What a great interview! I came to see the pens, but the conversation was so lovely and informative. Hearing how much thought and care goes into the curation and use of the collection was inspiring. I laughed at the last question!
Really enjoyed this. Gordon is great! Great questions too it was very engaging. Would love to know what inks Gordon enjoys. And that hot take was fab! Another EF fan here.
I seccond that .. more architect nib casuall chats please .. when I heard Gordon talk about the lamy calligraphy nib being a good intro option for people who never tried architect nibs, my head went "I have to have it! I have to try!" :)
I love that you value other things and people in your life over pens. Sometimes we lose our focus on what’s most important in our lives thank you for really thinking about your answer to that question!!! It humbles me.
This is such a cool approach to currating a collection .. and what a collection that is .. thank you May for the super fun and informative chat .. also go Gordon! :)
Gordon helped me pick out my first gold nib pen! I also love the Platinum 3776, though I went for an M for my first pen. So it was really fun to see what his collection looks like! I also really love his ink sample rec he gave me, Sailor Yurameku Hanagokoro!
Can you guys share what it’s like getting a nib customized to your handwriting? I’m going to my first pen show this year and I’m a little intimidated by that process
Great video! Would love to see more tours, I wonder what other collections you'll be showing. It's interesting that Gordon is totally not sentimental about his pens but he is so knowledgeable about them! What are Gordon's favorite or most used inks? I feel like there are limitations to inks when using EF nibs because of clogging.
Great collection. Your F-C pen is quite interesting. I have the same model in a different color scheme and with the optional clip. The SIG grind is really good as you pointed out. I got mine after Jim passed, but I have to say that Audrey is a really great nibmeister as his replacement.
I really enjoyed his "philosophy". If something just seems to connect with you and makes you happy to have; I say go for it. We need more things like that to make us smile brightly😁😍
Nice discussion ! Respectfully, it’s pronounced “Lah-me”. I happen to be partial to the brand with over 40 Lamys in my collection. A visit to Germany to tour their headquarters was a thrill !
I love seeing Gordon’s collection as an EF pen lover myself! I wish we were able to see how they wrote to compare, maybe using a grid paper to properly gauge their sizes!
Loved watching this! Sailor 1911S is my favorite pen, it just fits my hand perfectly. But I like color/pattern variety so I have 4 or 5 Pro Gear Slims (same wonderful nib). I always wondered why people choose Pro Gear regular. Thanks Gordon for sharing this preference, and all your pens!
I really enjoyed this video and Gordon definitely gave us some food for thought. I would have loved to have Gordon provide writing samples of all the EF custom nibs. I really appreciated the one that was demonstrated. With an EF, I didn’t think that there would be as much variability in line weight, but I’m glad to see that there is. Great editing for this video, May! ❤ ✒️
Great video! I didn't know an EF could be turned into an architect 😮 and i totally understand the metals matching the pen. I got a pen with a gold toned nib last year and couldnt figure out why my excitement for the pen dropped when I used it. I recently got a rose gold toned nib, which matches the tone of the body, and now I love the pen and use it frequently!
Great video. No compromising is definitely the way to go - in pens, or anything in life. I've often skipped getting what I REALLY wanted (due to price) and ended up spending more in the end due to chasing a less expensive option I was never quite satisfied with. I have pens I'd like to sell but am never quite sure how to go about doing so...if anyone has tips.
Also-despite the camera issues mentioned at the top of the video, I think May did a great job editing in pen footage! Doesn’t look awkward at all. Awesome work!
@@IhsanZulkipliooh, I didn’t know about that! And yes, I do have the more recent AL-star-i assumed that Gordon’s would be the same because the timestamps in the description say AL-star!
I want to ask Gordon which pen nib/feed is best for detailed fine script appropriate for Asian characters but will still show Shading inks? Does he have a favorite shading ink/pen nib combo?
While Gordon's pen collection is fab, I love his smile and that his entire face is engaged when he smiles. Keep smiling Gordon.
For real! He's quite the eye smiler. Very warm and amiable
What a great interview! I came to see the pens, but the conversation was so lovely and informative. Hearing how much thought and care goes into the curation and use of the collection was inspiring. I laughed at the last question!
Hope more tours are to come. Love hearing people talk about their pens!
Really enjoyed this. Gordon is great! Great questions too it was very engaging. Would love to know what inks Gordon enjoys. And that hot take was fab! Another EF fan here.
I am so interested to learn more about architecture nibs now! I love Gordon's commitment to rose gold, he knows what metal makes him happy.

