the summer, sweatpants and mostly printed t-shirts and nice sneakers. So fashion depends on what you do, the important thing is to have a good eye about it, iron your clothing, shower and shave and you're going to stand out! Cheers
I’m glad that post-COVID, a lot of offices have eased on the strictly business attire. While I wouldn’t wear boxy, oversized streetwear to the office, I can get away with tailored jeans or chinos, sneakers, and a nice t-shirt to match. Best of both worlds 🤝
The thing is, a lot of people base what an older person should dress like, on what older people were wearing when they were younger. But fashion evolves at all age groups. People mistakenly think fashion only evolves for people in their 20s and below. I didn't dress like my father in my 20s as he did when he was in his 20s, so why would I dress like him in my 30s and 40s? Our idea of "grown man look" is based on how our fathers dressed. Of course people will carry aspects of their style throughout life and its going to be completely different than the generation before us.
This is true, and I have always gone with this. I always wear what I like, and dress for the job I want, not necessarily the job I'm going to get. I own soo many pairs of dress shoes and such, and usually use em for events or business type stuff. But once I'm in, I know how to do my business casual.
Facts, im 32 i still dress streatwear style and to be honest i cant imagine ever wearing business casual, suits etc.. even when im an old man at least i will have air monarch and a nike sweatsuit
I recently downsized like 40% of my closet, invariably gets redundant after a point. Your 30’s is an amalgamation of comfort/essentials/signature style.
Glad someone has the same opinions as i am..we millennial grown up with streetwear..it hard to let it go...not that we dont grow up,it just how we dress make us feel confident...thanks bro..
I’m in my mid 30s and my colleagues have seen me in business casual attire for the last 2 years. They recently saw me in in a t-shirt and basketball shorts since I’m in a league that takes place after work. They all commented on how much younger I looked . I’ll stick to my urban wear anytime I can
Bro your style is cool asf. Ive seen some guys on their own channels try to show us how to dress once you hit a certain age and they’re straight trying to turn us into a whole new person and honestly they look like squares. I say wear what you feel comfortable in no mater ones age.
“Breaking the mold” couldn’t agree with you more Eddie , I’m in my 60’s and my go to’s are “street wear” and “business casual” and feel great doing it. Keep up the excellent content Bro…
This is why Eddie's GOLD! This video reminded me of one of Ethan Wong's blog posting, completely different personal style, but same "occasion" attitude.
Spot on again my man!. We all have seen the 'how to dress' guys in RUclips. Some are pretty good. Others speak in absolutes, and almost always look ridiculous. I started a new job and it was far closer to casual than business casual, but I had money invested in some nicer pants and Oxfords. I stick out, but I don't care. Being able to take someone picking on you is exceptionally liberating. Wear whatever you like, as long as it could not be deemed inappropriate by most at the event
Definitely spot on with this one. Society created this box that when you hit your 30’s all the cool dressing is over lol, that is far from true. Just elevate your fit depending on the occasion.
Great video! Iv been watching men's styling content lately and I felt like either it was younger guys dressing in all the hype stuff and really out there trends or guys my age that dress really pretty "old money" that just isn't my style I feel like I'm stuck somewhere in the middle but most days I just want to be comfortable but still be confident.
Good Video, my tipp, that i would give is to think, what image you want to present that day ☝🏼 Also never underestimate the power of great pants. You could where the most beat shoe with a plain shirt and still look fuego 🔥
Think we have a similar mindset. I'm cognisant of my age but I try to balance staying true to myself against the occasion or situation. I'm still not big on formal suits and sneakers but I fuck with the vibe for more or less all other fits
❤ This content! The best dressed people are that way because they are confident in what they are wearing and they know what looks good on them. I witness far too many people who merely follow trends or dress a certain way because they have been told to do so. Absolutely, dress for the occasion, if ever in doubt, smarten up and you won't go to far wrong. One piece of additional advice, wear your actual size. Oversized pieces and styles are great but wear your actual size in that garment. It'll wear better and give you the look you're after.
It's important to have great occasional clothing and at least ONE suit.... If you're not going to own one, at least rent a fitted one. There's nothing wrong with streetwear, but you definitely want grown folk menswear apparel to diversify yourself. And fellas... That means leather shoes... Not just sneakers with trousers.
