Defense always has an early advantage in camp and this defense is in Year 3 and all those starting except Byard were with the team last year. On the other hand it's early days for the offense with a new OC, a new scheme and a new QB. There are also two new centers competing for the starting job, 2 of the top 3 WRs are new, the starting RB is new and the number 2 TE is new. Hopefully as the preseason progresses they'll rise to the challenge the defense is giving them and be better for it once the season itself gets started.

This Bears Offensive Line is going to Make or Break us this year. Hopefully they will stablize and provide good protection: But, right now, I'm seeing Caleb under alot more pressure than I'm comfortable with. I know, it's early and they are swapping players in and out; Trying to find the right O Line combination. But, basic, Stay In Front of Your Man, Protect the Quarterback, seems to be missing. I'm worried about that, more than the false starts.

That Offensive Line is Critical. I don't care how good your defense is, you have a quite low chance of a deep playoff run without a good Offensive Line. Unless you have Defense like the 85 Bears, a Superbowl is a pipe dream, without a O Line that can give your QB 4 seconds to throw the ball consistently. And even the 85 Bears Defense, only won 1 Superbowl.
Here we go again with those offensive line problems.
How has Chris Morgan survived all these years with complete garbage O lines?
Presumably they like the way he makes the most of the talent he has, even when that talent is poor, and the way he develops players. Braxton Jones has done well for a R5 pick and made the All-Rookie team as did Darnell Wright. Jenkins when healthy is as good an OG as there is in the league.

The defense is too old and will fall apart in the 4th quarter of every game. I expect a lot of 4th qtr losses. Older players are concerned about not getting hurt and getting paid. Young players are trying hard to make a name and a paycheck.
Too old?!! Byard's the only one over 30. All those not on rookie deals have already been paid and are under contract for at least the next two seasons. This defense is in its prime.
