zbudda I guess the real point is that they didn't blame the tool (ie. bow and arrow), but rather the person. Makes sense either way anyways so it's a non-issue.
yes, I agree! Media blows this into something bigger than it is. Why aren't the stories where lives are saved by a responsible carrier paid more attention too especially in the media?
Glad you brought up the GoFundMe page. Several of the victims who are still in recovery have pages up as well. Cheyeanne Fitzgerald is one victim whose family told the media that they were pro-gun before the shooting, and they are still pro-gun now. I gave here a little donation for that.
The only Gun Control Law we'll ever need - according to me would state, "Every Legally Able Citizen, Eighteen years and older is hereby highly encouraged to carry the firearm of their choice, either openly or concealed, anywhere and everywhere their travels take them." There would, of course, be provisions for Mandatory Firearms Training in High School. The NFA would be abolished. The only people who couldn't own or carry a firearm would be those individuals that are not a U.S. Citizen, have a background of violent crime or diagnosed mental illness. Thanks Guys, Y'all are Awesome!
+James White why not legal, law abiding residents who realy want to became U.S. citizens? The process is long you know, and why couldn't they own and protect themselves in the min five years of residency that is needed to become a citizen?
14:45 I used to have go select a swish from the willow tree for my Dad to give me a thrashing. I guess some things are the same in the US countryside as here in the UK countryside!
Great video guys, so good to see the gun community come together and have this conversation. I don't know if you'll ever read this but thank you all for all you do, we really appreciate it and NEED it in these days and times. Thanks again.
Im a senior in High School. While i was in U.S. History my teacher flat out said that the text books have it wrong. America isn't perfect as we have been brainwashed to think. He said "We as Americans can atone for our mistakes. What we cannot do is let the government change us like the British tried to not too long ago. It is our job, and duty to not let government be a central tyrannical system teaching us to ignore our God given rights." I believe him 100%. He basically told us that we cant let the government control our beliefs. To this day (he said this 2 years ago) i still think about this every time i see something in the news about how guns kill people. Thats complete and utter crap. For politicians to use the loss of life as a political gain is wrong. People kill people. Can we stop gun ownership? Probably not. I, as an American who has God Given Rights, wont let that happen. You as an American shouldn't let that happen either. Someone could just as easily hurt or kill someone with a knife for instance as you 4 gentlemen stated. Its a matter of ignorance and perspective. I think this video puts a new perspective on this incident and brings a bigger picture up to look at. What do we do about the people who say Guns kill people? We cannot change ones beliefs. Our beliefs are our Rights. What we can do is educate these ignorant people on our opinion. Maybe it will make a difference, maybe it wont. What i do know is i believe in our Second Amendment Right whole heartedly. God bless you Guys, God bless our right to bear arms, and God bless America.
+Kolby9241 I'm glad to see there's another person who made it thru the school system without having their brains so twisted into knots they can't tie their own shoes. The BS taught today in the schools makes me want to puke, then you get into college and the BS is even spread thicker, but when your in college they don't have to hide their contempt for what the founding fathers actually meant when they drafted the constitution and bill of rights. Sad thing is there are so many idiots today that think that a government, especially the beloved US government, could never turn on it's own people and do things contrary to the people's well being. These people are so stupid or blind to see that their own government has already been caught in actions where it's citizens well being was used against them to further a political agenda, and yes people have died because of it.
+Rob Blute We were given a very limited federal government. The Founders expected the federal government to be so limited it would concern itself with foreign affairs and leave domestic issues to the states for the most part. But FDR had to massively expand the powers of the federal government in order to Socialize the US and "take care of" people. Exactly what our Founders warned us not to allow. Yes, the US government has killed Americans. In the 30s and 40s there were medical experiments that were not unlike the ones Hitler had going. There were also Eugenics programs that included castration, sterilization, and forced abortion. 800 Guatemalans tried to sue the US government a few years ago for Nazi-like medical experiments conducted in the 40s. These were like the Tuskegee experiments that started about the time FDR got into office and continued until the 70s under Nixon, when it was stopped. American children in orphanages were fed radiation and other experiments were performed on federal prisoners. Black slavery was America's first federal social program that could never have lasted long without the force of government.
