Thank you for your videos I'm learning alot by watching them as I am a blacksmith that weld from time to time on certain projects , Keep up the good work :)
Thank you kindly!! I love seeing the work of blacksmiths! I’m happy to see you working on improving your welding skills, that’s smart! It will really help you!!
Great video, please keep them coming, there are gems of information in each one. You mentioned your welders cap so you are not burning your hair. I keep wondering how your pony tails hold up. They seem to tip to the front often and end up in the line of fire. Take care, thanks again, Bob.
Like you videos. Have you thought about getting a low speed high torque chop saw. It’s a lot faster then a cut off wheel and the steel blades last forever. Plus the pieces you cut are cool to the touch right away.
You can use flux core to weld art. It’s about making sure your machine is set up correctly. It’ll make your job a lot easier. With a traditional meg with gas I use oh 30 wire. It allows me to be more precise, and the melting temperature is lower because the wire is thinner, which allows me to weld thicker material, giving me, more range with the machine. I hope this help! Happy welding!
It don’t matter they all work the same! It’s a person using it that makes the welder work better or worse🤘🏻🤩⚡️❤️🔥👩🏻🏭 It don’t matter they all work the same! It’s a person using it that makes the welder work better or worse
Yeah I'm a bit late here but Congratulations on the book Barbie! Love this piece! You mentioned square nails - I've lately been forging my own square nails - it's actually quite fun - made my own nail header from a railroad spike - I feel like you'd love blacksmithing! FYI there's a RUclips channel called JLP Services Inc who is a female blacksmith that specializes in reproductions of old-school hardware - she makes some phenomenal nails - including ones with a skull for the head.Have you ever tried wax? For my blacksmithing work my favorite finish is to hit it with a wire wheel, heat it in the forge (or if the forge isn't already lit I'll simply use acetylene + oxygen torch...for small work a simple propane torch will do too), I like to heat it to a dull red which naturally leaves the metal black when it cools down, then as it cools, I liberally wipe it with minwax paste wax which you can find in the paint finish dept of a hardware store. Keep up the great work Barbie!
You are most welcome Barbie! Hopefully you like how it turns out...of course if you hate it, then go ahead and forget who you learned it from LOL!Cheers!- JD
M Morrison Spatter spray is for beginners, electricians or people who don't know how to set up their welder. I'm not going to say it's not completely useless, I just haven't used it in the last 17 years.....,.. I don't even use nozzle dip unless I'm doing a bunch of overhead.
Great video, watching you Don’t you smell your hair burning ? I would think you would tuck your hair in the collar of you sweat shirt. LoL. I am a old ball headed man so I don’t have that problem LOL thanks for sharing
Years ago I bought a MIG welder. I sucked at it. I could not get it to penetrate and the welds were ugly. I will soon be retiring, I will give it another try.
+Rick Harms Its about getting your machine set up correctly for your material and practice! You’ll get it!! If you get stuck email me and I’ll try to help.
Have you considered using a heavy piece of metal to hold down your pieces in place or a pointed metal rod attached to a heavy piece of metal. ruclips.net/video/sdJilpD025o/видео.html

Nice job! Hey I'm from Corning but live in Chattanooga tn now.

I have a chop saw but the accuracy isn’t there, the cutoff wheel flexes under cutting. I have a band saw I use for heavier stuff.
BarbieTheWelder check out the Evolution 14 in. Steel Cutting Chop Saws the use a metal blade and have really good accuracy.
try using anti-spatter it works well for me
T kind of welder can I use I don't have tanks

what welder do you use?😊
+chris rivera I am using a Lincoln 140 MIG welder running .030 er70s wire.
no splatter spray?
+M Morrison I actually have some but have never used it. I use nozzle dip on my mig tip but no spatter spray.

I'm a little disappointed you didn't show more close-ups and the finished application and the finished product mounted on a board or the wall
Sorry!!! There’s closer pictures in the book! amzn.to/2UE91Q5
