Andrew: I place the blame for an inexperienced judge on a very consequential case on the selection process in the FIRST place. It should NEVER have those inexperienced judges in the selection pool. For these very important cases, only experienced judges who are well respected should be in the selection pool. These rules need modification.

Actually, police officers are IN EFFECT a law unto themselves. Between there IMMUNITY that the Supreme Court has given police and their UNIONS (which are more powerful than the unions every other working person has), police have to do something so outrageous AND have it on VIDEO, to be fired and (perhaps!) indicted.

I fail to see how appointments of new judges will ever correct the bad/incompetent ones already on the bench. 🙄😓 instead there needs to be some oversight mechanism. Yes, vote blue to get rid of more poor choices, but term limits and some oversight is sorely needed. Maybe just maybe she will make a mistake in her ruling on the gag order and get the ball rolling for her removal. We can hope, but it might not happen even then.
There should be a way to fire judges for demonstrably poor performance.
There is and it depends on the Judge. One that is elected can be voted out. A SC Justice or a Federal Judge can be impeached by the House then tried in the Senate. Then the Senate would vote to remove. To change that would take a Constitutional Amendment.

Critique: Michael, you may laugh at the absurdity of the judge's corruption and/or incompetence. But, to the viewer, it just sounds like the problem is somehow funny. I don't think that's your intent. However, it has the effect of trivializing what is a clear and present threat to the system of justice and democracy in this country. It's most certainly NOT funny. This is irrelevant. All that matters is her orders and the 11th Circuit handling of any writ or appeals, and then SCOTUS.

@@Wizz15 I am happy she is taking the time to explore the LAW on each Motion. Justice in America almost always moves slow. And if you look at the motions they are all legal. The most Important is the one on the appointment of Smith by the AG. And seeing that the DOJ can not show where the AG is expressly granted that authority. I highly doubt that no matter how she rules that will be the end. This is a question that needs to be answered not just for this case. But for the Future cases that I am sure will arise at some time. When asked by the House Committee even the AG could not answer that one question. And it is not about the Special Counsel being legal but is it legal for the AG to appoint one.
Ironically, if she were a judge doing an un-biased, proper job of it, SHE'D BE GETTING DEATH THREATS!

@@amercanmade2685 Not at all. Judge Merchan's daughter doesn't live with him, and has a life of her own, apart from him. This is vastly different than the wife of a Supreme Court Justice. Sure, in a sane society, a wife should be allowed to have and express her own views as she sees fit. . . to a degree. When that wife is living under the roof of said Supreme Court Justice, and it's not immediately clear that SHE was the one that hung that flag upside down, or flew the 'Appeal to Heaven' flag, then no, she's not exactly free to make such expressions without consequences falling on HIM, and as his wife, should be taking that into consideration.
The wives, and husbands, of many powerful people can tell you that once their spouse got a position of power, their own choices changed in order to protect their spouse. They had to exercise a degree of discretion they hadn't had to before, because of the reflection on their spouse.
