I'm more upset at your Accounting/Business manager for it taking 24 months to catch onto a $800k per year expense run rate on Foley's credit card with Venmo/Paypal transactions littered all over the bank statements.
100% this should be fraud in itself. Fiduciary duty.
@upkeep9703 sadly they can try to fight it but since Foley had permission to use the card it will be hard to deem it as fraud. The bank looks at it as he had permission and it's Mike's fault for not being on top of it and still paying the credit card bill every month

You and your biz manager should have an agreement where if an individual charge (& total) meets a certain threshold, you have to contact me/seek my permission so that I’m aware. Even setting up basic alerts on your phone/reviewing monthly statements could’ve put a swift end to this. I keep reading what a dick Foley was to fans and there were red flags, but he must’ve had Mike completely fooled.
& I’m not blaming Mike. You’re busy & you’re not worried about finances, bc you trust your friends and the people you hired to keep an eye on the finances. It’s a brutal lesson to learn

most of those expenses are also not deductible for tax purposes, which is why the accounting firm was flagging certain expenses, the rest were being moved to a draw account probably in your name. that means not only did he fuck your in terms of stealing money, but also owe the IRS more in taxes.