This is the most enjoyable pen video I have ever seen. More please 😊
I love that you value other things and people in your life over pens. Sometimes we lose our focus on what’s most important in our lives thank you for really thinking about your answer to that question!!! It humbles me.
Great video! I love the hot take: just get the full size 😂
this is cool;I'd like to also see his writing samples or a quick journal flip through or drawings.
Gorgeous pens and so much wisdom at the end ❤
Love this interview with Gordon! You can't help but smile while you watch this. It was really cool to see his collection.
Excellent excellent video! Great insights, Gordon. Entertaining too.
Gel pens as the gateway 😉 Great video - we can see why Jacob is obsessed with Gordon 🤩 Good energy 🫶🏻
This is such a cool approach to currating a collection .. and what a collection that is .. thank you May for the super fun and informative chat .. also go Gordon! :)
such a wonderful tour, its fascinating to see these collections ☺☺☺
I love how Gordon's Franklin Christoph pen (almost) matches the colour of his hoodie. Enjoyed these sharing videos ❤

I knew a lot of this, but I learned about Ian inventing this because of the eye dropper fill. Thanks for sharing Gordon.
Gordon you have an amazing collection of fountain pens.!! Thank you for sharing.!!! 💖💖💖💖

More Gordon please!🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing this video. I loved it. I hope to see more videos from May and Gordon.
Is… is Gordon single?! lmao he’s like a breath of sunshine! He’s so enjoyable to listen to, would love to see more of him on camera!
Great interview and conversation! Great hearing from you Gordon, what a fun insight to your collection and how it came about and how it fluid it is :)
Love hearing the stories from Gordon's collection, thank you for sharing!

Awesome! I'm a fine nib lover. Thanks for sharing Gordon.
I really enjoyed his "philosophy". If something just seems to connect with you and makes you happy to have; I say go for it. We need more things like that to make us smile brightly😁😍
Wow such a great videos; sick vibes; definitely got me deeper down the rabbit hole with pens haha!
Nice discussion ! Respectfully, it’s pronounced “Lah-me”. I happen to be partial to the brand with over 40 Lamys in my collection. A visit to Germany to tour their headquarters was a thrill !
Thank you for sharing your passion.
I am also a rose gold fan, that franklin Christoph pen is absolutely gorgeous!!!! that's a nice collection.

@may you are a very good interviewer!! ❤
Great video! I'm an EF person too, especially on Tomoe River.
Very interesting episode, Would appreciate to see writing samples as well!

Gordon’s Lamy Petrol looks different from the one I have! I thought AL-stars had an aluminum/metal body!
Also-despite the camera issues mentioned at the top of the video, I think May did a great job editing in pen footage! Doesn’t look awkward at all. Awesome work!
He has the Lamy Safari Petrol, which was a 2017 special edition. I guess you have the AL-Star version, which is a newer release :)
@@IhsanZulkipliooh, I didn’t know about that! And yes, I do have the more recent AL-star-i assumed that Gordon’s would be the same because the timestamps in the description say AL-star!
Ah! That's my bad - Gordon's pen is the Lamy Safari Petrol! -May
Gordon, will you share which inks you prefer for your EF nibs? Do you prefer wet or dry ink? A currently inked video would be appreciated too!
I want to ask Gordon which pen nib/feed is best for detailed fine script appropriate for Asian characters but will still show Shading inks? Does he have a favorite shading ink/pen nib combo?
I'm also an EF guy as well. With my tiny handwriting, I need tiny nibs, lol.
I genuinely just want the pro gear slim 😅
Haha
