    "Way too long. How about you do it your way but then a quickie 2-3 summary version for those of us with short attention spans" How about no...I think you are watching the wrong channel dude. There is no way to do a quality review in that amount of time. ANY time I forgot even the slightest detail it generates many questions in the comments. This format is the best way to answer the questions and give quality info. If it's too long for you there's other reviews out there.

    I just purchased the AA2 Tactical last week and love it. I EDC this light and am very impressed. Note that I did have a problem with the clicky switch not activating the light and thought I would have to exchange it. However, after talking to the very helpful customer service department at 4Sevens, all I had to do was tighten the retaining ring in the tail cap -EASY. Highly recommend the light and won't leave home without it. Thanks Nutnfancy for the high value vids.

    Just ordered a Quark 123 2 tactical. Shipped this morning around 8:35am about 9 hours after i ordered it. Thanks for turning me on to such a killer company and product! Your reviews are totally the reason I bought it!

    Great review, thank you for all the reviews you do from lights, rifles, pistols etc. I have bought guns and lights from your reviews and I am a very happy customer from all my purchased items. The gun, light and knives companies should thank you for making their products known to the public with such great reviews, you are fair and always say the good and bad about the products. God bless and be safe always.

    Well, I did it. I bought the Quark AA2 Tactical from PFIDude. At first, I was a little flustered with the UI. But I went to 4Seven's web site to watch their demo video and I re-visited this video on the UI portion. Problem solved! It's just one of those things you have to get used to. It's a great light. Much better than the Mag Lites that I have been using for the past 15 years.

    I bought this light 5 weeks ago and it is the best light I have ever owned. Brighter than the preon 2 but uses AA batteries instead of CR123s. A great choice of light for EDC, jogging, backpacking, night hiking. While night Hiking I actually blasted some people with it on max mode (200 lumens) from around 25 yards and they got kind of annoyed at me because it completely blinded them. That's a pretty good way of saying how bright this light is.

    Excellent light overall. Bought the Tactical version because I thought Idk like setting 2 modes better. Friend got the other version. Wish I would have went with the other version. Found myself always wanting different modes in the tent at night and had to reprogram. Spend 2 months with me backpacking across 25 national parks. Still working great. One problem I encountered was after nights in the teens I couldnt switch modes until the light warmed up.

    After seeing your review of this light and from seeing my cousins, i just had to buy one. I just ordered it from PFIDude and can't wait until it comes! It will be my first good flashlight, and I'm super excited. Thanks.
    P.S. You reviews break my bank (which isn't too much since im 14). I bought a Benchmade 741, a 940 Osborne, a Next Gen KABAR, and a Cold Steel SRK on your recommendation, and i love every one of them. Thanks TNP!

    "By the way does the fenix light cone fit on the quark? I doubt it but it doesn't hurt to ask. thanks for the awesome vids!" The .2 lumen capability rocks...but keep the LD20 it does too. It's ok to have more than one too. And I will keep reviewing these the standout lighting products for your future purchases too ;-) Correction on my vid: The Fenix emitter accessories WILL fit the Quarks; just push them on tight (I didn't want to break them earlier...been there, done that!). Thanks.

    Go for a Surefire, or maybe a Klarus. I have a $15- Rayovac indestructible 2AA that SMOKES my 4sevens, Fenix, and Nitecore lights! It tailstood on high for 2.5 hours, then, after a battery change, went 31 hours at about 20 lumens on low before it dimmed. Test it for yourself if you have doubts. Great light, great value!

  • @ArtsAndTactics
    @ArtsAndTactics 15 лет назад

    The LD20 pocket clip is made well, but I don't like where it rides on the light. Kind of mid-mounted with the emitter end facing up. I took it off and re-positioned it on the tail cap so that the light rides deep in pocket with the emitter end down as I prefer that carry style. It isn't as locked in but functions very well and will stay put for all but the most rugged activity.

    I like this light, might need to check one out the next time I go "shopping."
    I agree that most people will not usually use the "cigar hold" style. I find that the cigar hold doesn't really provide a solid grip for use of hands for hand-to-hand if needed.

