Wow! I remember playing this game over and over. Very fun game! I think it was one of those free games that came when you bought the Sega Master System.

this was the very first game that i owned, it was included in the Master System i got at christmas when i was like 7 or 8, it stood out cause it wasnt on a cartridge but on a plastic card.
"Rad Racer clone" > except that Hang on has been released on arcade 2 years before Rad racer. And Rad Racer was a clone of Outrun (still from Sega) released the previous year.
The Hang On Jr Arcade has the same hardware from the Sega Master System and the music from Hang On II from the SG-1000,but with better graphics and sound,a good conversion for the Sega Master System

planetX15 I had an SMS III from Tectoy that had already 101 games on it without the need of putting an game on it, and it had both 4 Alex Kidd games and Hang-On
you can not walk this game through because it has no real ending. After the 8 courses, you get same 8 courses again and again, each time with less time available. Changing gear in the corners is not the fastest way to take them, braking is better, even if the corner gets tighter.
My fave racers are: Ridge Racer Ridge Racer Revolution Rage Racer Ridge Racer Type 4 Daytona USA Daytona USA 2 Outrun (Arcade) Hang On (Arcade) Auto Modelista. Graphic spectacular, Gran turismo and Forza does not even come close
How can this be a Rad Racer clone, if this game came out in the arcades earlier? Maybe Rad Racer looks like Outrun, but this is a motorbike racing game. :)
yes, you can pause it, luckily, because it will take some time to play all the 8 courses. After that, it restarts at course 1 with a tighter time limit.
The first few stages are fairly plain, and the last two look just awful. There's a pathetic "city night" stage with miniature streetlights and buildings that never get closer, and the final stage is just like the first, except everything is orange!
@RAQUAAHWA TheCodedtestament - It was actually a decent conversion when you compare how much more powerful the arcade hardware was. Do you think a Master System can handle 16 bit graphics, 6,144 colours, pseudo-3D sprite-scaling, and parallax scrolling at 30 frames per second all at a resolution of 320×224?!??! Arcade hardware was light years ahead of what was available in the home. Even the Genesis/Mega Drive wasn't close to the arcade years later.
Quindi non aveva un finale questo gioco ! La mia fatica ad arrivare fino al livello 7 è stato tutto inutile ! Un finale sarebbe stato bello per premiare chi giocava a questo gioco che non potevi mettere nemmeno la pausa !
I remember playing this when I first got my SEGA in the spring of 1988. The night level was so cool.
Same here. This game came with the console!
I got this game today!
Yeah my son was playing gta and it went overnight in the game and reminded me of hang on.
I'm slowly remembering where I wasted so many hours of my childhood.
sarnobat2000 How many courses did you survived?
Never forget playing this on Christmas day back in 1987. I just wish it had the music in game too.
not enough sound channels.
I got my master system that same Christmas! The best I can remember!
Yeah I still have my game still works to 💯💯💯
Yep Christmas 87 is when I got mine too. It had duck hunt with it aswel as this built in
@@PS5MadMan same here,,,nostalgia...
This game was so bastard hard and unforgiving for me as a kid I don't think I even made past like the third course.
Cheers for showing it all.
This is the story of like 95 percent of games I played in the 80s
Don't think you were missing much as it looks as if it's the same course over and over to the end.
40 minutes or so of the same course.
😆🙄🤦
Wow! I remember playing this game over and over. Very fun game! I think it was one of those free games that came when you bought the Sega Master System.
Yep. This and Safari Hunt were on my Sega Master System.
Yes
What about the maze game? Remember the cheat to get it?
I used to play this all the time. Thanks, cubex55 for bringing back wonderful memories!
I remember playing this game all the time on my Master System. This and a light gun game came programmed into the system itself. So many memories.
Safari Hunt.

@Stefano Pavone you loose too much speed, braking is better
I will share this with my brothers. Our Master System have this game on the memory.
Wow can't believe I found this. Memories 😊
i like this one way better than Super Hang On for the Genesis/MD or the Arcade version. It just plays better, and the nostalgia can't be beat!
this was the very first game that i owned, it was included in the Master System i got at christmas when i was like 7 or 8, it stood out cause it wasnt on a cartridge but on a plastic card.
I remember those card-formatted games that came out in the Master System’s early days, but Hang-On was not one of those.
@@kramalerav Yeah my hang on came in a cart with safari hunt.
@@kramalerav Hang On was included free with the Master System, on a card, when I got one for Christmas in England, 1988.

8 years on and this description still keeps me up at night. I mean, I like Square, but damn... Wonder what ol' Mr. Popsicle thought of Space Harrier?

I swear, at the beginning when the bike was accelerating, I thought the SMS start-up sound will pop up.

41:14 - The saddest "GAME OVER" theme I EVER heard!
When i turned on my console with no game inside, I played Alex Kidd.
@ Others had Hang On and a snail maze
@@planetX15 Yep Hang on for me
It's weird how the SG-1000 version keeps the music, but the upgraded Master System version doesn't, when both share the same PSG sound chip.
It's even more bizarre considering the music is actually present in the games ROM but is unused for literally no reason...
Hang on 😊

Jogo clássico do Master System.
nuss man, eu jogava quando tinha 4 anos velho kkkkkkk, hoje tenho 15

I reckon I could get a clean run in this. No skidding or break changes. Used to play this for hours.
Esse jogo vinha na memória do Master Sistem e eu jogava muito porque os cartuchos custavam caro.
when you turned your console on without any game in it, that's what you would play

This seems like the precursor to Rad Racer. But there is more to this game by the looks of it.
That's what I should've wrote in the description about why the game is boring.
How is this a clone when Rad Racer came out 2 years later??
They both very good games, which I'm glad to play novadays :)

Eight bit perfection for a racing game over Nintendo back in the mid 1980's, but now it's feel a bit outdated.
@bl00derly No, I wasn't really even paying attention to the score.

thanks

It competed (or was intended to compete) with Excite Bike. Hang-On sported it’s graphical superiority, but the gameplay not so much.
@@kramalerav There's no source on that

any stand up after that
which master system did you have? ^^