Eric nailed it when he stated that it's better to die on your feet than on your knees. Every single conceal carry owner recognizes this and has already made that choice that they will not submit and simply be a victim. They've taken the responsibility to defend their life if need be and others around them. People like that should be commended not condemned.
Y'alls gripes have been some of my favorite youtube videos since you started them. You've been taking the words RIGHT out of my mouth and making them better for God knows how long and I hope that y'all continue. More guests, more gripes, more more more! Favorite channel on RUclips! God Bless!
I mentioned in a comment on social media that murder and violent crime has dropped more than 50% in the last 20 years, and instantly a number of people jumped on it calling me a crazy idiot. People are completely unaware of that fact. Most think, probably due to the media coverage, that it is up by a good deal. Of course I then linked official stats, but few will follow the links.
drmaudio your videos great, I can clearly tell that you are far more more educated than a "crazy idiot". “It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
I think you nailed one of the big problems, parenting and discipline. I grew up in the 60's and 70's, never once worried about some nut walking in and shooting up the school. But when you did something worth a trip to the office, you knew what you were in for, and if the folks found out !! I think we need to get back to real parenting and less SSRI's in kids.
+jeff bennett Wicked people have been around since the beginnings of human kind. Good parenting sure helps, but it's just a very small part of what makes someone do the things they do.
Gents , I live in Roseburg and would like to thank you for coming together to make this video. UCC is one of the only (gun free zones ) in our town and we will be working hard to change that. I'm a CHL holder and cant help but to think that I could have stopped even some of this mad mans actions.(Practice daily, Carry often )
+Icarus rising Ive seen a few vocalize doing so as an act of "Civil Disobedience" which Im on board with but I hope there isn't some cowboy out there that will try and open carry an AR/AK to class- as common sense often eludes some folks
+tatejj0311 its natural selection to let the idiots who don't look both ways before they cross the street die from a violent impact..if someone tries to open carry in a gun free zone, throw the dumbass in jail for causing public panic
23:11 My friends grandpa, a commercial pilot, had revolver in his suit, when he was flying, the competition placed a snake on the cockpit.... Thanks to a couple of .38s and his will to use them, he saved his life and probably those inside the plane
+TryNsurviveN No. It would like blaming alcohol which in your example would be why the car crashed. Thats why we created drink driving regulations. Thats also why we need more firearms regulations. No-one makes the point that guns can shoot themselves. Instead what anti-firearm advocates say, is that if you have someone intent on harming a large number of people, the lack of suffiecient regulations on firearms means that it is very easy for that person to do so. Make it harder for bad people to obtain firearms, and fewer large scale deadly shootings will occur. It really is as simple as that.
Kasbian Vaulks No it isn't as simple as that. That idea is will not change things for the better, it will make things worse. Whether firearms are banned or not, bad people will find a way to get them. With that knowledge your idea and those of all anti-gunners is saying that I and millions like me can not LEGALLY own firearms to protect ourselves from those that will still be able to obtain one illegally. That is not a good thing therefore I DO NOT support ANY gun ban. Have a good day.
Lets all give a round of applause to my man Mintz and each strive to be as badass as this hardcharger. Citizenship is an attitude, a state of mind, an emotional conviction that the whole is greater than the part...and that the part should be humbly proud to sacrifice itself that the whole may live.
+Shaza Maza well if you would stop believing every word that comes from politicians and the media maybe you would see the big picture, do your own research and you will begin to see the other side
+Shaza Maza It was a hoax, you dont even know where you are or what year it is.... The earth is a flat and motionless plane, the sun, moon and stars rotate around us. Everything you know is false...
+Hayes Steiner Guys look at the picture of him afterward, him and his friends are all holding up satanic hand symbols... I know your feeling i would do the same thing if i were in that situation but its a fantasy. Prove me wrong, show me real pictures of dead people. i cant find any. The father is following a script, See through the cloud of PC guilt.
Hayes Steiner sir its no need too go back an forth with ignorance. Most Americans are still living in the wizard of oz. We know who's behind the curtain pulling the strings and master minding these staged events.
Sometimes it's better to go ahead and carry in places you're forbidden to carry. Unless they use metal detectors or do searches, just go ahead and carry.