More 🔥 content Eddie. Appreciate you and your time. I’m 43 and my style has definitely evolved since my 20s but I’m old enough to remember those 90s trends and fashions that are popular today. When I’m in the office I usually go for a button down oxford shirt or a long sleeve polo shirt with a nice smart casual pair of khaki pants paired with dunks, Jordan 1 lows or Air Max 1s. This kind of fit is smart enough for meetings and gives that grown man look, that confidence and professionalism while still being comfortable and casual for me to wear all day. In my free time my style is more casual. Streetwear, sweatshirts, cargo pants, Jordan 3s, windbreakers, hoodies, long sleeve tees. I want my style to have a different twist and flavour when I’m in the office vs my free time. Keep up the awesome work Eddie. Big love from the U.K. 👊🏻
I agree I'm 41 and I tell myself as long as I'm not dressed as a teenager or an older person I'm good. I feel like as long as it's my style and I feel comfortable well that's all that matters. You have to own your own style and swag. I will also say when you look good you feel good.
I’m 38, I stick to Banana Republic primarily. I don’t wear anything too trendy and typically wear basic clothing (polo shirts, denim shirts, slim fit pants, Schott jackets, overcoats, Levi truckers. -timeless pieces). Moreover, with sneakers, I stick with the versatile classics (AF1, chucks, blazers, dunk low, AJ1, AM1). The most important aspect of style, in my opinion, is having confidence is what you’re wearing.
great advice. I work in an office. I wear sweaters, polos, khakis with some cool sneakers even when I have to entertain clients. its all about how you wear your items
I did a video like this. I’d say just tone it down a bit. You may not wear as many bright colors. If you do, I’d say make the outfit toned down. For example, I’d wear a plain tee or sweater/sweatshirt, plain jeans and colorful sneakers. If I do wear multi colored fit, I’ll just wear all white kicks. Stuff like that
Yo thank you for this video I’ve been wanting to step up my clothing for my age at mid 30. I like to think mainline fear of god would fit this sophisticated business casual look but still keep the street look. Your opinion?
I'm short, vintage tracksuits are pretty much impossible for me to get. The pants are too long🥸 My shortness has a tiny benefit, I look way younger than I actually am. I work from home, nobody cares what I wear during work. I could work naked if I wanted to. I just like to wear fun things for myself.
I agree! all these Jose zunigas type dudes are annoying lol I definitely do follow their grooming tips but I’m not ganna be dressing in fucking slacks and tucked in dress shirts every day 🤦♂️ lol I just turned 30 and still dress street and only save the dressy looks for special occasions
I’m 22 ( Still young I know ) and I usually wear simple streetwear ( your type of streetwear, not the new streetwear with baggy jeans, vintage bootleg tshirts and vintage burn out nikes) but I also follow the dress for the occasion type of style I have a car insurance office in my hometown and I also just finished my bachelor for Diagnostic Radiology so I have a rule that I follow : I never wear cargos/ distressing / shorts or tracksuits and sweats during my work time or uni time When I go out if it its with friends I’d be more chilled, if it is business occasion or a girl I try to dress up a bit but not all suit and tie I only wear a suit to a wedding or a convention And I also hate this new old money trend where pretentious kids are wearing cheap zara clothes to look like Loro Piana
At my college, I am usually the only student not wearing trackpants 😂 And they really don't understand why they can't find companies to intern at. So with some jeans, most often it's going to be just fine. Cargo depends, there are really neat looking cargos and they are very useful.
@@playingindies6730 I live in Balkan, Europe and never understood how colleges in US especially let their students wear shorts tank tops caps hats of any kind, even if they let em why wear it? @@erzontershani5362 I am in the Netherlands actually. But yes nobody tells then to put proper clothing on. I finished my internship within 4 months. Way before anyone else even started. Funny thing is, I dressed “older” in my early 20’s and “younger” now I’m in my late 30’s.

Never looked at how you dress being about age, more about self-awareness/confidence and occasion.

1/4 zip you are wearing is some damn heat my guy 👌🏽 🔥
Absolutely. Straight fire.
I'm just here to say I'm 41, and I want that Patagonia pullover that you're wearing in the beginning. DOPE in my book!

Not feelin 3s with suits. A bit too chonky. Maybe 1s and high top converses lol
I totally agree about J Crew. At least 75% of my clothes for work come from them. Great video as always!

I wear what I like and will until I die, I just added slacks and button ups to my closet for work stuff 🤷🏾
I just dress based on the event/setting. Not based on “age”
Im with you Eddie 💯
Can you make a video on what you wear to work?

I just like dressing preppy . Other than that suits for work . Hell if the job let’s me I will wear preppy stuff at work . Weddings formal wear .
To me being 28 i think you can wear whatever tf u want. BUT there def is a limit on items. Me im more of casual etc nothing crazy designer.
Couldn’t agree more! Great advice 👍
Who makes the loafers you’re holding? Great video!
Same question 😅
My guy 💪🏽
J Crew collab on the way?
