Good morning, we are praying for everyone in the path of Helene, we are fairing ok here right now, it’s pouring rain with some pretty intense wind gusts, our sweet corn is on the ground, but we are thankful that’s the only damage so far. Again we are praying for everyone that is and has been in the storms path 🙏
The stone heads should do well there. We have planted them along the blue ridge of VA. They produce a small, tight head with a strong flavor and they don’t mind cold temperatures.
I saw on another channel how they shelled their dried beans. They put them in an old pillowcase and gently hit them on the ground. They all came out, saved alot of time. We just love you guys. You're our favorite 😊
Megan, "Simple" is BEST! "Simple" frees up energy, that you would expend on stress, to use in a more healthy way. Because y'all keep it "Simple" is why this Gramma is a diehard TrueGrit Lawson Family fan!
Hello everyone, I'm still sending prayers up. This storm has affected so many. Dear Lord please continue to wrap your loving arms around all who need you. ♥️🙏🏻🇺🇲
What an enjoyable time we spent with you this evening. Just walking and talking and enjoying the work that needed done. Thanks for sharing and showing how you can get stuff done and enjoy yourselves too. Stay safe and hope and pray you all are safe through the storms. Fred.
I agree about cold weather. This past summer I had extreme heat, drought, ground hog and garden injury on my knee. Now I'm recovering from knee replacement and have no interest in a fall garden this year.
I was wondering the very same question. I loved my Troy built. There wasn't none of that bouncing around and the dirt was nice and smooth. That being said "to each his own."
..Texas got one..Louisiana got one..Florida now has two.. ..reading major floods and possible mud slides predicted for the Appalachia..dont forget to pray for Celebrating Appalachia/and their daughters and Collard Valley Cooks (Georgia).. 😇🥰😇
😂😂 for the first time I was looking forward to winter, and three cold days in I was over it. Spring has started out hot here, and I'm resisting grumbling about it 😂
I can’t wait to get my collards and kale and whatever other cool season crops started and then put them outside. I’ve already sown lots of kale, cabbage, beets, spinach and carrots outside. The ONLY seedlings that are doing well are the carrots and the sugar snap peas. The peas 🫛 I can grow, they are so easy for me. All the other seeds ❤❤
2 hours south of you, we’ve had quite a bit of rain and lots of limbs down from the wind, but it’s beginning to clear. Thought about y’all and hoped y’all were ok….God is good.
I love your everyday life.. jealous LOL..I was raised like you are living..76 years old now..your kids will be good parents too. MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALL. LOVE YOUR GREAT FAN..GRANDMA JUDY FROM LOUISIANA
I’d so love to meet yall in person but our house on the market and showings have picked up this week finally 🙌🏼. Praise God our drainage is working great cause Helene brought us 13 “ here in middle GA and we were already soaking wet right before with a previous storm😩 Valdosta GA got hit pretty hard again-my daughters car got totaled last yr from storm so she parked in parking garage! I’ve been living vicariously through yall this yr-didn’t plant as we were hoping to be moved. Enjoy every video! Hugs to the kiddos! Love yall bunches!
Great job y'all 👍🤠👍. Hope things stay safe for y'all with the storm coming. One of these days we might get to see Andy chomp down on a raw tomata 👍😜. Don't know what yr missing 🫣😁 Stay safe y'all ❣️🫶❣️
Praying for your family and safety. We are seeing videos right now if North Carolina and a river is out with houses floating down the streets. I pray you are not getting that. Stay safe and take care.
Very interesting to see cabbage planted this late, my Daddy always planted it early and never planted it late so I'll be interested to see how it turns out. And Meagan, from the side you look just like your Mama ❤❤
Good morning, as a midwestern city girl, I truly enjoy and appreciate your videos. Thank you both (and the children) for showing us your ways. I learn something new from you’ll every time I watch. Thanks Denise, Indianapolis, Indiana