+Marc it actually is a gun free zone. UCC's policies say that possession or use of firearms on campus are strictly prohibited. There was a ruling a few years back in the state appeals court repealing gun free zones from public colleges and universities. But UCC has their own policies in place making it gun free.
+Marc What are you talking about? It was a gun free zone that's for sure. They even voted against having armed guards the previous year- and guess how that turned out.
i think should be a 3 way compromise. gun owners submit to background checks on all gun transactions, govt gets rid of all no gun zones including cities and schools, and the media voluntarily agree, as a whole, to blackout all names/faces of all domestic terrorists/shooters AND i think there should be a day or 2 per year of in-school gun safety/handling starting in 4th grade
Iraqveteran8888 As I do appreciate the thoughts on this video, There are several issues I do have in regards to the whole situation. This shooting happened across the river from my home. I also had to deal with alot of the investigators and media in regards to it. I can say that the shooters "dad" had to be searched online in order to be contacted in regards to what was going on. I can also tell you there were concealed carry folks on campus but were restrained. If I could figure out a way to get ahold of you folks I would have no issue discussing a bit more on this shooting.
I live just a few miles from where it happened, all it takes is one fucking shit head to ruin it for the rest of us. All the affordable ammo is drying up again.
Put metal detectors and armed guards on every door in every school across the country and this nonsense will stop. It will create jobs at the same time, its a win - win situation.
what would the press do if these atrocities that were committed was just stabbings would they publicize the stabbings so obama could ban knifes and swords ? just some food for thought.thank you for posting this video. love your channel
They're not totally illegal, but a person is very restricted to what they may carry in public or in their vehicle. I think it is illegal to carry a blade over 2.5 inches. Not sure exactly. Have to look it up.
I know this is why i made mention of it . cause here in the u.s. the media only publicizes shootings and bombings ,but not stabbings for the whole weapons and armed people to blame . but how many law abiding citizens that use these weapons ,or tools for self defence or self preservation of family and the innocence ,how many of them committed a crime to be disarmed against there will ? None that's how many but thugs and criminals can ruin it for law abiding citizens? F*#k that why not concentrate on getting more proactive about helping get illegal guns of the street. Post rewards for tips leading to confiscation of these stolen and unregistered weapons and the people who obtain them illegally.look at Australia after they banned guns ,it didn't stop anything . infact it only left good people defenceless and now they can't defend them selves .
Enjoyed this video a great deal ( and everyone's channels on a regular basis ). You should know that reducing cars, reducing drivers, is part of the master plan.
erasing a name from history and the history of the name do to a act he commit is childish and ridiculous those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it
+nathan de crom i think you missed his point ... the way the media put it out there its not news its a shrine , if they just said the name once and that was it it would be one thing but they make it out for the killer to be a hero for those who are thinking about doing such things
+nathan de crom Go speak to any PHD in criminal psychology and you find that the MSM coverage is for a known affect/effect ..that relates to them constantly idol-coverage of the actor not the act.
You 4 gentlemen got the video on air before me..lol I commend you all for taking the time and talking about this. Don't listen to these ignorant people, they are ignorant and don't know what they speak. You 4 are Patriots and may the Lord send blessings your way and to your family's. God bless
I would love to see Eric, Chad and some others start their own podcast in place of gungripes. They could not only talk about gun news and legal stuff, also but just share stories and just have a casual conversation.
I love each and every one of the individuals in this video. I subscribe to each channel and I am always glued to the computer screen the moment a video comes out. I will continue to do this, I still love you guys. I feel like this video is an expression of ignorance. I'm very saddened with a lot of the generalizations and accusations made with absolutely no basis. These are the same generalizations that are expressed towards gun owners, the same generalizations that frustrate us day after day. I hope that things improve, and that we all continue praying for the victims families.
+Tyler Rowe wtf are you talking about? there is a large collective of words meaning nothing. If you dont believe in what these guys are saying - go buy a 1 way ticket to australia - and you can get obamas promised land. BTW I am from there ....