  • @themomaw
    @themomaw 13 лет назад

    I EDC one of these. A little big, but not enough to be a big burden in my opinion. The shape is streamlined so it doesn't bulge in the pocket, and as Nutnfancy points out it weighs little. YMMV, some guys just can't tolerate much hanging off of their pockets. I love the "moonlight" mode, turn the thing on at night and you won't zap your eyeballs. Enough light to see where you're going and what you're doing. Nice selection of output levels, excellent battery life if max output used sparingly.

  • @f22shift
    @f22shift 15 лет назад

    i have this. it's great.
    only con is the "Pre-flash" but in real world, it's never been a problem.
    Tip: tailcap can lockup when slightly unscrewed because of tailcap anodization on the thread. you can top load the batteries to save on the wear and tear of the bottom to have the "lockout" for a lifetime.
    the rubber strap comes in handy for joggers. you dont want a tight grip while running.
    i really love these nutnfancy vids. i can watch him review peanut butter.

    @READComment1 I don't know if I'd buy another 4sevens light. I like the quark AA, but the switch feels junky, and the threads on the tailcap were pretty rough and pinched the o-ring. I also have a quark mini CR2 I like, but it mode skips alot. For a single AA, I'd look at a Nitecore D11 next time, or 2 AA, maybe a Fenix LD 25 or LD 20. My TK20 is a tank, and very nicely finished, but maybe a little bulky for EDC!

  • @pathyskeeter

    I just ordered the AA2 tactical with a single 123, deep pocket clip, Eneloop AA rechargeables, and spare tail cap switch. =) This is replacing my Streamlight Stinger that I have used in aircraft maintenance for the last 4 years. Also I was looking for versatility.
    Sealed beam, adaptability to put on a long gun, different battery and length options, reliabilty...looks like a pretty good light! Looking forward to see waht it could do.
    Sadly, there was no nutnfancy coupon code...

    I have to say that the inability to select any mode is a deal breaker, and I'll have to go with the non-tactical light. I use my Quark AA2 in my EDC, and I have no need to be limited to two modes. There are no appreciable differences between the tactical or non-tactical mode, other than the UI, and the non-tactical can be stood on its end (a la Fenix LD20.) I'm not a big flashlight geek, but I'm a big fan of 4Seven's products, and this one in particular. It's just about the right size for EDC.

    I bought 3 thanks to you and love em!
    Way to go 4sevens for adding a "bare bones" packaging (the green packaging) that is very functional, and saves you a few bucks (I bought a resealable bag for mine and chucked the box anyhow).
    Why reverse the pocket clip? Because you can clip it to a hat band or the brim of your cap (the AA^2 is a bit long but still works) and never need a headband.
    Also note, you cannot run the standard emitter with double CR123... you will burn it out.

    My Fenix L2D had the head lock up on it. They said it was due to no lubrication. Apparently I hadn't maintained it properly! - They sent it to the factory and I should get it back from 4Sevens in a few months! -- I think that form of customer service stinks! Waiting to see if I even get it back before buying more lights from them.

    @00116332 The way I understand it is, there are 8 modes on the flashlight but you can only access 2 of them at a time. One is set when the bezel is open and the other closed. You can't just cycle through the modes like a normal quark or preon.

    Is that rubber grip sleeve for running with the light? As in jogging, like those water bottles with handles so they don't fly out of your hand? I could see using it for that. I like running with a light if it's getting dark. Illuminate the path plus the bad guys!

  • @rdjward
    @rdjward 14 лет назад

    Great video. Just one correction though, at around 12:52 you mention in a text bubble that you can add a regular tail cap to tail stand and get the standard UI. While it's true that it can now tail stand, the UI remains tactical except without momentary on. There is another tail cap (the turbo one) that allows tail standing while retaining momentary on capability.

