I am so glad that you had the guts enough to come on here with your honesty! I've been collecting jades for years and everywhere I turned, "fake, fake, fake!' An antique owner close to where I live boldly told me that I was a flat out liar when I told him that I had a piece of jade independantly appraised several years after I bought a jade statue and told me that I actually bought the appraisal and the statue together. He told me that collecting authentic pieces was expensive and someone like me could never afford to collect the real thing, I was livid

THX for sharing your expertise, wow, you have some great pieces in your collection, must have been a hard job to get this all together, the only thing i have a problem with is when you tell there are Blue chips of agate in the glaze, as far as i know from my field of expertise there is no blue agat found in nature, and if you see nowadays agate which is blue, be shure it has been chemically treated to change the colour, maybe the blue chips are Azurite or another blue mineral which does not melt at 1200 celcius, i was amazed when i found out Quarz was/is used to make the glaze on blue ware , to give the pieces an opportunity to survive mankind.

@@chinesemasterpieces The only Blue Quarz i know is Chalcedony, a microchrystaline variëty, probably we are talking about the same material, anyway, i wish you a pleasant weekend ! cheers, ad

They used Cobalt to create the Blue color in the Blue and White wares, this is why it's easy to distinguish the color of the Blue in different periods, Dynasties.

@@chinesemasterpieces That's so true, what i know now is that pieces from the Ming period have really dark pigment spots in the blue because of the minerals with cobalt in them they used then and during the different periods the ingredients for the Cobalt were different, but i guess that imitators are aware of this and make use of it, but mostly they miss the spirit of the original masters, and the nowadays Master ceramists/ painters in China get a lot of money for their pieces, anyway there is still a lot to learn about this fascinating subject !
i really love the Sung period, such perfection in colour and shape, we here in Europe were still bashing in our heads then, and as we see now History repeats again & again !
      Have a great time !
