Hi Bozzy.🙋 I just wanted to say thank you for putting this video together. You and your mates nailed this one, bro.👊 Perfect video of an American icon. After all these years, that deep, growling V8 is still pretty amazing. To be best appreciated, this one needs to be seen on a big screen and with headphones. The audio and video quality is absolutely beautiful... great work, Bozzy!🙌
Hi Mick! thanks as always bro. Everytime I saw and old GT1 racer I'm always a bit sad and disappointed by the fact if I had started a couple of years before attending motorsport events, I would have seen these machines racing properly. Possibly my favorite modern racing series... But I can't be that sad since some owners and collectors are still using them! Wish you a great day ahead ;D
What an amazing race car! If I could have any car in the world, if I had 400,000 dollars, you can bet I would have a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo! A true American dream sports car
As a proud Saleen mustang owner i was so excited when the company debuted the Saleen S7. Already proud of Saleens efforts in racing with the Mustang, to see them pull off a class leading European style supercar was just a jaw dropper. It was something that even Top Gears Jeremy Clarkson which at the time so keen on bashing all things american automotive, could not dare to be seen presenting something that wouldve then crushed his beloved Ferrari Enzo. It wouldve been a very large american foot shoved in his mouth to bring that car on the television show. although he did in fact have one on their top gear traveling circus show. taking pains to calling it pornographic.
Unfff, favorite supercar on the planet, much in part due to its A E S T H E T I C S. Listen to that V8! It kinda has that Ford "tone" to it but carrying a great deal more power.
Bozzy! Incredible footage! Next time you find one of these up on airjacks, see if you can get video of the underside of the car! Would love to see all the turning vanes and aero work, Saleen spent a lot of time developing it and the car looks so stable from aero. Great videos as always!
I am still amazed that it runs on a Ford small block from 60 years ago (windsor family). Yes it's a new engine but it's basically the same as the one in GT40. The funniest thing is when in 2004 Ferrari decided to show off their new Maserati MC12 GT1 (racing version of Enzo Ferrari), the Saleen with with old GT40 engine beaten Maserati, and another 4 Ferrari's, crushing competition and winning the race at Ferrari home track. That day felt like ford vs ferrari all over again. Long story short: it's an amazing racecar, but an abyssmal mean of transportation.
Your videos have made me want to be the American version of you also if you ever go to America hit up a dirt track and see sprint cars it is 1 of the coolest forms of racing in the world

I think it revs closer to 7.5k as it's maximum and retains it's power through 4-6. It's got a beefy engine so it's bound to be like that.
