- Hey guys, today I will show you how to build a swimming raft out of hemlock, cedar and some 55 gallon drums/blue barrels. Enjoy!
You can find 55 gallon drums on Facebook marketplace usually.
Snow the strapping that’s important!!!!
I’m making a new video on how to do it!
Hope you guys enjoyed the 10x10 swimming raft tutorial! Leave a comment if you have any questions cheers
I am making a mobile floating
island in a similar way to this.
But welded aluminum rubber coated frame and then tarp and soil and grass on top with sand on the outer edges.
And circular rather than square.
@@SherrickDuncan That would be pretty awesome. Will it be on barrels?
@@tom_sassenyes. I have 60 plus 55 gallon barrels.
@@tom_sassenquestion would these in your opinion float if encased in cement / concrete?
What do you think about replacing the barrels with plastic bottles?
I would advise against that. Main reason is that it could deteriorate faster and make a larger mess. 55 gallon drums are much better and you don’t need to use as much
@@tom_sassen thanks for the tip!
How many people will it hold?
About 3000 ibs
what is the width?
10 feet about
Do you know how much weight it can carry
It comes out to about 440 lbs per drum.
9 drums is approximately 4000 lbs.
@RobertBee-c8b thank you
Hey Tom, can I get this design from you. Thank You
Awesome! Have a good one
@@tom_sassen Thank you Tom, I'm Savin from Indonesia. I'm planning glamping On a boat. I find your design very interesting if I put a tent on it.
Hey Tom my name is Ron I have a quick question about a floating restaurant can you hit me up please
Sure whats up?
@@tom_sassen I need to build a layout and specs for a 40x40 floating cigar lounge/restaurant and one level
@@ronaldmanigat Sounds cool, put as many barrels as you can fit in that 40x40 area. Each 55 gallon barrel has a maximum buoyancy of about 450 pounds. Try to make the walls and the structure of the building as light as possible and make sure to have many escape routes in case of fires etc..
Not allowed on Ga public lakes
That’s too bad