Yes yes yes!!!! Thank you guys for making statements on this situation. I feel like I can't go anywhere to hear about the good guys, and people like mr.mence your in my prayers
You guys are so right when you say your parents have to notice something different about your kids. I'm 22 and my mom and step dad will always notice a missed beat when it comes to me, even my step mom can notice something is off about me and I see her every two months. So that kids father must have never talked to him, because just by my parents looking at me for a minute they can see I'm either ticked off, upset, whatever.
I agree whole heartedly with what yall are saying! I'm an 18 year old college student and I would love to be able to carry to my classes. Keep up the good work God bless you all
My mother had a rack, much like a Katana stand, with a bunch of oversized cooking spoons, kinda looked like scaled down versions of rowing ores, that were never used for cooking.
I was just remembering an article I read recently it talked about how the rise of violent crime is seemingly more common with the rise of prescription psychoactive drugs (anti depressants and the like). How if kids today can't sit still and pay attention in school we tend to prescribe drugs for them; instead of figuring out the root of the problem. Adults to, if we are suffering the affects of long hours at work or the lost of a loved one. Instead of either taking a real vacation or having time to properly grieve our loss. We just take a pill that will make it all better.
Always follow the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Do not give up your guns. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the ability to ignore the fear and proactively resist tyranny.
Thanks for the shout out to college students! There was an student robbed on my campus last week. I feel helpless on campus. Sure the university has police but that's doesn't help me when I'm making eye contact with a criminal.
My personal respect and sincere thanks to Chris Mintz for his courage and selfless actions. Thanks as well to all the guys in this important discussion. Every good guy with a firearm in America, also needs to join and contribute to the NRA, so that we can continue to fight the legal battle for our rights to protect ourselves, our families, our communities, and our Constitution. And lets not forget our men and women in Blue; the next time you see one of your police officers, thank them for their service. God bless you all, and be careful out there..........
You guys are awesome!!! So thankful people like you guys still exist, I'm a 19 year old college student in California and everywhere I look I see fellow students "programmed" into thinking guns are bad... It scares me because so many people buy into the media shenanigans like sheep
Hell yeah, you guys literally made my faith in humanity and gun ownership go up. Smart group of guys right here, they 100% understand what the hell is going on. They aren't one sided either, they are seeing both sides.
im 13 and homeschooled and i am making it a point to watch every gun gripe and gun podcast because i am wanting to become a gunsmith and a well educated gun owner and citizen
The dad's reaction reminded me of The South Park song Blame Canada. The parents at one point sing "We must blame them and cause a fuss Before someone thinks of blaming us"
Eric, Tim there was a concealed carry Veteran in an adjacent building willing to act. But the Teacher told him he could not. And he did not follow through but stayed to "Protect" his classroom... Who knows what the teacher/Staff told him to get him to "Stand Down".
From my porch! I love it! Tim "I wanna be able to own any gun I want to" HAHA I agree so much and closing the gun show loop hole OMG PLEASE! I want a HK416da5 with a gemtech and a 10" barrel
as my school principal said "we need PEOPLE CONTROL, not gun control, you can set a fully loaded and cocked AR-15 ready to go on the table, and the gun will not kill someone, people kill people." i responded "if you give a minigun to a sensible person, that gun won't fire, if you give that same fully loaded minigun to someone who's messed up, someone's going to get killed/hurt.
No one blamed the gun when that dentist shot that lion.
+Hagge Bänke (Robobunny) Exactly what the guy at my local gun shop said.
He used a bow and arrow.
Guy Shepard yes, but they finished the lion with a gun ;)
Guy Shepard Yeah the American used a hunting bow, but the two *South African* hunting guides used their guns to finish the lion off.
zbudda I guess the real point is that they didn't blame the tool (ie. bow and arrow), but rather the person. Makes sense either way anyways so it's a non-issue.
yes, I agree! Media blows this into something bigger than it is. Why aren't the stories where lives are saved by a responsible carrier paid more attention too especially in the media?
I agree
+Tim Yang maybe because you need to look at the bad stuff if you want to identify whats problematic.
+Tim Yang its all about views and ratings for them, they are a big business minus the money
+cans No you need to look at the entire subject without bias.
+Tim Yang why do america have more school shotings then europe? is everyone in america retarded ?

