Thank you for the shout out, Ari! Nice video. That's an effective portable station you have. A bit jealous of the camera resolution, too! 73 from VE3TWM.
Hi Nick. I have to say if I could only have one antenna, it would have to be the Inverted L as it has both vertical and horizontal components to the radiation pattern, making it a great all-rounder. I think you should try it 😊
In short yes. It directly effects the VSWR. I found the longer the coax length to the choke, the better the performance as that part of the coax acts as a counterpoise.
@@gam67 I'd say around the 10m mark as a minimum What ever is most convenient to keep your choke out of the weather if thats a consideration. Make sure you tune your antenna length to the lowest tx frequency after you install your choke.
Really well done :) Very interested in the antenna setup. Nice!

Thank you Tracy, your are more than welcome. The camera I use is my Galaxy Note 8 cell phone. 73s.
Thanks Alistair, that was just the raw audio, no Digital Noise Reduction , no antenna tuner either .
Hi Ari its Nick what do you think of the inverted L Configuration i have a130 feet dipole thinking of setting it up as an inverted L 73

good video my vk2 73 have good dx good luck
Does the length of the coax cable between the choke and the multiband antenna matter ? If yes which length ? (i got the same antenna).

@@radioaxe6964 Roger, and which length would you recommend ? I have the antenne on my roof and thinking about putting the chock in the ceiling.

Great video! 73 de DD1WS
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching :)
Hi curious which squid pole you are using in this video please?
Hi Alex, I am using Hyendfed brand. Same as the antenna. Unfortunately I don't think they sell poles any more.