    Hey guys, I want to give all my fellow TNPers some forewarning. This may seem a little late, but I used this light extensively during Hurricane Sandy. I tried to avoid letting it run hot, and I took good care of it with good batteries. Yet, during the hurricane, the tail cap "exploded" on me and it stopped working. Foursevens apologized and sent me a whole new flashlight. Foursevens CS is amazing. I have been hard testing it ever since so I could give a fair assessment and I must say, flawless since. Just some information on my experience for those of you looking to get it

    Thanks for the video, Nutnfancy! I'm looking into a new light lke this (something bigger and more powerful than my Stylus Pro).
    I do have one comment, though. I can only speak for myself, but when I have a cold or the flu, I'm really sensitive to light. and my eyeballs always give a little shot of pain whenever I get shined, even on a RUclips video. Would it be too much of a problem for you to not shine flashlight directly into the camera?

    Neutral white LEDs are manly used for outdoor use in which they have a better color rendering, better brush penetration and less stress to the eyes for extended time use. Try it to for yourself to realize. Usually the NW leds have less raw power
    output compared to CoolWhite Leds of the same kind but compensate this because the human eye is more sensible to that frequency range.

    What happened with your 4Seven? I am eager to know because I'm considering buying the Quark AA Tactical.... My budget is right around $50, and I need a light that will survive short falls, and temporary submersion.... We may be doing some caving soon. So having a reliable light that ALSO lasts a very long time in lower run-modes, is life-and-death for me. What would be your suggestions, if not the Quark? I love the Quark moonlight mode idea....

    @jbeatles99 i need some advice. i am stuck between the aa2 r5 and x. in order of importance are runtime, throw, and brightness. runtime and throw being very important. i like the x's brightness but have heard the throw is not that great. also, runtime (according to 4/7's) is better with the r5. i will most likely buy an aa body to lighten the load for backpacking. i use eneloop batteries normally and lithiums when backpacking.

    Hey nutnfancy, you should take a look at the icon flashlights. Even though they aren't using the brightest emitters, they are light and simple to use. They also look pretty futuristic. Just check them out. Also great review, 4 7s are a great company that listens to its consumers. Keep up the good work.

    Great video! Will the Fenix diffuser tips, wand, or red filter fit on the Quark?

    Hey Nutn, seriously dude, your vids are just getting better! I don't know how you do it, inspirational! Great vids (always), great information (always), good entertainment (guaranteed), awesome! The TNP project was inspired, I for one am really enjoying the journey, thanks. One question about the Quark AA^2 light, can it fit the Fenix headband clamps? If yes then I'm gettin' one! Keep up the good work mate, you have a loyal following in the UK. Cheers! SentinelIP

    I have the AA2 (not tactical) and have EDC it for about 6 months. I love it, and use it alot at work (as a paramedic/firefighter) and still edc it when I'm off duty. (in the front pocket on a belt clip, not in the holster.

    Any chance of a review of the different systems in utilizing these on bikes (& scooters)?

    Nice vids!! I was watching a bunch of your vids earlier and thought I saw you mention the Fenix LD20 pocket clip somewhere where you had an LD20+ w/ pocket clip on the screen. Maybe I haven't watched far enough into this vid yet.. but anyway.. At 10:25 or so you discuss the pocket clip of this light and the LD20+. I just got an LD20+ and I agree, the clip moves around to much. I was hunting around the house for a small thin piece of rubber (like the *****continued*****

    The inside of the lens almost looked wet. Is that the contour of the reflector?

    I just got a Quark AA regular. Pretty good, but judging quality wise against my Fenix TK20, I kinda wish I went for a Fenix LD10! Also check out the Fenix camping lampshade, which fits my Quark nicely and makes a cool lantern.

    Nutnfancy hope you doing well! I was curious about the differences in tint with the new S2 vs the R5. I have read various articles on this subject but nothing clear on the subjects talking about different batches of color. Thanks in advance I know you will shed some light on this subject after the 2011 Shot Show but I'm in the mood to buy now I just sent my sister out of the country for 11 months in 11 countries backpacking with the LD20! Can you say field test?! =)
    Thank for all your reviews