+Derpy McDerpinstein ours were willow when I lived in the south, madrona here in the PNW
+Seamus RBNW Yea, because willow switch raps around your lags when your mom switched you, my dad did not use a switch, he would us a belt.
Why if your from the UK do u call it a swish ?
***** Its what my Dad always called it.
+srspower Not to put too fine a point on it, but the proper term is "switch" which I suppose could be heard as swish.
Great video guys, so good to see the gun community come together and have this conversation. I don't know if you'll ever read this but thank you all for all you do, we really appreciate it and NEED it in these days and times. Thanks again.

carry concealed to class whether it's legal or not..just DO NOT get caught..but that's the point of concealing..
.. +Icarus rising conceal carry is legal in OR classrooms
+lundphoto While that is true at the state law level, the school itself had a no weapons policy, so for all practical purposes it is a gun free zone.

Blaming the gun in a shooting is like blaming a car of a drunk driving wreck. That don't make sense.
+TryNsurviveN 23:00 Eric sounds like he's getting very pissed off.......can't blame him.

That campus was actually not a gun free zone. Unfortunately no one in the classroom was armed and trained.
good point
+Marc it actually is a gun free zone. UCC's policies say that possession or use of firearms on campus are strictly prohibited. There was a ruling a few years back in the state appeals court repealing gun free zones from public colleges and universities. But UCC has their own policies in place making it gun free.
+Marc they also didn't want armed guards at the school also
+Marc What are you talking about? It was a gun free zone that's for sure. They even voted against having armed guards the previous year- and guess how that turned out.

State law overrides any institutional policy
Nice video Iraqveteran888, I agree with all the media adding more to the story of the Oregon shooting than than they should. keep up the good videos.
2nd Amendment should never be debated ! Hands Down , There debate solved
Great points!
i think should be a 3 way compromise. gun owners submit to background checks on all gun transactions, govt gets rid of all no gun zones including cities and schools, and the media voluntarily agree, as a whole, to blackout all names/faces of all domestic terrorists/shooters AND i think there should be a day or 2 per year of in-school gun safety/handling starting in 4th grade
All the affordable ammo is drying up again.
mandatory entail health checks
exciting to see you provide good info and entertainment to almost 1 MILLION people
Put metal detectors and armed guards on every door in every school across the country and this nonsense will stop. It will create jobs at the same time, its a win - win situation.
+Joe D No it won't....it transforms us into a police state; meanwhile, the terrorist/ criminal groups still have the strategic advantage.
No I`m not paranoid. Just thinking about the safety of children and older students.
metal detectors won't help as the team will shut them off upon staging of the event.
+Joe D So then you gonna do the same for every theater? Grocery store? mall? etc, etc, etc. That is not a solution.
+Samon you also seem to forget who decides what sanity is.
Hands down one of the best gun grips ever, keep them coming.
145 Dislikes hmm must be the ones that blame the gun...
+Jason Terry
They must also blame the spoons for making them fat lol
That spoon and fork are dangerous man... Lol
+Jason Terry And apparently evil too.
A GREAT exchange! Thank You and am passing this on far and wide...
what would the press do if these atrocities that were committed was just stabbings would they publicize the stabbings so obama could ban knifes and swords ? just some food for thought.thank you for posting this video. love your channel
+Leonard Surrena Happened in the UK.
+Samon
I believe he means there was a mass stabbing in the uk.
They're not totally illegal, but a person is very restricted to what they may carry in public or in their vehicle. I think it is illegal to carry a blade over 2.5 inches. Not sure exactly. Have to look it up.
There was also a rise in knife crime after gun laws were tightened.
You should know that reducing cars, reducing drivers, is part of the master plan.
erasing a name from history and the history of the name do to a act he commit is childish and ridiculous those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it
+nathan de crom i think you missed his point ... the way the media put it out there its not news its a shrine , if they just said the name once and that was it it would be one thing but they make it out for the killer to be a hero for those who are thinking about doing such things
pootato head ooh in that way... ok I feel stupid for missing that point
+nathan de crom Go speak to any PHD in criminal psychology and you find that the MSM coverage is for a known affect/effect ..that relates to them constantly idol-coverage of the actor not the act.