My goodness looking at you all in shorts and t-shirt makes me envious. We've gone straight into winter in Ireland. No autumn 😢 We had our first frost first week in September. Normally, it's the end of October . I hope you are not affected by Helene. If you are in the path, please take care.
Didn't get to watch till Saturday. Hope ya'll came out good from the storm. We had a lot of tree limbs down, lots of rain of course , lots of wind, but thank God we are safe. The worst part missed us. That huge green plant where you planted the collard plugs is very familiar. My Daddy had those planted throughout our garden for moles . He had a wide assortment of gadgets for those pest. My brother and I would laugh because it was like Elmer Fudd after the crazy rabbit, 🤣.
I received my cabbage and collard plugs last week. They were a little yellow, but like you said, that's to be expected well here in Jacksonville the temperature got a little to hot for mine and SOME things didn't make it.I learned my lesson so next year lord willing I will do like you did and plant them in something until the temps drop. Its no fault of hoss just a learning curve for ME!😅❤
I always love hearing ya'lls guineas in the background. Maybe you could do some footage of them in an upcoming video, how about Andy and Jacob trying to catch one 😉 we would like to get some guineas one day. Always look forward to watching another video from you. Take care and know we continue to pray for you. Love ya'll ❤
We haven't had any rain in weeks and weeks! It's still hot - 90° plus today. I am so sick of $800 electric bills and hearing the air conditioner running constantly. If I was younger (70) I would be tending to my garden too! Be good, be safe, be well and most of all be Blessed!
Like Meagan said....after all the work and time put into spring/summer garden......shine, your burnt out. I was raised on a farm and when I was little I was sentenced to the garden with moma until I was big enough to crop tobacco 😢 that's a totally different can of worms, this was in the 60's😅
Have you ever used and/or thought about using hoop tunnels to get some of your ground crops through the colder months? Luckily we did fine from H. Helene in S. Fla but for those who might not have been we're sending prayers out to everyone! 🙏❤🩹 -best wishes, Sheri
I'm in NJ and last week we planted collard greens, kale, spinach, arugula all from seed and they are all up and doing well. It's fall now so we have started picking up leaves people put to the curb for vegetative waste. We bring it home and shred it in our big shredder and add to all the garden beds as well as the compost heaps. Makes for wonderful dirt. You two are a joy to watch!!!!
I have had front tinetillers when i gardener my garden is bad rocky they beat me to death but I could not afford the front tire my back blowed up on my job from lifting something I should not have done that ended my gardening many years back I really miss it watching yall brings back good memories and miss the good fresh vegetables
I hope y’all stay safe during this bad weather season they say it’s heading up the coast to y’all too and I just love Maggie she is so cute and sweet and Megan I love watching your videos and I hope y’all are doing good
We are in eastern Tennessee and have had intense rain for several days prior to Helene, now waiting to see how much water will raise in the lake we are on! Sending prayers to all
My grandpa would spray milk on his plants to get rid of bugs. Dsee if it work for you. He said milk caused a film that discouraged them from getting on plants.
I have already ordered all my plugs and seeds and I order for them a lot. I always liked the little free stuff they give us like a keychain or a sticker. I watch that show all the time they’re great.(TEXAS)🌱🌱🌱
Another great video. Yes, I did enjoy it. Your garden still looks great , homemade ice cream I remember my dad used to make that when I was a little girl.❤
Ya'll have a healthy looking garden. Your flowers are beautiful. I love purple hull peas. That looks like mustard greens coming up mixed in the salad patch. I sure miss gardening. I remember grandpa getting us out there with a hoe to hoe and side dress the garden. My in laws use to fuss at me cause I would trim several of the leaves off the bottom of okra plants. But when they seen them produce long after others were gone they shut up. Happy gardening.
Looks like Helene has come and gone. I got plenty of rain but nothing like the last 2 storms. I had plenty of wind but so far I only see one tree limb down. Grandma used to save tomato seeds as well as bean seeds. She would shell out the bean seeds and put them in a gallon glass jug with holes punched in the led. She would also put in some mothballs to keep the bugs out. I look forward to seeing y'all next Saturday and pray it doesn't get rained out. Have a great weekend!
Your own saved seeds should always out perform shop bought as theyve aclimitised to your conditions, year on year crops should be more vigorous. That and the price of seed these days is getting out of hand. Keep saving those seeds!
We have gone over seven inches of rain in east tennessee, wind is pretty rough laying down some trees around us, also according to the golden rod flowers we will have frost around the 20th of next month. Good luck with the storm.
Our greens are up and growing but it’s been so hot here for them to take off, we got up to 67 degrees here in Mobile this morning, not one drop of rain from the storm being we are on the West side, we need rain, but those greens and cabbage will be so good when they get big and have some cold weather on them and frost!
@@CindyMobley I hear about a lot of people going to Orange Beach and I have never been there before but I hope I can get my grand girls to go someday God Bless y’all and stay safe

Y’all’s Collards and or Cabbage plants look so good ❤❤I’ve always only grown a spring and summer garden. So I’ve got lots to learn. Meagan or Andy, do y’all have any tips for growing beets?
Hey yall enjoy your videos well we’re back in the rain from the hurricane again.we got our plants from hoss last week we are in central West Tennessee and I think we live about the farthest away to send live plants. I’m babying them along.can’t wait for some fresh collards and cornbread 😊

Be sure to save seed from that volunteer super bean plant, it has perfectly adapted to your location.