I'm sharing this video in every way possible.
Great thought provoking video guys. love the "on the porch" series, keep it coming! Shared!
Great show guys, thanks for your work and insight! Keep it up! Like the guest gun tubers round table, good stuff!
I hope that things improve, and that we all continue praying for the victims families.
no basis? you're praying for fake families,go watch more TV sheep.
+Tyler Rowe How about some specifics? I'm sure they can be rebutted.
+Tyler Rowe wtf are you talking about? there is a large collective of words meaning nothing. If you dont believe in what these guys are saying - go buy a 1 way ticket to australia - and you can get obamas promised land. BTW I am from there ....
Your point is spot on
+CobNasties why don't you enlighten us ?????
I'm liking the "group of friends chilling on the back porch" vibe for these long talks
A lot of your points are very valid; especially what was said about addressing the issue of violence.
Mac, you're the man. very well spoken brother.
I really like Mac I think he's a great guy
I would like to thank you guys for making this video. Great job!
love you guys keep up the awareness...i must truly thank you guys!!
+Marcus Aurelius That's hilarious. My buddies mom had a huge stirring spoon that was used to keep us in line, it never saw cooking use!
Good job guys, you've said everything that needs to be told. I wished more would listen.
thanks for the video. you guys were right on.
thanks for everything that you guys do.
spot on guys keep up the good work, I love all of your channels
All of your videos are great but this one is one of the best i have ever seen 4 real men sitting on the porch speaking the truth
this video deserves a good ole "amen"
Tim and Jon made some great points.
thank you for focusing a lot of this video on Chris.
I would disagree with you . But I wasn't there.
Thanks for the shout out to college students! There was an student robbed on my campus last week. I feel helpless on campus. Sure the university has police but that's doesn't help me when I'm making eye contact with a criminal.
I read a great story about an unarmed retired veteran who took on a psycho who had 2 hunting knives in a public library. Bravery at it's finest.
What Mac said about evacuating a classroom is 100% correct.
Awesome video guys, thanks!!!
I really liked this "round table" format.
Excellent video Gentlemen. Thumbs up!~~John
You guys should continue to do these type of videos not just on school shootings but other problems gun owners have.
You guys are awesome. Thanks for the video.
You guys are awesome!!! So thankful people like you guys still exist, I'm a 19 year old college student in California and everywhere I look I see fellow students "programmed" into thinking guns are bad... It scares me because so many people buy into the media shenanigans like sheep
You guys are spot on 100% Keep up the great vids!
Hell yeah, you guys literally made my faith in humanity and gun ownership go up.
Smart group of guys right here, they 100% understand what the hell is going on.
They aren't one sided either, they are seeing both sides.
im 13 and homeschooled and i am making it a point to watch every gun gripe and gun podcast because i am wanting to become a gunsmith and a well educated gun owner and citizen
totally right..support to you guys..from Belgium
A special edition Man Can in honor of Chris Mintz would be awesome. Hell, I'd buy two!
Thank you guys, God bless you!
Thank you all for speaking sense about these loose cannons and the medias response to these shootings.
From my porch! I love it! Tim "I wanna be able to own any gun I want to" HAHA I agree so much and closing the gun show loop hole OMG PLEASE! I want a HK416da5 with a gemtech and a 10" barrel
Thank you guys. ,great discussion.
Spot on Gentleman. keep up the good fight for our right..
"They will never let a tragedy go to waste".
Great discussion guys!!!
Much Respect to you guys for making this video.Alot of common sense that's missing in the world today.
awesome gripe lads i wish there were more chaps like yourselves around, the world would be a better place :)
you guys hit the nail on the head. love your videos.
Hi Eric! thanks! I received my Shotgun Man Can yesterday :D
I agree 100% keep it coming help people understand!
Well done gentlemen thank you please continue your work
as my school principal said "we need PEOPLE CONTROL, not gun control, you can set a fully loaded and cocked AR-15 ready to go on the table, and the gun will not kill someone, people kill people." i responded "if you give a minigun to a sensible person, that gun won't fire, if you give that same fully loaded minigun to someone who's messed up, someone's going to get killed/hurt.
In 30 seconds you guys are spot on
